  1. there's also a bit of inconsistency regarding language there too. (swearing)
which I don't even get, since anyone who might be offended by folks using bad words shouldn't have took the filter off in the first place.

Also, just because the government is doing it, doesn't make it not a crime.
  3. /em robotdance was a very very good part of the cyborg pack. I've made great use of the costume parts and would have bought it for them, but the dance definitely sold it for me. I do a lot of other stuff in game, but if a situation calls for dancing, The Ro-bot is pretty high up the list of choices.

yeah, it'd be bloody brilliant. which is why I discounted it. The powers we've had from the booster packs haven't been quite as useful at that.
  5. good and evil are not clearcut at all. Take Goatees for example...they indicate evilness, yes?

    ...yet Morgan Freeman has one.
  6. backpacks would be very cool, particularly if they included some kind of quiver (hopefully a few) and other weaponry we could display on our backs (I keep on seeing people pulling swords out of nowhere!) or at our sides as belt pieces.

smoke-bomb costume change emote is a great idea.

temp power? hmmm, not that it'd be terribly useful, but a Public Transport Pass would be fun. Heroes would be able to use it at any bus stop, to get to any other zone. Villains would have to go to an Arachnos Flyer.

The idea that 'owning' another person was wrong, and dare I say evil, was completely alien to many people before the abolitionist movements.

Of course it took a lot longer (a century or more) before the owning of slaves was abolished and the cessation of treating women as 'property' (of their fathers, or then their husbands) occurred in the West.

Were these people Evil ? Or just a product of the morals and over-riding opinions of their times.
Who is to say that in 300 years, claiming ownership of an animal won't be viewed as being just as evil? Take that cat and dog-owners!
Seriously though, the majority concensus on what is morally right or wrong changes over time.
  9. Sometimes the more sublte is a bit more fun anyway. Look at Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in The Ultimates. It all went to hell at the same time as the incest was revealed. May not be a direct relation there, but it did happen.

Personally, I don't need to see them Statesman Jr-Punch the thing out of canon. So long as they stay away from showing them going at it on the Praetorian Presidential table, I'd say it's ok. Well, not "ok" but it works within the context of the game.

I'd put a bandage on one of his giant spider legs, explain that he is dedicated to equal opportunities employment, citing his inclusion of a ghost and shark on his staff as proof of this and promote the Arachnos uniforms at a fashion week...I'm thinking London, or maybe Milan.
  11. I've pointed out stupid -rep comments I've recieved, in the hopes the person supplying them would have the balls to voice their opinions that we may discuss why they feel my comments have negatively affected discussion on the boards. Yet to get one (not that I've many at all either way...not that I'm that bothered) that's not had the comment reveal the lack of knowledge of the poster.
I do like being able to up people's rep for good posts though.
  12. I'll be making a Dual Pistols Vigilante to try out the new starting zones as I imagine a lot of people will be.

I'm working on levelling up my first VEAT (King Spider) at the moment, I'll be taking at least one over the good side, not sure if I'll use this Soldier or make a new one, or maybe go for a Widow. So many choices.

Quite a few characters that won't be switching, Prom Queen couldn't go bad, she's sometimes a bit full of herself, but never evil. My MM might get a little morally grey, but he'll be doing it for his own ends if anything. MC America and Captain Attitude will stay on the straight an narrow. I've a couple of others who I might make opposite versions of though, I mean Praetoria is an alternate reality, makes sense there'd be some dopplegangers of player characters kicking about over there too.

I've a claws scapper who might well lose it completely, already suffering from a 2nd personality (when I bother to play him), and Irn Brute might get re-rolled now we've colour customisation for his powers, so I might just save that til I can start him in Praetoria.

Most difficult choice is my main, all-arrows Defender: Monarcher. I created him because I couldn't make a Dual Pistols, morally grey character. The idea I'd had for the character has evolved over the course of his heroic career to where there's very little of the original concept left. What's left will probably get folded over into the new, unrelated Pistol character I plan to make. However, the idea of crossing back over after spending some time "undercover" is highly appealing, and not just because I'm currently half-way through reading Sleeper.
  13. Yeah, I read the rest of the thread and came back to edit.
Still, that's better, kinda, I've already got a Pistols character in mind. Being able to switch my existing Epic ATs over to the other sides just means I can work on lvling up my current Spiders and Widows.

"Get over here!" I like it.

Sad news about the HEATs and VEATS (well, I wasn't bothered about Khelds, but Rogue Arachnos would be BA) but it was expected.
  15. Hope you had a good time, and thanks again for putting the effort in to keep us updated.
  16. that's just stupid. I'm all for equal rights, and in a video game where we punch/stab/explode people in the face, if we're playing a villain I don't see why we should discriminate based on gender or planet/dimension of origin.
besides, it was quite clearly a joke. Game doesn't let us torment civillians.

You should have to read comics to play the game, or at least watch some of the films. Jeezus! Who was it didn't get the Green Goblin joke?
  18. Just had a thought. Rularuu really does sound like something Scooby Doo would say.
  19. want a stupid mission? My Spider just hit 20. I had to go to Paragon City and steal a hero's cape for the right to wear one myself (well, assuming I didn't just put on the magic or valkyrie booster, or COV collectors edition ones) only the hero that came to let me beat her down didn't have a cape. I wonder what piece of clothing my villain did steal?

    Kindred spirits

a few RL friends got me into MMO gaming with WoW, when they left I couldn't stand playing it anymore, and after a few months of paying the subscription for nothing, I gave in and cancelled it. Had seen ads for CoH in comics, and a bit of looking online made it seem like my kind of thing.
Found the community far more welcoming and teaming far more fun (and solo far more manageable, not to mention the lack of having to be an accountant to have a decent character...well, except I just did mention it) and still playing nearly 2 years later. There are other MMOs that look good, but in the end it'll come down to how the other players are.
I've got one of my RL friends to take up the free trial, but he only played a few hours and then went back to WoW. Silly, silly man.
  22. Leona and Alexandra fail though. Not at sounding like Mariah Carey, just in general.
  23. gotta say, I'm not a huge fan of this new system they've implemented to make the Halloween badges more difficult to obtain...you know, the one where you've at least a 50% chance to crashing the game (and your PC) if you get a Zombie Apocalypse?
  24. I would walk 500 miles!

Gotta say though, really sad that Elton John and The Spice Girls are the 2 Brit choices, but the oobservation is accurate. As for why people do it, I've no idea, so will go with The Rrrrabbit on that.
  25. Desdemona. I know everyone says Bettie Page, and I can't really argue with that, but to me she looks like Britney Spears. Which, I'm sure is a result of Britters trying to look like Page at some (many?) points in her career. Which is fine. Fine! I tell thee.

Between this and Harley Quinn from the recent Batman game, my digital self would be plenty satisfied.

Now. Clockwork parts for us to use? Brilliant! I might be able to make Tin Man 2020 properly! And it'll no doubt be pleasing to any number of other folks. I just hope it doesn't spark any more new toon ideas from me, I've got enough that I don't have slots for as it is.
