My villain: Nocturna Deathtouch's would have to be the original WWE Undertaker's music...
*Lights go out... Dooom, Dooom...*
Well what would you expect on a Dark/Dark Brute with self rez?
[/ QUOTE ]
Curiously enough I think that Bluedarky's would be You're Gonna Pay which was also the Undertakers theme.
Curiously Blue's grandfather was a pro wrestler too. -

Not to mention cute kitty eyes work better than mind control. -

I'm against this, it'd make the game too bizarre.
[/ QUOTE ]
You're playing a game where people can fly, teleport, fire energy beams from their hands, turn invisible, and perform moves like Head Splitter without actually killing the target.
And you think changing sex is too bizarre?
There's a HUGE number of quite valid reasons for being able to do this, most of which have been mentioned already. It doesn't hurt anyone, so why not?
[/ QUOTE ]
You're telling me, if Superman, or Spiderman got his bits swapped, and started sporting a pair of breasts, you WOULD'NT find that odd? Or bizarre?

Very briefly considers what else goes on in the Marvel and DC Universes.
No I wouldn't think it's wierd, in fact I'm now found wondering if they've covered it yet, and if not, why not? -

New power -- Kinetics for masterminds!
Tell me that wouldn't be incredibly fun!
[/ QUOTE ]Fun maybe, grossly overpowered definitely. Unless they nerf the set beyond recognition.
[/ QUOTE ]
IIRC, it was planned originally but pulled because it was way to overpowered. (I think some of the CoV trailers show Kinetic MMs.) -

I know a certain someone who sends a ton of pm's harassing others and he is having fun with this in game.Guess thats the right way to play then.
What a bunch of generalising [censored].

I believe she meant that if your not having fun, or causing others to not have fun, then you're not playing the game properly. -

Found scrawled in the wall of Cell 4, the Ziggurat,
So here I am the door to fame,
But it's not gonna be the same,
I stand here to cause panic and fear,
But you walk past like I'm not here,
You don't even see me,
Or don't you want to see.
So I start off low, busting up gangs,
Taking them all within my hand,
Beating up those who want to stay,
Making them all see it my way,
And then when I won it all,
That's when I started to fall.
So then I went and got caught,
Resigned to lose like I ought,
And then luck comes my way,
Arachnos comes to save the day,
Opens up the door to my cell,
Releases me from this hell.
So now I'm back but will you stare,
At the scarred young girl with the purple hair,
Or will you fall into that old trap,
Of scurrying by while I burn my path,
So I have one thing left to say,
I'm back and I am here to stay.

