top hats, monacles, B&W costume
[/ QUOTE ]
Top hats, yeah, B&W costumes, interesting... but monocles? Are those actualy available in-game? I seem to remember searching through the options for one when I was designing a Victorian Gentleman costume for my main... closest you can get is the 'tech' monocle', which is NOT 50's...
If there really are classic-style monocles available, please let me know where I can find them - it would really complete my costume! -
In 'friendly' raids, which are the only kind available at the moment, everything destroyed is restored after the battle. However, once IoP's arrive with I7, 'hostile' raids will be possible, and in those, stuff that's destroyed usually STAY that way...
-
Finally, we're done... congratulations to Blue Rabbit, SatanaZ and Fulla, who all scored the badge along with me. Thanks to y'all for sticking around 'till everybody had it, and once again thanks to Green Witch who provided the confusion, from start to finish, in spite of two incidental death-by-mob's, and the resultant debt.
And to all of you who wants to show it off: Use /settitle 118 to show your true collors as Longbow Spec-Ops! -
Nice going, Q - now you only need to get ONE MORE character to 50, and you can join the 'no-life' club...
-
Providing that the 3rd Shadow Shard TF, which I'm starting around noon on sunday, doesn't end up extending into monday... then I'm good with daytime monday, too. If it does, however, I may end up being a bit late...
-
Ehm, just something I need cleared up...

on sunday the 16th at 12pm GMT.
[/ QUOTE ]
At risk of sounding like a Matrix-quote, "There IS no 12PM..." It's called "12 noon" and "12 midnight" to avoid confusion. So, just to de-confuse myself, you DO mean 12 noon, right? 'cuz starting a very long taskforce at 12 midnight would seem somewhat inadvisible... -
Hmm, Sunday I'll be doing the 3rd Shadow Shard TF, and that may well spill over into Monday... the ideal would be tomorrow, Saturday - at 20:00 CET/7PM GMT like last time? I'll check with Green Witch tonight to see if she's up for it, too.
-
Hmm... y'know, this change just helps to highlight the NEED for some kind of command to get your hencies to STICK CLOSE. I mean, even if you're just running along at ordinary speed, with no special speed enhancements, the Henchmen doesn't start following you 'till they're outside of Supremacy range, and hence Bodyguard range - which means that you can still get one-shotted 'on the move'.
-
Okay, that went well... TAILMAN got his badge, and the rest of us got varrying ammounts of progress towards it, depending on how long they were 'round. Thanks to everybody who joined us, even if it was only for a while, and particular thanks to Daisychane and Green Witch for lending their powers of confusion to the party.
So, for those who didn't finish the badge - is there interest in arranging a new evening of Longbow-ganking? And if so, what weekday would be preferable? -
Oh yeah, I remember... it was doing that when I ran the 4th TF a while back, too. I would've HOPED they'd fixed it by now, but I guess no... -.-;
-
II need this too - unless a chosen time conflicts with something else, I'll be happy to join. Don't have any alts low enough to spawn 'em, though.

im in, what time is this in GMT?
[/ QUOTE ]
7 PM, I believe... but what with Daylight Saving Time entering into the equatation, I may be wrong.
Anyway, sounds like lots are interested, so we'll probably go with it. Just head to Bloody Bay at the appointed time, if there isn't too many others 'round, we'll just hijack the Broadcast for necessary comms, but I doubt it'll really be a problem - shouldn't be much more than one team's worth. -
I'm in - BlackDragon, level 48 BS/DA scrapper with Teleport and Recall Friend - helps with getting 'round in the Shadow Shard.
-
Okay, guess we've got a small team, at least. How's Thursday work for everybody? 'round 20:00 CET in Bloody Bay (Much less crowded than Siren's...)
This is subject to change if it turns out that my main planter can't make it there, but since she's on most nights from 19:00, it shouldn't be a prob.
