The NCSLauncher was already working through Steam (with overlay) on my home rig, but I just installed CoX via Steam on my laptop as well and it worked exactly as advertised. No issues.

Quote:Cold domination, will do 60% of its total damage from its secondary by debuffing enemies, that is not including the additional damage from the rest of the team. So when an at is deriving most of its damage from debuffing the enemies you call it a primary damage dealer.
Good to know where the goalposts are set in this discussion -
Quote:This is why you should use your T4 Judgements as soon as their up. Wipe the group and move on. Who needs those AT powers. All true, ego-tripping is not confined to meleers, sometimes I get bummed about KB on my rangers too, especially my Fire/Fire/Force blaster, they always seem to use KB right as I use Rain of Fire.
If only they would just stand and admire my beauty and the devastation I will cause to our enemies. Damn those other players for wanting to use their powers too!
Sure, their attacks cause damage and add control, but MINE are so much more productive! How can they not understand? Why do they think they should be able to play too?
Also, poorly used KB (aka not used for control but for golfing) is the sign of a dullard. -
Quote:*blink blink* You must be doing it wrong. TA is awesome.Thats bullcrap and you know it. There are still several threads about it being sub-par compared to all the other sets. Its the one defender primary that can not single handedly defend an 8 man team because it has no real way outside of an insanely long recharge power to stop or mitigate damage. If it had a heal or a tohit buff that was worth a damn things might be different. Right now it just takes entirely too long to put all those debuffs it does get out when you compare it to the other powersets.

Quote:I love blasters like you on my tanks. I leave you with your KB aggro and go to the next group. Please add tons of KB to it, thanks.
The only dissent will be from forum posters more interested in rewards per minute than having fun. KB haters are not a majority, just a vocal minority.
Thanks for all the new changes Paragon! -

Quote:Drop the emp and make it 3 astrals and you've got a deal. How about "I just ran a 5 mission arc with multiple objectives that took an hour and a half and ended with me having to take down a level 54 AV that ignores the No AV difficulty scaling?"
Max number of players allowed in arc: 3. Is able to be started with 1. Grants 1 emp merit at completion once a day. Grants chance for astral merits at objective completion. Drops threads.
So yes... really. -
Quote:I beat up 10 skulz! I r inkarnate! Rawr!Agreed. I'd be happy with one solo incarnate arc per every 4 itrials.
Really Bill?
I'd like to see:
- some changes to LFG to make it useful (similar to how it works in other games - Dunno about that evening-elf game since I never teamed in it... and was horde).
- more TFs/trials similar to Apex/Tin Mage where a single team is the basis.
- more strategy required (Keyes has this and I like it) rather than tank n spank (though that is fun sometimes as well).
Solo incarnate-ing should be painfully slow and soul-crushingly boring IMO. -
Quote:Exactly. Give Keyes a couple of weeks. By then it will be consistently succeeding with a few anomalous errors. That sounds like more of a problem with fixing the Team Up Teleporter / LFG Queue than needing a solo friendly path.
As for Keyes-- it took days for BAF and LAM to be beaten consistently, and weeks for them to be consistently sped through by the majority of groups. Keyes has been out for 2 and a half days and is on the same track, with some teams failing and others beating it, so some perspective is needed. -