Longbow soilders who fall under the control of a Fortuna's domination will still have to answer for any actions they make while being mind controled. We trained you better than to use excuses like 'I didn't have control over what I was doing.'
[/ QUOTE ]
Remind me, was there a reason why heroes work for Hero Corps rather than Longbow apart from the bad attitude of the Longbow commanders. -
Right, I've used my time from the game to nearly finish this so I'm reviving this thread.
Time for redemption part 2
Midnight in Mercy Redemption Part 2
A message from Longbow for a deniable agent was rare, even more so for a registered villain, I'd served time in the Zig like most Rogue Isle villains. But I'd served my time and not left with an Arachnos troop like most villains. I once watched a fight break out between three inmates for the last place on the flyer. I wasn't stupid, I was only a bounty hunter after all, I brought the one who won his place on the flyer back to Longbow after I was released. He cheated in the fight, I hate cheaters above all things.
The sub was waiting like he had said, I boarded quickly. Once onboard I was 'escorted' to the Commander's 'Office', actually a small room towards the Forward of the sub just big enough for a filing cabinet, two chairs and a desk. The Commander motioned for me to sit down and I did checking behind me for anything more deadly than the Longbow recruits had outside the door. As I mentioned earlier, a lot of people wanted me dead, and a lot can happen in the middle of the ocean with no escape, I'm sure any Longbow agent could find an excuse to kill me and ditch the body in the ocean, well, that's what I thought then anyway.
The subs Commanding Officer wasn't the one who'd rang me earlier, not unless he'd been turned female by some experiment in the last ten minutes anyway, she had red hair tied back in a ponytail and a Longbow Standard Issue Assault Rifle was leaning at arms length from her. Again I regretted not insisting on keeping my swords instead of handing them in to the Longbow Agents inside the door in a show of good faith.
The Commander had a sheet of paper on the desk with a Arachnos coded message on it. Even upside down I could read it was an execution order. I couldn't see who it was for but that it was sent to all the Rogue Isles bounty hunters. But the last execution order I had from Arachnos was three weeks ago. And this was dated today. She noticed me staring at the report and shuffled it under the papers to avoid me seeing the name printed.
You know anything about the mission? she asked calmly, It was a rhetorical question I could see it in her eyes, the phone call had been monitored and every word recorded, she wanted to distract me from the order.
If there's an Arachnos order waiting for me at home you can forget it, I replied simply, they wouldn't let me go, but I knew that it would make it more likely for them to tell me what it was about.
You won't get this one, she replied, It was deemed to personal, in fact, it's why your here.
Too get to the target first? I asked, I was no fool, if Longbow showed interest in an Arachnos target, they wanted it saved.
Of course, she replied.
Where's my drop point? I asked.
Don't you want to know who the target is? asked the commander confused.
Why bother? I replied truthfully, For a two-hundred million target, I just follow the explosions. Beside, as you said, the target is personal, and the only hero I know personally is my brother. -
Midnight in Mercy Redemption Part 1
Why do I live my life this way, it's a question a lot of people ask me, usually when they' have Smussato or Con Acuto's point at their chin waiting for me to kill them. I suppose the best explanation isn't the details of what happened before I started, or what made me pick up Smussato and Con Acuto and use them to become a bounty hunter in the Rogue Isles. Personally, I think it's this one.
It began on a slow night, the only job I'd got was to bring a Dyne merchant into the governor of Port Oakes hands, I had the idiot at the point of my blades when my phone rang almost shocking the poor fool into feeding my blades himself. I lowered Con Acuto, made it clear that if he tried to escape then I'd kill him there and then and answered my phone to a voice from the past.
Hello Rebecca, said the voice on the other end of the phone, Or should I say Midnight-Strike?
How did you get this number? I replied a little harshly already making plans on getting rid of the phone and taking a new identity, a little extreme you may think, but the voice on the other end belonged to one of Longbow's top agents, as my job often required me to kill I didn't want Longbow able to track me at all.
That doesn't matter, replied the voice, What does matter is that I need a deniable agent for a job.
How much? I asked automatically, my life was worth a lot of money on the Rogue Isles. If a group hadn't hired me then they wanted to kill me.
Always the same Rebecca, replied the voice on the other end of the phone, Straight to the point, allow me to say that if you succeed you will be reimbursed for your lost earnings. I simply require you to meet me at the docks in ten minutes, I have a sub waiting, you will be briefed onboard.
I looked at the wretch at the end of Smussato and smiled, the game with this one was over already, the money was only a bonus, I'll be there, I replied.
Very well Midnight-Strike, replied the voice calmly, See you in ten minutes,
I was five minutes away from the docks, I felt no regrets as Smussato sliced his throat and I called in the kill. -
Gratz TomCat, and congratulations to the honourable mentions too.
And good luck to everyone who's posted for CG Jan as I may be offline for a few weeks due to lack of funds. -
This is a short story about my new DB/WP Brute Midnight-Strike. Enjoy.
(May grow later without warning).
Rebecca sat outside the small café in Mercy Island, business in the café was slow and judging by the coffee wouldn't be picking up any time soon. The paper though was a different story, lots of big name villains had been active recently although the Rikti War had pushed them from the front page it hadn't stopped them killing each other to rise to the top. She stirred the thick sludge the waitress had called coffee and smiled at the idiots blasting down bank walls and fighting to get into the news.
An article caught her eye, barely a footnote mentioning a scientist researching time travel in a lab on the Rogue Isles. She circled it along with an coded advertisement placed by Mickey the Ear about an Arachnos bounty. She finally took a sip of the so called coffee before going to see the owner of the café about how she liked her coffee.
A few hours later decked out in her battle armour she waited on the rooftops as Midnight-Strike for the sun to set before diving into the streets with the twin blades Smussato and Con acuto strapped to her back, she ran though the streets until she came across the warehouse where Mickey had said the Hellions were holding the scientist involved in the time travel experiments. She knew that the bounty that Lord Recluse had placed on this guys head meant that there would be an army between her and the target. But that was the way she liked it. -
WHat server would this be on?
Seriously, I just lost my job and need a laugh. -

