  1. One of my favorite parts of the Beam Rifle beta test were the awesome new rifle models, specifically the Shock Rifle. Obviously, I was completely bummed when it went live and many models were missing. Now that we got the missing Shard Cannon in the Super Pack I have hope that the Shock Rifle will follow shortly... somehow.

Please devs, can I have this gun back? ... and available for all rifle sets? ... and if not all rifle sets, specifically for my crab spider?

    Thank you.

But what do you take instead of Omegabomb?
I'd love to take Omega as a single slot investment utility power, but I just can't find the room for it. It wouldn't be a main focus on my build but would be fun to have. I've toyed with the idea of dropping boxing/tough to make room for it and 1 other pick (vengeance with a 5th LotG recharge?) but I know that's just crazy talk... right?

I know Tough is great to have but it's just a boring power and I hate having to waste a power pick on Boxing to get there. Boxing is the only power in my build I do not use and I HATE that sense of inefficiency it gives me. Im pretty survivable without tough, but I just know its a bad idea to drop it.

I want to say that PvP IOs are in their own category for conversions. I was playing with it on beta a week ago but dont remember for sure now.

I have no pets, so that is the power choice for aim for me.
Don't you find dual tactics pretty wasteful? Have you monitored your hit rolls w/out it to see if you notice a difference? I can see running it with pets since they're lower level and may need it, but don't really see the need aside from that... And PvP if you're in to that. Since crabs are tight builds, just curious to hear why you decided on picking up power pool Tactics.

You know, I did my testing on i22 beta and I'm pretty sure I confirmed on Live also (maybe I didn't though). Could be a buff coming in i22. Will have to verify later.

Edit: Just verified, Live has the Pylon buff at -150 but Beta has the -1000... buff incoming?
  6. I have it on my crab. On level 50 AVs and Pylons each proc hits for about -1000hp so at 4 stack you're looking at about -4000 max hp. That will effect regen and overall fight duration as that last 10% hp is already taken care of for you when you get there.

I posted screenshots about this on a degenerative thread a few weeks ago since some of the info floating around is incorrect. Not sure if it's been buffed from its original introduction but as it is now its pretty decent. I don't know the exact formula behind it though.

Edit: here's my post w/screens from the thread I mentioned. Also note that while AV screens are not shown, I tested against a 50 Tyrant AV and the results were similar to Pylon. - http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...8&postcount=11

  8. Male helmet without ponytail seems to be missing on live. I saw the set on Beta and mainly purchased for the helm w/out ponytail. I am dissapoint.
  9. There were in-game announcements saying servers would be going down. No ETA or reason was given.

I want the pet, it goes very well with the theme and makes the character - I've got the Arachnos Lore Pets and I usually have a Backup Radio for fun too... it gives me a small Arachnos army to stomp on stuff... with added HVAS.

I'm always a bit iffy about BU. I know it adds a lot for a short moment but I prefer consistency - I guess that's possibly a contentious stance to take but it tends to work for me.

Also Stealth... I'm trying to lose that because it's not how I see the Huntsman role. Sure, good for defence but in any conflict between build and theme, theme wins for me.

I've got 5 Ragnaroks for Heavy Burst now, and I've catalyzed my five Dominion of Arachnos but sadly they aren't in Mids yet
I feel the same about BU, personally but I can see both sides of the argument.

Also, I'm a big fan of the pet. On my crab I run Spiderlings Reinforcements,Blaster for 6 spiders. Also I have the Arachnos lore for Tarantula boss and bane LT. Like you, I keep Backup Radio stocked and also Lord Recluse signature summon (with his own bane he spawns). It's really a sight to behold having 11 Arachnos Pets all buffed with dual leadership going to town on their poor victims.

I have a build planned however for a Perma 6 pet build, to see what that does.
Pets end up adding a nice chunk of damage especially when slotting for damage and running dual assault.

To answer the OP, if you're concerned with soloing go Crab. They're much more resilient and have the AoEs to deal with x8 content.
  13. As many others have said, random is random. For instance, I've opened over 200 packs on live an STILL no black wolf! On the other end of things, I've heard reports of people getting it on their first few packs.
  14. So with the following tweak I am losing out on a few recovery/health bonuses but not enough to make a huge impact since Im better slotted for end redux. Also, Ive lost 1mph on my hover speed but still at over 40mph so Im okay with that!

What I have gained is about 5% def with BotZ/Expedient set and attuned LotG in Combat Defensive, so Im at just over 43 ranged now. Gaussian would soft cap me but I cant justify the trade-off.

The missing slot in Heavy Burst is the awesome SoA proc, and Burst is 5 slotted with the remaining SATOs. With that recharge bonus addition, I was able to ditch posi set in Suppression and go range/dmg Hami-Os in Suppression so now both my cones spam at 80ft. Very nice!

Made some changes on the pets too, ditched the lowbie Call to Arms slotting and went with 50+5 Expedient reinforcement bringing my overall damage set bonuses to +20, +50 with double assault. Lastly, I tossed an extra slot in to Spiderlings and tossed in the two Def Aura pet IOs. Call Reinforcements and Summon Blaster each have one of the Res Aura IOs. Ive always wanted to try these out since my pets contribute a lot to my setup, but I was just never able to find the slots for it. Never thought I would be able to shuffle things around to get all 4 Aura IOs but its looking good now. Pets will have +30 Def with auras and double maneuvers, and +30-40 S/L Res with inherent res and auras. Not bad!

Damage has not been sacrificed as all my pets/attacks still hover around +130% with boosting and Musculature alpha.

    Anywho, heres the new setup...

The Performance Shifter End Mod/Recharge IO in Stamina is gaining you about 0.06 end/second. If you got rid of it and instead applied that slot to endurance cost reduction in Maneuvers (Pool) you could save yourself 0.12 end/second.

