I was in RWZ two nights ago testing out various uncommon boosts and the changes were reflecting dynamically in the combat att window. I never had to zone to see a difference. Mainly I was looking at the RES difference on the Cardiac boost.

I've got 4 Uncommons crafted on my main. Now I'm just stockpiling for the tier 3/4 unlocks.

I've been experiencing an overall performance hit at times since I19 as well. My friend just came back for I19 after a 2 month break and he's having performance issues on his PC also.
Glad to hear it's not just me... I guess. -
I run a crab with gun attacks. The only crab attack I have is Suppression. My chain consists of VG>HB>Suppression>VG. I have really high recharge so this works out really well for me.
Also, I don't want to build for JUST level 50. With my current build I have all my main AoE attacks and 4/5 of my leadership toggles by 20 (Posi 1). I have 4 purple sets, all my LotGs are level 25, and some of my other recharge sets are in the 20-25 range so I get a high amount of recharge early on too. Everything beyond level 20 is just additional perks which continue to make my core game a lot better (Fort, Serum, all 3 pet powers). I don't want to build around AB and BS then hop on a lower level TF and be completely gimped. -

I believe it has to do with the character editor. Going in to SG option loads up the editor in the background for when you go in to the costume color section. You can not access the character editor while shapeshifted.

Quote:Melee is at a disadvantage, there's no denying this. Bass just wanted to gloat about his successful Scrapper Apex TF, hence the link to the forum thread. Regardless, it is a noteworthy feat because of the fact that melee is at a disadvantage on the BM fight so it's cool to see that him and his team pulled it off."Melee ATs aren't at a disadvantage when fighting Battle Maiden."
This I disagree with. Sure, it's perfectly doable (not even that hard) with an all-melee team, but they're certainly at a disadvantage compared to different team.
Ranged hovering characters would have the easiest time with this as they can fire off their attack chains without worrying about the swords. Hover not suffering from movement suppression makes escaping from death patches very easy also. -
Quote:You had 8 very competent forum-going scrappers on your organized team. If we're talking about a random PuG running this TF, you know that the story would be A LOT different. If Scrappers can do these two new TFs with Temporary Powers disabled, just about anybody can!

You don't "need" debuffs on your team for Apex & Tin Mage TF.
You don't "need" heals on your team for Apex & Tin Mage TF.
You don't "need" buffs on your team for Apex & Tin Mage TF.
You don't "need" ranged on your team for Apex & Tin Mage TF.
Melee ATs aren't at a disadvantage when fighting Battle Maiden. -
Quote:I was able to grab an NA code for myself and my friend. I usually end up aiming for the codes that are backwards because I think people tend to avoid trying to figure them out. I was on the phone taking orders for a customer while doing this also so it was a bit tricky. Not impossible, but you just have to be quick and paying attention.I am in the EU, so that might have been a factor, but still, 7 minutes! It was sheer fluke I clicked to update Twitter and I didn't even know about the 12 Days thing, hadn't seen this announcement or anything, just recognised them as codes to enter, tried it, got one, tried a different one and got one for my wife!
Good luck to everyone on the remaining codes. -

VEATs with stacked leadership.
I've been at the CoH game for many years now and have concluded that nothing beats a team of these. -
As I mentioned earlier, the current one on the app store is pretty sub-par. I kept it on my phone for a long time to see if it would ever be updated but I gave up on it and deleted it. It didn't even have Epic AT information on it.
I think the most basic starting point would be all ATs and all powersets including description and stats, this would include Power Pool stats for each AT and A/PPP. So basically, just a reference at first. I have the RedTomax page bookmarked on my iPhone for reference but a native app would be nice.
After you have the reference part down, I would start working towards a builder with actual stats displayed. (being able to add slots and enhancements). Maybe just start with SOs and basic IOs to make sure is working properly before going in to Set IOs. Set IOs seems like it's going to be a lot of work because of bonuses and such.
In regards to exporting, I could first prefer the option to export to e-mail so I could just throw it in to Mids. Well, I guess I may be getting ahead of myself in assuming it would be compatible with Mids in the first place. Are you planning this on being able to be compatible with Mids? Hmm... tricky. -
I would love this as well. Currently I use TeamViewer to remote in to my home PC and just used Mids that way. It works, but a native app would be awesome.
There's currently an app in the App Store that is a hero builder but it's very very limited and I haven't seen any updates to it in a long time. It almost seems like the dev scrapped it. I realize re-creating a mobile Mids would be a tough undertaking, but I'd aim for that.
I'm wouldn't be interested in some sort of costume creator as much as I would be in a statistical character builder. -
This happened to me frequently even before I19. I would log out to the login screen, login with user/pass, and receive this message about already being logged in.
It almost seems like the error may be due to some internal server timing issue. The new feature probably logs you out and logs you back in automatically (instead of actually staying logged in and just shooting you over to the character select screen), but if the server still thinks you're logged in then you'll receive this error message. This is just my speculation based off my observations and not actual fact. -
Would this build be called a 'Crapper'?

