definitely not giving up on the elec/stone, as a stone brute is pretty useful in quite a few other tf-ey situations, but i've decided to also spec my mind/ice for rsfs. -

also, remember how underwhelming psi blast is in PVE when it comes to blasters. it does not even begin to compare to fire (for aoe) or ice (for single target dps).
i think we don't have psi because during proliferation rounds, psi blast would have required them to rework the blast set in the way they did it for blasters and since there's a lot less players red-side, it did not seem like a worthwhile pay off if they could just do it first for blaster, data-mine and figure stuff out. then giving corrs TA without archery would have made a lot of RP-ers e-angry so they didn't give it to us back then.
...anyways.
psi blast on corrs would mean i'd need to make a 4th cold corr... which is not as thrilling as it sounds. -

Yep, really. Hard to keep the pressure on them with the confuse and they do alot of damage and generally have a good few attacks, so slowing their damage is a problem.
I havent tried Ill or TA against Doms but i think TA would be disastrous, Ill would work if you can do enough damage, they have good mitigation but unless it is fiteklub it will be hard to do the damage on Ill in zones (especially before RV).
- a good ill/ta can tie against an /elec dom of questionable quality or an /nrg dom that build for heavy melee (TF+bonesmasher spamming).
- benumb doesn't -dmg enough to be significant since everyone and their mom is running a heavy damage build and has firey embrace or build up. dark/cold may seem like an exception here though, but it htink that's just the tearing away of the acc and to-hit slotting in an opponent's attacks / buffs, which is heavily significant. -

So, I've rolled an elec/stone for the sole purpose of RSFing with it with the basic 6 corr + brute + pity spot lineup. I don't want to make this a thread about how every brute can do this. I want a margin of safety that I think only a stone brute in granite can provide.
I want a brute that can sit under the boot taunting the full phalanx (with a few insps popped to deal with the psi), lightning rod-ing, and just keeping agro off the squishies while AVs die to debuffs and dps. I used to do this with my old VG back in the day, but I was always on a corruptor.
I am wondering what my build goal should be if I plan on doing this. Recharge? HP? Regen? Softcap S/L? -

as a fun anecdote, when elusivity got hit, i had a fully io'd and accoladed fire/sr brute.
it was a beastly taunt bot. it had loldarkestnight to suppress people's movements while i chased them with my taunt.
it was a pretty amazing toon. basically made it to kill all the bad ice/ss tankers in RV. and it was just amazing in kickballs.
i logged into that toon after the elusivity nerf.
i hit elude.
taunt two blasters and die in less than 3 mins.
10 mins later i'm in nerva gutting the toon. -

it gets DR'd.
it really depends on your slotting and your specific toon.
DR hits on a per power basis, so 10% of a 500 point attack is 50 points, and for certain playstyles and toons, that's worth it (my fire/elec dom runs assault), but generally, maneuvers for the lotg and kb io is standard practice. -

i wouldn't pick an sr scrapper in a kickball even if the lord of rads ajax was behind the controls. i'd first pick divine and mute him before picking an SR. it's that horrible. -

you should explore options on how to frankenslot life drain for max damage / heal / rchg potential. there's a lot of better ways to slot that thing than what you're doing.
my /mace build took torrent to mess with people without kb protection during i14.
ymmv on that one.
if you're serious about teaming, get web envelope, not webnade, and let other people mez the target while you web everyone.
disclaimer: i've switched my position on /colds to the point i think fire/cold was not even a near optimal choice at all for teaming/dueling. i'm gutting my fire/cold to make a sonic/cold as soon as my sonic/cold is acco'd, and my dark/cold is getting switched to a torrent-less build with dark pit. -
after seeing forst eld h's dark/cold build get as many kills in a 5 minute span as my mind/fire against a bad /elec scrapper, and having been sharked to death twice in a 2v2 last night i'm gonna side with going /leviathan as your patron instead of /mace.
/mace is great for team matches.