If any heroes try to spoil our fun by attacking our planters, we just take advantage of our confusion to punch 'em out...Say, I wonder if you get Rep for that...
EDIT: A quick rundown on how Confuse works in PvP. Every time you attack, your target will randomly switch to another mob or player within your sights, friend or foe. You can 'focus' on a target with some clever camera-work - you'll never target something that isn't visible on-screen. This means that blasters will be wanting to go into close combat, too, but since the enemies won't be fighting back, that shouldn't be a problem...
AoE's hits friends and foes alike, so take it easy on those... actually, I'm not sure if they don't hit yourself, too, if you're close enough to the target...
The basic strategy is this: We find a good, big mob of Longbow, and assemble near the Dominators. They confuse us, and we rush in and kill as many Longbows as possible untill Confusion wears off - then we reassemble near the dominators for re-confusion. Rinse and repeat.
One final note, though - Longbow Officers will neutralize confusion in whoever goes near 'em. If possible, they will be disposed from a distance, or pulled off by the Dominators - otherwise, they'll just be bypassed along with whatevr troops are within their area of effect. -
Here's the deal - I'd like the Reformed badge, which can currently only be gained by killing 1000 Longbow in the PvP zones, while confused. I've got a friendly Plant Dominator with Seeds of Confusion to help this happen.
Now, Seeds of Confusion is an AoE power, so she can easily Confuse a full team of heroes... and the more people that are out there, fighting Longbow, the faster everybody gets the badge.
So, I'm just wondering if there's anybody around that are interested in joining in for the badge-hunt? The Dominator is available most nights after 19:00 CET (Meaning 18.00 to the Brits, I believe...) - and I'd like to hear some feedback from interested parties on which weekdays would fit them best.
Depending on response, the battle will probably go down sometime next week.
Oh, and if anybody else has a Mind/Plant dominator and is willing to help with the confusion - well, the more the merrier... -
Inviting for tonight was a bit short notice... not everybody checks the boards every hour.
Tuesday at 8 is fine. GMT, I presume.
-
Fair 'nuff. Send me a PM or ingame message when you get tired of waiting - I'm usually available...
-
I've got a level 20 Defender who missed it... the only one of my alts that I didn't get it on.
Would like to tag along and pick it up - when are you running it? -

edit: 1 more question,... Hoover Vs Flight in combat. Boost endurance cost in flight, or speed in hoover to maintain airborne in fight, and not to slow? cheers
[/ QUOTE ]
Hover, since it also gives a defence-boost. 'round 5% unslotted, as I recall - but every little bit counts. -
Heh, no plans to write more along those lines... I just saw Sin City and got inspired. Try to imagine the story in black-and-white with the occasional touch of red...

Paragon City. The Birthplace of Tomorrow. The city so nice, they named it twice...
Yeah, right. If you look up 'Paragon' in a dictionary, it'll tell you that it means a 'peerless example' of something. And if there's one thing Paragon City isn't, it's peerless. You can't walk down a street without seeing at least 3 muggings, and you can't throw a rock without hitting a handful of gangsters, monsters, or other assorted villains. Which isn't really a good idea, all things concidered.
From half-brained gangs roaming the streets of Atlas Park and Galaxy City, to 10-stories tall monstrosities walking across the mutated landscape of 'The Hive', the city is flooded with forces bent on its destruction. Hardly a day goes by without another kidnapping, arson, and murder. That's 'and', not 'or'. And that's not even getting into all the stuff that the ordinary citizens never find out about - all the close calls, where some 'evildoer' nearly succeeds in pulling off a plot that would destroy the entire city, or further flood it with enemies, or something along those lines.
If my contacts are anything to go by, those things happen several times a week.
And the people who've got the thankless task of stemming this flood of impending disasters... well, that's us. The famous 'Heroes' of Paragon City. We're as much a symbol of the city as that oversized statue in Atlas Park. They say that the only reason the city continues to stand is because of us. And they're right. The question nobody asks, however, is 'for how long'. All it takes is for one 'hero' to screw up, and the whole thing comes crumbling down. Faultline proved that, and now he's got a sector named after him.
