I didn't know if that last message posted til I closed the tab that was stuck going nowhere, then opened the forums again, logged in again despite having ticked the "remember me" box before and then logged in again because it wouldn't give me an "edit" option. Eventually added new reply as it seemed the only way to interact with the site. and it made me log in again. WTF?

if they'd told us what they'd changed it to. I suspected it must be some combination of acc/game/forum un&pw but yeah, still took me about 30mins to log in.
better than the old forums though, where even logged in it took me longer than that to get a message to post

hmm. might take a bit of getting used to. certainly looks very nice. but logging in was a bit too much of a chore, and the forgotten password link just sends you to support pages instead of sending any kind of automated password verification or what have you. i'd prefer that option.
will have to hope it remembers me, but really, so long as it works more than the old ones and lets me post, it should be good. also, welcome colonials!

Now that's an entertaining thought.. How would you go about picking powers?
Would it be more or less like MA, where you get to pick a primary and a secondary from all parts, or will you just pick AT and based on that the powers..
Probably the latter, the first would mean a whole new game though. Talk about proliferation..

I have no idea how you got that you'd have free access to choose any power sets. Powers available are still limited by ATs, there's nothing there that states different. It simply says that you can be a Brute, Stalker, Blaster, Defender, whatever, then choose later on if you want to be a hero or a villain.

Stating as neutral would be fun. With all the co-op end-game it seems like we end up neutral anyway, might be fun to start off that way. Particularly if you team with someone a lot at the start, then end up choosing different sides and fighting them at some point.

so you get a power choice, but all your primary and secondary ones are already taken? Always? huh, never noticed that before. if this is correct, I apologise. but still, you can theoretically play without selecting many powers from the pools. if there was one with dodgy effects you could pick another one. assuming aesthetics are the main/sole reason for your power selection.

edit: it'd be cool to get weapon/colour customisation on some of the "temporary" powers that we end up keeping as well, heck, why not all powers?
it's the same as power proliferation, they do a bunch of stuff the first time, then get to other ones over time.

On topic; there are back options already and they do work. I was fortunate enough to have a US account when the transfer system was being tested. There was a few NPC back details in there (like the longbow jetpack and raptor pack) so there is stuff which latches on to the same costume 'hooks'.

I'm sure people would love to have these parts already available for use so they don't have to rely on the temp powers or re-purchase flight packs. If they don't want it to be too easy then they could add it to the list of costume recipes.

Well, they'd still need the temp powers or flight pool. Rocket boots and wings on your costume do not equate to the ability to use them as intended. Still, it'd be nice to have them selectable.

Unless the devs have taken into account the huge amount of work it's taken so far to get PC for our primary and secondary pools, and are aiming to launch GR before the holidays, so they don't have the rest of the year to work on converting all the other pools for PC, and have decided that the other pools will be added to PC later, as the primary and secondary ones are the main ones people use.

yeah I don't think GR will be anywhere near as "big" as COV, but there's a couple of very often asked for things (the whole going rogue idea, and pistols powers are my own personal wants from this), if they're done well (new stuff works, and doesn't break old stuff in the process), and it isn't too expensive (£20, maybe £25 with a month sub included) then I'll be happy.

Is getting access to your auctions some kind of puzzle I've missed the explaination of? Do I have to do something particular before clicking on the staff at these places to stop my game breaking?

Hero-side I've had it twice in the last 2 days where I've clicked on the staff NPC and gotten error that CoH needs to close. Sent off the error reports but nothing seems to have improved since I had these problems months ago. I'd actually stopped using WW, but with full inventory and empty slots on my 2nd build I decided to give it a chance. Bile rising once more.

BM isn't so bad. Usually just lose connection to mapserver there, and sometimes it's absolutely fine after the couple of minutes it takes to load the window up. Thing is both of these almost always work ok when I log back in after the crash so I don't think it can be a specific incompatibility with my setup.

I've changed graphics cards since first experiencing this problem ages ago too and the issue hasn't improved or been exacerbated by that. I'm thinking it's the servers. And if it is, isn't there something that can be done about it?

I'm perfectly capable of looking up the word in a dictionary and quoting the definition. I explained what it makes me think of. I didn't come out and state that was what the word meant. I used personal experience with the world to form an opinion, feeling that I've most probably been influenced by the way the word "primal" is used most often in places where I encounter it.
