As far as damage goes, they're the strongest for ST. You basically get 3 mini-MA/ scrappers with no crits (unless smoke flash), 2 mini-NB/stalkers, and a mini-FB/FMblaster.
If you have heard that they are not strong the source may have been referring to their squishyness, which is correct lol.
EDIT: in pvp, a good tip (if it works) for a nin mm is to dress up your mm like one of the genin and name him after a badge. Get the badge, set it as title, and give your other genin the same name as you and your name-matching badge. A friend of mine got some of his kills from the extra second or two it took to figure out which one was the mmNever treid it myself, though

scrappers for sure. My main corr can kiiiinda tank. He pulls +0/x6 groups and takes them out before most of them get to him, if they make it out of the RoF/tar patch. Brutes can tank almost as good as tankers.
-
I went with Fire. I wind up never using the fire rounds but that's cool cause then I don't have to switch.

Quote:huh.....didn't know that one. There's a bit of a loophole in this, in that if you invite a second person with you, you won't get four people's worth of spawns (i.e. not you*3 + team-mate), but will rather still remain at three peoples' worth of spawns. That's because the game doesn't count you as three people, it just sets a minimum spawn size. You can go ABOVE that and still increase spawn sizes by being on a team of four or more.

I'm on champ, Wes. If you're on redside and happen to stumble over me I'll team up with ya.
I'm terrible at the drama thing though, not really a boat rocker.... -
Sup Sam!
Hey are you sure it's not just a scaling level mish? I know you can set it that way in AE when creating, but I noticed that some missions are just like that. I run all my new brutes at -1/x3 or x4, and some missions start out blue con, but as you progress they get harder. That's not the issue here though? the only other time I've seen it do that is if I change my diff after getting the mish and I don't reset the mish. -
Welcome Arbiters! Always good to see new villain staff! I mean bad, because bad is good to us, but then it's good but bad cause bad is good and good is bad so enjoying good would be bad but that would be good because good is bad but then.........*seizure*

lol, Me luvs me br00tsmashers, but I honestly can't wait to bring a scrapper over here to redside.
-
-
I can identify, I've been torn over whether to make an AoE-intense elec/sheild scrapper, or brute, or go with an AoE-sapper style of DM/FA scrapper.

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck in the future niv! -

I would like to have you guys come over, the more the merrier

Quote:Still, your input is as well helpful. Man where would I be without the forums......probably 6-slotted with common Damage io's, that's what lol.Not quite. You can't get more than 5 copies of a bonus with the same name.
That's 5 each of Small, Moderate, Large, Huge, Ultimate, and Luck of the Gambler.
This is relevant because Huge and Luck of the Gambler both grant 7.5% recharge, but since they have different names, you can have up to 5 of each and be in the clear.
Note that when I say "names", I mean the names of the bonus, not the set that grants the bonus. Check your Attributes Monitor to see the names of the bonuses.
EDIT: Weird, when I posted this reply, Adeon's response wasn't there, even though he posted it almost an hour and a half before me.... -
Quote:oh ok, I get it. I was readin on that too on P-wiki but you explained it better lol. As a corr, I only have manuvers and shadow fall for defense, but that's good to know for my io'd brute, and whatever small bonuses are coming from the other powers, thanks! It's also important to remember that what matters at the end of the day is the bonus name. For general purposes just the size of the bonus is sufficient but there are exceptions. The standard example is that the Luck of the Gambler global IO gives a 7.5% recharge bonus but it is different from the Huge Recharge Bonus (also a 7.5% bonus) given by some sets (i.e. Kinetic Crash).
The other (minor) complication is with Defense bonuses. Almost all defense bonuses (the exceptions are a handful that boost Psionic defense) actually boost three different defense types (one positional, two typed). For the purposes of rule of five you want to just consider the larger of the values since that is what the name is based on. For example consider the sets [url;=http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Curtail_Speed]Curtail Speed[/url] and Impeded Swiftness. Both boost smashing and lethal defense by 1.25%. However Curtail Speed has a bonus called Tiny Lethal/Smashing/Melee Defense while Impeded Swiftness has a bonus called Moderate Melee/Lethal/Smashing Defense (names might not be 100% correct, I know the basic form but can't recall the exact wording, the basic difference in the form are correct though). Essentially for defense bonuses just use the portion of the bonus with the largest magnitude for determining rule of five violations. -
I love hearing what I want to hear!!! I'll just keep on keeping on then, thanks again for the verification!

I IO'd out my FB/DM corr recently. Then I saw a thread that mentioned within something about the rule of 5. "Rule of 5?!" I thought, this must be one of the only things that I have not learned yet, so off to paragon wiki for info.
"While a character can slot the same (full or partial) set multiple times in different powers, he cannot benefit from more than five copies of each named set bonus of the exact same attribute and amount. This is a stronger restriction than simply being limiting to five copies of each set. It means that if two different sets give the same size bonus to the same thing, the character can't get more than 5x that bonus even if he uses a mix of sets."
Now my corr has 2 full sets of posi blast, full set of glimpse of abyss, 5 pieces of Doctored wounds, a full set of efficacy adapter, full set of dark watcher, and most of the expedient reinforcement, all of which give bonuses to recharge, as I originally intended.
bonus from each: Posi-6.25%
posi- 6.25%
abyss- 6.25%
adapter- 5%
Ex. Rein- 6.25%
DW's D- 5%
D-wounds- 5%
I'd say that's a buttload of recharge, but this rule of 5 has me wondering if this combination put me in line for some diminishing returns. I have 3 5%'s going on, and 4 6.25%'s, and the rule states that it has to be the same bonus number. So, even though I have 7 sets that give me recharge, am I in the clear as far as this rule goes? Do I have to have 5 amounts of 5% or 6.25% for t not to work as well, or am I good to go?
Thanks in advance -

It's true, Hamster! It was in some release notes from Nivene a week or so ago. Vanguard blades of any kind can be used for any sword-carrying hero or villain. I could be wrong on the details, but it's along those lines. I'm pretty sure they would have to be bought seperately still at the crafting table though.

Wow, what a nice little trip back to my Intro to Psych class.
I forgot all about the skinner box!
So if we're being exploited my gaming companies, then we play and find an exploit in the game that's exploiting us, we get in trouble for exploiting an exploiting game of exploitation?
Am I dividing by zero here? lol -
CoV's is the same, because it's aweomely EEEEEEEBIL!!!!

Quote:I have not a hero above lvl 20, but as far as the VEATs are concerned, it's like chopping 30 levels off of the 74 levels total to to get your crab/bane. 50 levels on any toon, then a brutal stuggle uphill with a SoA or Widow, in order to get something decent that you can work with.Look I'm all for everyone having access to everything. But as rare as some recipes are or pvp drops why the hell are you giving away epics.
Some of us where them as pride as actually accomplishing something. Now they become some tripe reward you can easily get in one double exp day got new toon to 24 and didn't even push or farm.
So what took forever, I remember waiting for arachnos soldiers to hit live. We hurried to finish off a villain toon for a hero buddy that hadn't ran villains before. Well now you can get that for not even getting 1/2 way through game. And since we made those 1st 24 levels so easy to get why not just give everybody the damn things with a paid subscription...
But the rest of the game and coming installment looks great. But wow level 20...