A Time of Need
Bluedarky looked around the landscape, blank was the only word he could use to describe it, there was no movement, no shapes, no colours, not even shades of grey, just eternal nothing.
Yup, it gets you like that the first time, stated a gruff voice from below him, Bluedarky twisted around to get a look at the speaker, he was dressed in a loud shirt and jeans and sported greying hair.
Where is this? asked Bluedarky a little concerned, he'd seen many things around Paragon City but this was brand new to him.
Your dead sonny, replied the man with a toothless grin, Just like everyone else here.
Pardon me for saying this, replied Bluedarky solemnly, But I thought the afterlife would be a bit more, well, more?
Oh, don't worry, replied the old man, This is just one part of death, you probably won't be here for long, they're probably working to get you back to life now, this is Limbo, where all lost souls go, as well as the banished and those who the afterlife isn't ready for yet.
You mentioned others, commented Bluedarky looking around.
Aye, but seeing them is a matter of skill, and allowing them to see you even more so. So, how'd you end up here anyway?
It's a long story, replied Bluedarky, We may not have time if I'm due to be brought back to life.
Time here is pretty relative kid, replied the man, In fact, you may have just enough time for your story before they take you back, if you want to go that is.
Well then, replied Bluedarky, Here it is.
-------------------
The Student ran down the corridor followed by the Circle of Thorn mages, Temperature Sprite was down but the network had picked her up and she was probably on her way back now, all as was left though was her and Bluedarky. She ran around the corner and span on her heel, focusing her mind she felt her way into the mind of one of the front mages and implanted the suggestion that the other mages were heroes in disguise, convinced the mage span and started to cast spells at the other mages. The confusion would only buy her a few extra moments though, she ran down the corridor to where Bluedarky was waiting.
When she arrived in the entrance hall Bluedarky pushed a large statue in front of the door to prevent the mages from getting through then looked at The Student.
Only seven or eight, said Bluedarky sarcastically, Easy in and out job.
The Student looked down at her feet, it was her fourth mission and having been assigned to Bluedarky for street training by Sister Psych she was still extremely nervous, not least because she couldn't read his mind to tell whether he was annoyed or exhilarated from the chase. 18 years growing up and being able to read minds didn't exactly help your people skills, still at least she didn't have to wear the ugly excuse for an inhibitor that G.I.F.T. had forced her to wear during school any more, she had hated that thing from the moment she saw it.
Bluedarky tapped his sunglasses causing them to beep. Well, no serious injuries here, he said after checking the readout, You?
She shook her head still embarrassed that she had misread the number of minds in the room. Bluedarky came over and examined her new inhibitor to make sure it was still working, she wasn't sure why she had to wear it as she was using her powers regularly now, but Sister Psych and Antonio Nash had insisted she wore it at all times. Bluedarky regularly took a look at it although he was always careful to never take it off.
Temperature Sprite should be here in a minute, responded Bluedarky to the unasked question of how to advance, I'll get in touch with L.O.C.A. for some specialist equipment to deal with these idiots. What are they doing now?
The Student went to cast her mind through the statue and the door before she fell down screaming, Bluedarky ran over to her quickly as the news report came in through his earpiece.
Reports from heroes all over the city suggest that all our cities heroes have been rendered powerless, other reports confirm not only this but the teleport network is disabled, all available heroes who have retained their powers are to report to Hero Corps in Galaxy City immediately.
Amanda, said Bluedarky urgently, Are you alright?
Better than ever, replied The Student before shooting a hand out for Bluedarky's throat. -
Sorry I can't come up with anything but keep trying,
personally I've spent 5 hours on a character before, and gone back for powerset/AT/origin changes,
I want my mate to play but I'm scared of how long he'll spend in the costume creator, he spent an hour designing his character once, in WoW.
Just experiment, and don't be afraid to go totally of the wacky end of the scale once in a while, you may find a look that suits her after all. -
