I definately wouldn't want to see another EU server for another language. Having teamed with plenty of non-British folks, as well as obviously a lot of people from the same country, I'd suggest that if there were say, a Danish, Dutch or whatever server, us on the English speaking ones would have far less people able to communicate in an intelligible way.
But yeah, I was thinking Spanish server across the pond. You guys have Spanish commentators at pro wrestling for goodness sake! -

AmericAndy is it's a boy. -
I'd agree that the GvE edition is the best one to go for, but if you do find yourself drawn to another version, I'd highly recommend the in-game items pack. The costume pieces are really great and quite versatile. The powers, well, Jump-Pack is quite useful at lower levels, and I don't think I've ever went to Pocket D any other way than with the VIP teleporter, plus the VIP Tiki Lounge has a tailor in it, very useful.
I've got the rest of the packs available at the moment (and the CoV SE) but I'd say the Valk/Mac one has the best costume options. For starters it gives you access to a cape or wings at level 1. As someone who usually makes toons to a particular concept, it's near essential until you get the extra vet rewards. -
frankly, I'm jealous that you can open the consignment window without it killing your game.

grrr double-postage

got my power armoured blaster (who uses huge body type) an unarmoured costume. I'd tried it before, but even with everything at the lowest end of the scales, he was too big.
I am going to adapt one of my toons so he starts off as a kid sidekick type before maturing into a big tough hero by the last costume slot. -

Quote:Tried it last week. Bloody torture. Quite why is something I try not to think about. I'll agree that it may not have entirely been the fault of the missions themselves.Posi is not the torture it once was, yet so many people rely on their old memories of horror from doing it in the days of "yesterday" that they just don't give it a fair shot again. How many have Posi horror stories that are pre IO and how many of those people have given it a shot since?
Posi is easy. I'm always up for it and always happy to get people on Pinnacle through it fast and painless. -
I'm thinking that it exists in it's own little pocket universe and ignores all possible rules of the actual geography, and that it's really best not to think about where it's supposed to be, because that changes depending on the day of the week. The Simpsons thing was a bit of a joke, but the more I think about it, Lex is a lot like Monty Burns...

there's probably a couple of duplicate accounts in there as well, but still, decent number.
-
Task Force Master? with a new power? I'd give it a go, but lordy, Posi is tough enough with no restrictions.
-
hey, I'd be happy with just being able to give insps to my team-mates regardless of faction. That'd be a nice thing for the devs to do, since there's so much co-op later in the game.
-
don't you get badges for stopping the fires? surely they could add on something that when you earned the badge you'd get some merits. Wouldn't keep you going forever, but it'd give another reason to do this.
same with zombie invasions, Rikti maybe not so much, since if you're high enough you'll get Vanguard merits anyway (of course, that doesn't stop you getting both for LGTF, so I'm cool with it either way) and Paladin constuctions? I'd be happy just to find one :P -
yeah, swinging, vehicles (bikes, cars, horseys) and maybe boards (skate or flying) could be interesting new travel powers, but they are hardly essential.
as to the topic at hand stuff I'm not bothered about getting in the game would be:
More co-op at high levels. some at lower levels might be fun, although that's probably one of the things that Going Rogue will include, in one way or another.
More IO sets, because I rarely worry too terribly about those that are there. they're nice and all, but I usually just take what I get, or what I can buy with merits. Not a huge one for planning builds me.
Respecs as Vet Rewards. Fits in with the above, plus, with dual builds and resepec trials, I don't see they're desperately needed.
there's probably more, but nothing I can think of right now. -
I know it's a lot more inf than normal, but it's still nice to see the cossie comps back. When I started playing I couldn't make it through Atlas from one mish to the next without someone starting one. Admittedly I've spent a lot less time in Atlas lately, but still, even when I did, it seemed like these were dead. Plus, now we have flyers!
edit: any chance there will be maybe a bonus category for a particular theme? (I'm just looking for any chance I can get to win some inf!) -
I'm in!
But now I have to pick which toon to use...> -
Quote:I appreciate the shudder at hearing the footie is back on...but don't you diss the Dushku!I had to suppress a shudder this morning when I went into work and there was a sign in the Subway saying "Football is being played at Ibrox tonight...."
Is that the summer break over already? I mean, seriously, it feels like it's just stopped. Why the hell does football get to only have a couple of weeks off per year and I have to wait 26 weeks to find out what the hell happened to Adama or find out if Eliza Dushku has had any acting lessons during the 39 week break? (I like Dollhouse, but the show would work just as well if she was replaced with a lump of wood, or if really desperate, Michael Caine) -
Quote:I'll admit I've not seen too many of PK's posts, but it certainly seems like he's trying not to be #1.if you don't think you should be #1 then just be a jerk all the time
it seems like an easy problem to fix
half of me wants to channel the spirit of the free market and argue that competition for rep rank is, in fact, good for the community, but i really don't have the patience -
There's been the odd discussion on the EU forums about what server to pick if you weren't an English speaker. Obviously we have French and German speaking servers, but what about the other thousand languages in the world?
Now that we're all on the same forum I'm interested in hearing the thoughts of the wider CoH/CoV community. Obviously, everyone would probably prefer a server filled with other players who speak the same language, but are there any other vocal minorities who would benefit from their own dedicated server?
I'm sure there are a few Canadian players who'd quite like a move over to the French speaking server (forgive my memory of what the other EU servers are called please) if they could get a decent connection to them.
The other one I was thinking might be quite a popular idea is a Spanish speaking server. I know the US has a fairly large Latin population, and there's bound to be a percentage of them playing City Of...I might be making a redundant suggestion here, maybe there's already an unofficial Spanish server? But if there isn't and then one became available, would it be warmly received?
Please discuss and feel free to add your own suggestions. -

hurm. while I may not disagree with your statements, I don't have the money or the guns to attempt to say anything about American Christianity. Besides, I think we're the last country that should be having a go at people for messing with native people in countries we try and take over.

On behalf of any of my fellow Unionites who care to be included in the following statement, may I say: Welcome to our new forum, Mr North American!
funnily enough, I was reading CoH comics the other night and saw you in a big group pic in the fan art section. -