Quote:Fix what? Did anyone post complaining that the ice shields gave them headaches or made them dizzy in the years since they were released? It was mentioned above: If the effect causes your physical discomfort PM Tunnel Rat or post it to her thread. If you just don't like it... Meh.After it goes to live is to late to fix the problem for those players though. It's something that should have been held off until AFTER they fixed it. As for it being a small AoE, that's fine... if you're outdoors. If you're on an indoor map? Not so much. And how do you avoid it if you're not even aware it's coming? Now you don't have to just worry about being the one who gets targeted, you also have to worry about being within 30 feet of someone who gets targeted. That's insane.
All the details were given beforehand by others. It's most mind-boggling because it's like they learned nothing from the issues that came from Sonics on some players. Look at how long that took to fix, and that was before we had power customization giving people the ability to create color combinations that could wreak havoc on people's eyes. I mean.... seriously? Do we really have to have people go through that sort of thing all over again just to make it easier for people to click one person to buff an entire group?
To be blunt, if the shield effect bother someone so much, even when they just see someone with the shields on, perhaps a nice game of hi-res pong is more appropriate. -
Quote:Paragon Studios is using (thus far anyway) the same model for F2P that Turbine uses for their games. I play both of those as well, one as a F2P that has bought some points and the other as a lifetime sub. That makes me a Premium account and a VIP account respectively.I just hope that NCSoft has done it's homework on this hybrid model. Otherwise they could kill this game, if they were to put truly game changing items in the shop. Ones that would give players that have the extra cash, unfair advantages over the ones that do not have that kind of cash. Even though it is an exciting time, I am still going to be looking carefully how this plays out.
I am looking forward to more information on this. I still do not know what I would lose if my account went to premium. Because there have been times in the close to five years I have been playing, where I had to let my sub lapse. So if I have to do it again, I am still not clear as to what I would be losing. I know that they have said whatever you have unlocked on your account you keep as premium, also what you have bought.
Also I would like to have a way of seeing either in game or at my account screen, what I would have if my account were to switch to premium. With that information I could make informed decisions on the best way to spend my paragon points.
Let's say I have a total of about 30 characters. How many slots will I have available on my account? What characters would not be available? How would the available characters be chosen?
Meaning I hope that NCSoft, will give us the players the information we need to make good informed decisions continues with spending paragon points.
Can you buy things that will make you better than someone else? Define better. I bought a race and class. The race is better than the standard races and the class was simply different (and more suited to my playstyle).
In the 2nd game I get points per month to spend as I choose. I get all existing content and most new content. They did just release a full expansion pack which I had to buy but I did and have zero regrets as I got things that will be unavailable in the store for quite some time, if ever. In that store I can buy cosmetic items (yay!) and that's where most of my points have gone. I've bought some increased storage, but as a VIP I started with more than the Freebs or Prems. I can buy "stat bonuses" but everyone can. They're not overpowering and in a largely PvE game it's like doing Crimsons arc where a couple of people on the team have all their T4 incarnate powers, ie: everybody wins.
Anyway, if PS sticks with Turbines sub model and balances the store offerings they should see a large return of old players and some new ones as well that quickly become at least Prems. -
Or a Freeb that buys a single batch of points for $10 (provided that Paragon Studios continues to use Turbines F2P model).

Quote:Apparently all of Praetoria. I've not done the testing and math myself but others have and is seems that a praetorian even con minion has a 65% change to hit vs the primal equivalents 50%.Outside of Incarnate Trial mobs, which were given a to-hit bonus to begin with (and therefore technically not "buffed"), what enemies got better accuracy or to-hit? I'm not a fan of enemies being given arbitrary advantages, but I'm also not a fan of hyperbole.
Quote:This has always been a huge flaw with the game as a whole, IMO. There's all of two groups in the game that do any major amount of -Resistance (Goldbrickers and Wailers), and they're both more or less sequestered in their own zones, able to be avoided entirely. -
Quote:I have no problems with Masterminds as heroes. Neither do the devs as evidenced by the fact that there are several MM heroes currently in play.Shield is not an SG since most of the people in it are not supers.
There were 5 original X-Men, and 4 original Doom Patrol. MM's get 6 henchmen. What defines an SG?
In this game SG Leaders fight along side their SG, so I'm comfortable saying the definition of an SG doesn't matter anyway. This is just an illogical argument from people who don't want MMs as Heroes. -
While I like the trials I am quite burned out on them. I haven't done one in almost 3 weeks now. Then again most of my SG has been out of game doing other things anyway as we're all mostly burned out after grinding out the 2 level shifts across however many toons they did. I only did it on 2 and not one of them has a VR aside from the Alpha.
I have another toon I'm looking forward to gearing up for the iTrials but I just haven't bothered since I know what I'm in for.
*shrug* End game isn't for everyone. Don't like it, don't bother with it. -
With the changes that Black Scorpion posted I'm content. Especially with Powerboost *drool!*

Quote:So, when I try to buy a Server Transfer there's no option to "save it for later". Just pick a server. That's it. The server I want is there so yay, but still. How would on "save it for later"?Emphasizing that last bit before the impending fight starts...
Yes, the trans-Atlantic server transfers should work now, and yes, it's super annoying that they don't. But you'll only have yourself to blame if you don't take advantage of the sale and buy some transfer tokens while they're discounted! -
I've actively avoided Elec Blast simply because of all the control in it. I'm not a controller. Gimme more zotboom. *shrug*
