It's okay. Here in the colonies we still do the date correctly.

I'd still be okay with seeing all Tanker auras set at Mag 4 and all non-tank auras set down to Mag 2... maybe Mag 3. Or, to avoid "u changing my charakter" just bump all the Tank auras to Mag 5 (explosions may occur, the universe may end, etc).

w00t! More chatting. More F bombs (I did laugh when that happened). More improvised topics and sit-ins!

Quote:The Dennys Principle applies to that as well. This is the most New England thing about Paragon (outside of the tunnels and cults and pushy pedestrians). Just Paragon has Mexican restaurants everywhere instead of Dunkin's Donuts like Boston does.
And because this thread is missing something...

Quote:OMG! Dr Aeon hated Jack Emmert and wormed his way into the studio years ago just to eventually write the story arc that killed Jack's namesake out of spite! An epic plan to be sure. Wait... is Dr Aeon really a Nemesis automaton? While I do respect differing opinions and viewpoints:
If we had wanted to kill off States out of spite, we would have done so years ago. There's been nothing keeping us from doing so.
The death of Statesman (and Sister Psyche) was part of a huge change to the City of Heroes franchise; the move to a Hybrid model. We wanted to do something big, something impactful and something that could give us more avenues to make you, the player, the primary focus.
Were there obvious allusions and comparisons made to Jack and his relation to States? Of course. There's plenty of press opportunities there, and it's something that drew interest from veteran players, current players and new players alike, as well as gaming journalists familiar with the franchise. I absolutely agree that there was some real world symbolism, as Matt expressed in an article he wrote on the topic, however to say there was malice or prejudice involved would be spurious.
This industry is entirely too small to burn bridges.
There's also the point that the SSA1 stories weren't directly written by Matt. I believe most of the writing was handled by Dr. Aeon. -

Is it that Statesman was a Mary Sue with no weaknesses and arguably one of the most douchey "hero" characters ever to reside in fiction?

Are the gods pan-dimensional? Has Praetoria ever had Lilitu (Infernals mom)? Or does she exist in all dimensions?
Regardless:
Quote:So, Infernal comes from Infernal Earth.K'Varr D'Shall was the most skilled demon binder in the Order of the Crimson Lotus on an alternate Earth. His order bound demons into their weapons and armor, in order to keep Infernal Earth from being overrun by them. They were maintaining and uneasy peace until K'Varr's best friend T'Keron grew jealous of his comrade's power and skill. T'Keron attempted to bind Valmaz, Lord of Demons, but lost control of the ceremony. K'Varr arrived to help his friend, but it was too late. K'Varr, T'Keron, and Valmaz were all drawn through a dimensional rip caused by the binding ceremony onto Primal Earth, our Earth. T'Keron and the Demon Lord were bound together by the potent mystic forces.
The ways of our world are strange to K'Varr but Numina is assisting him in becoming acclimated and beginning his search for the unholy fusion of T'Keron and Valmaz. -
I've burned out on CoX several times over the last 8 years. I've never let my sub lapse because I always knew I'd be back in 2-4 weeks. It's no different now for me. *shrug*
Something new and awesome in the store every week... no. Not sustainable. At some point the store will have everything in it that is available. Then new sets or SSAs will be added every month or so. -
Cole was a super before he was the Champion. Making "peace" with The Hamidon convinced the Well and Cole was after the power to do it. They both got what they wanted.

Quote:Nope, please have them stop dropping into my recipes. I vendor trash them.1. crafted powers - envenomed dagger is big vs AV's, stun grenades give everyone an AoE mezz, lots of other powers as well
Quote:2. Safeguard temporary powers just for doing them - sure there is flight, but there is also END increase and Health increase
Also nope.
If I get the passives I don't have a choice. I don't use the click ones.
Quote:5. Temp power from patrolling PvP zones - stealth or phasing
Quote:6. Temp powers from regular missions - wedding ring, holy shotgun
If I run it and get them sure. They're passives.
Again, if I ever run it, sure. It's passive.
Nope.
Nope.
I get the passives for characters I plan to take to Tier 4, otherwise nope. -
I'd suggest Ill/TA controller. Ill only because after trying both it and Dark/ I find Ill to be vastly superior, YMMV.

