there's a good discussion on blaster primaries in the archery thread on the other pvp forum.
/em is sadly the only secondary if you hope to play with the big boys (freedom kb's, zone when teams are running). -
You do know you'll be taking orders from the guy that sets up tournaments with "no travel powers" on.

remember, even though the ladder has often positioned itself as a sort of antithesis to fiteclub, there's a huge tendency towards self-regulation on behalf of the player base (case examples: 2 sonic teams before i10 or so, myk screaming for a max of 2 forts per team as a rule, vori's, vrc's and DR's responses towards how renegades and ujl used mm's to neuter stalkers, and most people's responses towards droning and twixt-style play.) -

you will never catch anyone off guard with end drain unless you're fiteclubbing an idiot that refuses to kite. and dark melee is not good. period. siphon life causes heal suppression, and you have nearly 0 burst, which is what you really want on a pvp brute.
DPS gets you nowhere if you have to chase your target around. -

i have a spines/regen, fully io'd with pvp sets and purples, and it takes at least two stupid moves to get me killed.
the trade off is this: you have to spend a lot of inf. on it. you have to have enough recovery sets to run without stamina (so you have have leadership), while also retaining enough bonuses to cap your hp (easy) and have a respectable damage bonus (a total of 30%+).
if you have the money, regen will outdo a wp. if you're poor and/or want an acceptable pvp stalker with minimal investment, go wp. -