Although Hover does convert knockback into a flipping animation, you are still being crowd controlled and delayed. Even my characters that fly or hover all the time invest in a minimal level of knockback resistance.

To get the extra slots for Gaussian's and the Knockback protection IO, I would slot Fortification the same as Tough, with Hami-O's.

I don't know how much you exemplar, but... for your pets, I would use full-strength level-50 Expedient Reinforcement instead of level-30 Call to Arms. Your enhancement values will be better and you can get 3% damage bonuses and 3.13% ranged defense bonuses, which I think are more useful for your ranged DPS build.

And this is more of a question than a recommendation... does the Kismet +6% Accuracy unique really add anything useful to your build? Due to the large number of 9% and greater accuracy bonuses in IO sets, you can easily have a capped 95% chance to hit even level 54 Rikti drones without taking this unique.
All good points, and honestly, all were considered when I was tweaking this build before I took a break last year.

I wanted to build to be able to exemp very effectively which is why I slotted a lot of IOs at minimum level, but at this point Ive realized that even without the sets I will still do well on lowbie teams and am better off slotting for full effect with 50+5s for end game. Grabbing the new SoA SATOs also helped reinforce my choice of ditching the exemp slotting since their bonuses act like purple IOs.

I dont want to touch Fortifications slotting because 4 slots gets me a max end increase. Since end is my biggest enemy I would feel much more comfortable having that max end as high as I can since every bonus and inherent works off of it.

I really wanted to slot the Gaussians set but Im walking a fine line on perma-hasten/pets now that Ive switched Hasten from 3 to 2 slots. I was only a second or two off from perma but that just wasnt good enough for me. Also, Im not a huge fan of the build up proc as it has just never worked out for me, personally. Its just too unreliable.

The last thing I did before taking a break was finish getting enough Amerits to get the PvP 3% def IO and had nowhere to toss it without respecing so I just replace my -KB IO in the crab armor. I knew I would eventually fix that and now I have by getting rid of a slot in Hasten. I know Hover mitigates KB to an extent, but the flipping animation bothered me greatly.

The Kismet IO, as mentioned, is incorrectly described as it actually gives you a +6 to-hit and not accuracy. +6 to-hit is a pretty decent buff (which is why the lev10 crafted IO sells for 100M) and it was slotted with exemping in mind. Once again though, with all my purple sets and so on, I feel okay with ditching it for a Def/End in maneuvers. Added def and lowered end is good in my book.

Also, with +5 boosting I was able to comfortably get rid of the 4th slot in Stamina with the End/Rech and move that over to try out something else Ive wanted to try for a while.

Im very happy with this new revision... will post it in just a bit.
  16. Dont understand the slotting behind Heavy Burst. Venom Grenade in to Heavy Burst will put a world of hurt on your enemies so you should be slotting for damage. I recommend 3 dmg/range Hami-Os for an 80 ft max damage cone. You should start of all your encounters with Venom for the res debuff. 2 slots in it is an injustice especially when you're throwing 6 in to web grenade.

Damage modifier on SoA is 1.0 range and melee so I wouldn't call that low. If you build high recharge you can spam AoEs for a high damage output. Combine that with pets and you're steamrolling. I run Musculature alpha so that puts my enhancement damage value at 130ish on attacks. With double assault and damage bonuses that's another 50 putting me at +180% damage on all my attacks. As was mentioned, your Gaussian build up should not be calculated in to your dmg as it doesn't proc often enough to be reliable. If you want more reliable boosts go with build up (if you can deal with the mace animation).

Sad to see that you're not doubling up on your maneuvers/assault, especially as a Huntsman as that's kinda their shtick. SoA get good values out of power pools so by not taking assault and maneuvers you're missing out on +15 dmg/5 plus def on your pets and teammates.

There's other ways I would go with this but I jus wanted to point out my main concerns with this build.
  17. I still feel that there's more to the AoE formula aside from dividing by max targets. Like I mentioned before, I'm using the SoA proc in a cone AoE and it triggers very often. Much more than I would expect from a 10% chance as the formula would suggest.

Also, I threw the other 5 into a ST attack for the awesome purple set bonuses which allowed me to make some adjustments in my build that I've always wanted to do but couldn't sacrifice in other areas. All is well over in SoA land with these ATOs.

I sure wish I knew the exact formula for PPM in AoE though. I'm considering switching out the Posi proc in my AoEs for the SBE ones if the overall proc chance was higher.
  18. I ran through SSA6 on my rogue crab so I had to fight Hero Penny Yin. She melted in seconds so I didn't even notice the awesomeness of her Psy Melee everyone has been raving about.

Any videos out there of it?

Curious about this as well. I slotted the Superior SoA proc (5 ppm) in to Heavy Burst (12 sec, 10 targets)... per the math, each target should only have a 10% chance of being affected, but this doesn't seem close to what I'm actually seeing in game. I'm seeing big chunks of mobs getting hit with fear, much more than 10%.
  20. If you use Steam Jump or the Good vs Evil jump pack while flying with afterburner it should boost your speed to cap. Just a tip for those who would live to know what is like to fly at afterburner cap.
  21. I'm cool teaming with any Spider that takes double leadership, honestly.
  22. Also, if I recall correctly, Z mentioned something special will be happening tomorrow. He almost said something like "Smissue" after that so wasn't sure if he was trying to create an i22 red herring or what. This was mentioned early on and prior to the Pummit tickets going on sale.

Edit: I just watched it again, says its at about the 2:30 mark then immediately goes in to Pummit talk so not sure if it's related or not.
  23. I'm rogue on Virtue so I could help you out if you play there.
  24. Arachnos Rifles have 3 different grenades that they can fire so the larger barreled rifles are okay with me.