Quote:Pretty close actually. Maelstrom's part of it and the other players that were involved can be found here. The way I understand the timeline it goes something like this:
-Some organization from Primal (not Portal Corp) discovers Praetoria, sends Maelstrom & his companion there. Maelstrom switches sides.
-Cole dispatches people to figure out what the heck is going on with those Primals snooping around, hence Marauder's Cell and the attempted kidnapping of Statesman. He starts gearing up for invasion. (old arcs)
-Both Arachnos and Longbow/Vanguard start infiltrating Praetoria, at the same time Powers Division is infiltrating Paragon City (Twinshot arc)
-Our Praetorian PC's delay the invasion (by whatever means) in the final Praetoria arcs.
-Cole sends Battle Maiden to invade (Atlas TF) the primal incarnates strike back and essentialyl wreck the invasion force (Tin Mage TF)
-At the same time the Durays team up and launch a diversionary invasion (Sutter TF)
-With the invasion defeated, Cole is now on the defensive. He starts by trying to take out the Resistance (BAF trial) but is stopped, the incarnates then proceed to wreck Lamba Sector (Lambda trial) and the Keyes Island Reactor, pretty much ending any threat of invasion.
-The fighting starts to wake the Hamidon up, who proceeds to pretty much declare war on Praetoria. (UG trial) Desdemona assumes leadership of the Carnival of Light.
-The incarnates attack the TPN network to try to break Tyrant's hold on the praetorian population, Maelstrom is defeated. (TPN trial)
-With no more propaganda, Mother Mayhem turns on the psychic sledgehammer. The incarnates stop her. (Minds of Mayhem trial)
-The DA arcs, Praetor Duncan slips over to Primal Earth, Mot is defeated, Diabolique attempts to take control of him but the incarnates and Dream Doctor stops her (DD trial)
I23 stuff:
-Chimera in desperation gathers what remaining supers he can into a new group of Praetors. Imperial City is liberated. (Sword of the Emperor arc)
-Nova Praetoria is evacuated, Lord Recluse tries to beat the incarnates to the punch (and stealing Cole's technology) but is defeated by Cole.
-The incarnates invade the Magisterium, beating Cole's Praetors, in desperation he blows up the Magisterium but it is not enough and Cole is defeated. -
Quote:Right. He didn't.Because Cole totally didn't invade us multiple times and threaten to wipe us out. OOPS.
Also *Spoilers*
Nuking the center of his own metropolis is totally the answer to all his problems.
When the strongest force of your enemy is clustered in one place and all previous attacks have failed to produce noticeable effect... yes. Go big. he knew from past experience that he'd be fine. Hopefully we wouldn't be and then he could go about rebuilding. -
Quote:I thank you for reading the content. If you ran the UG trial you would know that this is false.
The War Walkers were built to not fight at full potential when there was any civilian presence around.
Tyrant EXECUTES the commander of one of his forces who ignores this and deliberately attacks skyway(?) with hamidon spores, and he abandons Valkyrie for causing damage to the city as well, AND he sends Duncan to try and put a stop to Mot.
And he is somehow a generic, card carrying villain? -

Power Corrupts is one of the intrinsic lessons of Praetoria.

As has been said and seems to be agreed on now, Dark Armor is great. Not SuperZOMGAmazeballs... but solid, manageable and very, very good. It's also a ton of fun.

Honestly I'm pretty happy the way it is. Right now I can level one character in Atlas > Hollows > Steel > etc. My next character can run a DFB > Kings > Steel > etc.
I'm not doing the same content over and over again per character. That normally kills alt-itis in other MMOs for me.