So I never really understood what's happening with the greens. Do they just spam a self-heal while being attacked? I always thought that other greens offered some sort of healing but the holds wouldn't make sense then.

Quote:The EradicatorsWhich SG is that? I'm a huge spider fan and havent run into a pure SoA SG that was actually active.
We're a blueside group on Virtue. It used to be just another SG in the past but it eventually went dead for a long time. At some point, the leaders, Eiger and Chasa, discovered the awesomeness of VEATs and decided to slowly re-build the SG as an all VEAT group.
We're not a hardcore SG that requires RP, weekly meetings, or anything like that. We're not really an RP group but we won't care if you decide that you want to. We're all pretty casual and get along with each other very well. At the moment there's about 8 or so unique regulars. We don't go around spamming for new recruits in Atlas, but usually recruit from coming across other VEATs who share our love for stacked leadership. Eventhough we don't have a large amount of members, we're all high level and have a full base.
You sound like you know what you're doing so let me know if you'd like to tag along with us. With I19 out now, I'm sure we'll be running a whole lot more TFs and such so we'd love to have you.
Let me know if you're interested (or anyone else who may be reading this)

I completely agree. As I mentioned, I'm on an SG of all Spiders. We ran an STF last night with 7 spiders and 1 controller. The whole time we were running around at around +100 defense, +180 damage, +100 to-hit. Needless to say, it was pretty much easy mode the entire time.

Something that I've noticed in pretty much all hunts vs crab debates is the leadership issue. In most cases, I hear that hunts is better because of all the leadership toggles you can stack. I don't see how this is relevant considering that you can do the same on a crab. The counter-argument I normally hear is that crab is so invested in grabbing so many AoEs that they don't have room for leadership. This really isn't a powerset issue but moreso a build issue. As a crab, it seems silly to grab every AoE possible because with high enough recharge you can chain through 3 of them.
On my crab, my chain is Venom Grenade > Heavy Burst (achiles proc'd) > Suppression (also achilles proc'd)> Heavy Burst again. All of this while running 8 toggles. It's essentially the same playstyle as a traditional Huntsman but with the defensive benefits of a Crab.
In the end though, the hunts vs crab debates boils down to the backpack. If you don't mind the pack, you'll be awesome as a crab. If you hate the pack, go huntsman and you'll still be pretty okay in the long run.
I'm in an SG of all Spiders (most of them Huntsmen) and their reasoning for not going crab is essentially the backpack/theme.
Edit: While I do feel that overall crab has more potential than huntsman, I'd much rather team with a huntsman than another crab. Reason being, is that most huntsman know that stacking leadership is one of their strong points while MANY crabs I run across skip them in order to grab every single AoE available to them. So in then end, I'd prefer my teammate to have Assault/Maneuvers rather than silliness like Omega Maneuver/Frenzy. -
They're all great builds, really. With all 3 builds you can grab a good amount of -res, lots of leadership toggles, and great offensive output.
What really makes crab stand out for me though is survivability. You can softcap all 3 builds but with crab you can build a good amount of resistance with Fortitude (with Tough, I'm sitting at around 50RES across the board/high mez protect) and a significant HP boost with Serum (2100+ HP with Perma-Serum). Spiderlings also provide an additional layer of offensive output and damage mitigation.
Having high defense is great, and all 3 builds can achieve that, but when your defense fails, you WILL get hit hard without any resistances. With a lower amount of HP, a few hard hits (AVs) and you're done.
Last night, I solo'd the Holtz/Honoree mission in the new Incarnate unlock arc with my hoverguncrab. Holtz and Honoree were spawned as AVs and I was able to deal with them without too much trouble. I took a decent amount of hard hits, but my RES and +HP kept me in the fight. Without them (Hunts/Bane) I probably would've faceplanted.
Once again, they're all great builds and you'll feel powerful with all 3, but crab's additional layers of durability makes it the clear winner for me. -
Just finished this mission solo.
Thanks to this thread I went in expecting the worst so I set myself to +0 x1. I THOUGHT I had set myself to No AV but as I entered that last room with Holtz and Honoree, I quickly found out that I made a boo boo. 2 even con AVs with swarms of Rikti. Ehh, why not?
I mopped up that room in about 8 minutes.
This mission is NOT the OMGfest I was expecting.
Edit: BTW, I'm using a Crab. -
An endgame mission where you are on the path to gain godly power? Yeah, I sure hope they are all difficult missions.
I, personally, haven't played any of the I19 content but I really do hope that everything Incarnate related is VERY challenging. This is what I've been wanting for a long time.
