  1. Everything going down as planned, I assume? Where do we meet, the main hall of the Longbow Base? I'll be the guy playing Godzilla on the city map...
  2. Eh, looks like it's just you and me, Doc. Gimme your character-name and global callsign, and I'll drop you a line next time I'm on...
  3. It's 25-30, so yeah, you're past it...
  4. Got the mission for the Agent of Discord badge... just wondering if anybody's missed it and would like a chance to tag along and grab it. Not sure how long I'll sit on the mission, though...
  5. I wonder if the Forcefields from Kinetia and Chisel's acc-debuff makes Ghost Widow's Dark Regen inaccurate enough to be beatable...
  6. The entrance is in Atlas Park - inside the City Hall, to be precise... in D.A.T.A's booth.

Oh, and just a FYI for those who've already got most of the Signature Villains... there's a badge for taking 1000 pillboxes, so you've still got a reason to join in.
  7. Thanks for the trade, man... excellent exchange-rate.
  8. Oh, we're in business all right... I've got a bunch of tech stuff on various alts. I'll gather it on my main, and then we can do business... just say a time and a place, and we'll meet.
  9. Yeah, or at least, it's ONE of them... the most used one, though.

I'm already a member, and I'll be sure to announce my Mayhem missions when I get 'em with my level 25... the more the mayhemmer! :P
  10. My level 50 BS/DA/DM Scrapper will be there, to put the fear of Antiheroes in the black hearts of Recluse and his dastardly crew.

I'm working on Tuesday, but I should be back by 7 PM...
  11. I will add my voice to those before me in a mighty congratulations to the most polite and pleasant person on Defiant - and, quite likely, on the planet as a whole.

Hope to see you again soon...
  12. Yeah, I guess that's a pirate Ghost in a Nutshell...
  13. *points at Lord Recluse* He's been messing with that super-spell again!
  14. I'd say both... I mean, they ARE the ghosts of pirates, hence pirate ghosts is accurate - but 'Ghost Pirate' is a common term for the ghosts of pirates, so that fits just as well. So yeah, it's not an 'or' question.
  15. Right, I fixed up a few binds to shift+mouse, works nicely... just makes the pets kinda' spammy, with a 'Going there' line immediately followed by an 'attacking that' line...
  16. Guess not... right, just checkin'. Y'know, it's kinda' funny how some of the mission-badges in CoV seems to be rarer - more frequently requested. Like, Strike Breaker and Stone Cold - there just seems to be more people missing those, than missing Slag Reaper, Bone Collector and the rest...
  17. I've got a Necro/Dark Mastermind, and even though I love the concept, I'm constantly wishing I picked mercs instead... I mean, at the moment I've got 3 zombies and a Grave Knight. When I tell them to attack a target, here's what happens: The grave knight runs in to the maximum range of his longest Shadow Blast, and stays there. 2 of the zombies runs into vomit-range and stays there. And the last zombie runs into close combat. This makes it VERY hard to keep 'em all healed up with Twilight Grasp, and COMPLETELY impossible to keep them all within Supremacy-range.

Is there any way I can convince these brain-dead corpses to stick together?
  18. I'm up for it anytime with my level 23 Mastermind... <-- Badge-hunter.

But by the sound of it, we're gonna need more 20+'s to SK you guys up... after all SF's spawn foes based on the max level of the SF itself, in this case 20... but I'm sure you already knew that...
  19. I just picked up the mission for the Slag Reaper badge. Anybody interested in comming along for the ride and picking it up too? I'll leave it hanging for a day or two just to see if anybody's interested...
  20. What about End-reduction? Will that reduce the endurance-drain of the henchie's powers, rather than reducing the endurance-cost of summoning them? Bummer...

    Slow Hand Clap

I'm kinda' surprised it wasn't there in the first place... but what was I supposed to do? It's the official title, and I wouldn't wanna mess with the intelectual property of John gabriel... :P

Bridger sure edited it snappily, though... although I wouldn't say that it 'contains adult content' per se. Unless he's referring to Penny Arcade as a whole, in which case I DO suppose it contains adult content...

    Slow Hand Clap

I believe there's actually been a scientific study made on it... it's called The Impact of Anonymity on Disinhibitive Behavior Through Computer-Mediated Communication.

If that's a bit too heavy for ya, though, Penny-Arcade's Gabriel paraphrased it into a somewhat more easy-to-read version, Link [Warning, contains adult content].

Once again, education has been merged with entertainment... that's why us CoH-types are so much smarter than the WoW-crowd.
  23. Silver Weasel basically beat me to what I was gonna add - that 'Natural' simply translates into 'Natural for who you are'... the same way Superman is a 'Natural-origin' hero, because he's an ordinary Kryptonian. Having access to super-high-tech gadgets would ordinarily be Tech-origin, but suppose you're from the far future, and got thrown back to the present due to some sort of accident or deliberate experiment? Then your high-tech gadgets would basically be high-school physics at work, which definitely falls under the 'Natural' heading. I mean, I'm pretty sure I could fix up a few things to wow a crowd if I got thrown back to mediveal times...

And indeed, just looking at the relative level of technology available in the CoH universe, the 'Traps' set is fairly low-tech, and the assault-rifle available through the Merc-set is definitely yesterday's news - I mean, Robot MM's gets a Pulse Rifle! Even Assault-Rifle blasters/corruptors uses more advanced hardware - combining a grenade-launcher, a sniper-rifle, a flame-thrower, a bean-bag gun and a shotgun into an assault-rifle is certainly beyond what technology is available today, y'know?

Another good example is Punisher - most people would call him Natural-origin, right? But still, he has an arsenal of more-or-less futuristic weapons, and at least in some versions, a semi-intelligent remote-controled van. But he can still kick your [censored] with his bare hands if he has to - hence, Natural.

I guess the only bit that's kinda' hard to explain away is the Teleportation-bit... but there's no reason why THAT can't be tech-origin, while your overall origin remains Natural, y'know? Lots of comic-book heroes and villains are 'combined origin' - take Wolverine, for instance. He's obviously Mutant-origin, but his adamantium skeleton was inserted scientifically... he remains Mutant, however, because he's still dangerous as hell without the adamantium...

And Cyclops - his optic blasts are Mutant-origin, but the visor he uses to control them with is Technological. Even Superman has been known to use high-tech stuff, of Kryptonian origin or otherwise, quite frequently. Few metahumans can really stick to their origin 100%...

So, you're a tactical expert with a group of hardened mercenaries at your disposal, an ordinary assault-rifle if you feel like joining into the fray, some basic martial-arts skills as is expected of all military personel, and some relatively low-tech devices used to provide support for your men... but on your travels, you've stolen a teleportation-device from a mad scientist/found an artifact with teleportation-powers in an ancient ruin/recovered a teleportation-device from a crashed UFO/were cybernetically enhanced to grant you the ability to teleport at will...

    Da Old School!

Aye, I'm still here... sorta. Left for a while, but back for now. Does that count?