We're fighting day in and day out - some of us literally fight nonstop, because our abilities means that we don't need sleep or food. For others, it's strictly a part-time job. A few even maintain secret identities, trying to run a real life alongside their superhero career. Yeah right.
And for all our battles, what have we got to show? Status Quo, that's what. We're keeping them all in check - the Circle of Thorns, the Devouring Earth, the Nemesis Army, and all the rest - but we're not pushing them back. Not one step. They attack, we block, and then the whole thing starts over again. And how long will we even be able to keep that happening?
Thigns are developing, and not in a good way. The Rogue Islands have started interferring in the business of Paragon City... Arachnos looms in the horizon as a greater thread than any of the villainous groups who concider Paragon City their home. Where those are twarted again and again, the Arachnos thugs have been repeatedly pulling off one heist after the other, right in the heart of Paragon City. Statues have been destroyed, banks have been robbed, heroes have been defeated and even killed...
The delicate balance we've maintained for years have been disturbed, and now it's tipping us right into the abyss... there are many of us, but there are more of them. We don't have the manpower, or the resources, to both keep our internal enemies at bay, and keep Arachnos off of our shores. Siren's Call stands as a tribute to this fact, embroiled in an endless battle between us and them... some might say that we're holding our ground, but fact is, the entire sector is 'our ground'. The fact that they're there at all is a defeat.
So here I am - a hero. Fighting for truth, justice, and all that crud. A battle that, by the looks of it, can never be won. And if it COULD be won - what would the reward be? Simple. We'd render ourselves obsolete. Useless. When all evil has been defeated, who needs heroes? If we loose, we loose - if we win, we loose. And yet, we fight. All day, all night, weeks becomming months and months becomming years. For what we believe in, to protect what we hold dear, for vengeance, for whatever reason caused each of us to join this exercise in futility.
And I'm right there, in the middle of it all, fighting alongside all the rest. And I'll probably keep fighting as long as my strength lasts. Just because.
A siren... the crisp midnight air makes it even more audible than usual. Sounds like an fire-truck. Yeah... there's a red glow visible between the skyscrapers. Somewhere over to the east. The Hellion arsonists strike again. There'll be thugs to defeat, fires to put out, and people to rescue. Maybe it'll help take my mind off of all this...
I leap off of my lofty peak, becomming one with the night as I fly towards the flickering light. -
Aye, sucks with the 'Ancilliary' Pools, too. Weapons Master, Darkness Mastery, both of them forces you to redraw your weapon after launching one of their attacks. Dunno 'bout the Laser Eyes attacks from Body Mastery, though...
-
Ah, very nice. 5 times the energy-production of my old Power Crystal...
HOWEVER... I FORTUNATELY took the time to copy my character into the Test Server to check out the stats on the Ley Tap before constructing it. While I can't fault the stats (even though the price is still ridiculous), I discovered that the damn thing's TOO BIG to fit in the smallest-size power-room, which is of course exactly what I've got...
Upgrading to a bigger power-terminal would cost an additional 600.000 Prestige, and would push the capacity of the plot to the limits - not an option at the moment.
Well, at least it's THEORETICALLY useful. I'll keep the salvage handy for the future, when we can afford to upgrade to a bigger plot.
...yeah right. -
Okay. Big question. The Ley Tap is apparently and improved powersource - no idea what the Tech version is called. I can make it with the Advanced Forge. I just managed to gather the huge ammount of salvage necessary. I NEED to know the data before I waste it all...
Is it really better than the standard powersource? If so, how much? And how much does it cost? -
Whoa, did someone forget to lock the door to the retirement-home? Seems we're getting overrun with old folks... now, if they also start talking 'bout how they used to walk across Independence Port without any travel-powers... uphill both ways...
