Oh Bill, what're you doing man? C'mon. Give it a try non-purpled out. Not just "at some point."

I have a MA/SD Scrapper too and enjoy playing her a lot, but being realistic it probably won't get you where you want to go as far as challenges go.
  2. Ehh, still not interested in chains. Haven't been doing them all (6) of these years and I still don't need to. That may change with the challenges coming with the Incarnate levels, so I will review my stance on "whack a mole, but with attack powers" at the appropriate time.

No biggie. It is nice for saving some slots.

Oh, you wanted two Miracles and 2 Numina's. That difference is acceptable.

I like having tools for the right situation. Should I fight Knives of Artemis, Arachnos, or whatever, I will be prepared with the always-on bonus. I am not against using inspirations to fix the problem, but I would rather not rely on them the same way I would not want to rely on using blue inspirations if somehow I ran down my blue bar. That is why I ponder keeping Consume at the cost of a percentage point and change on Smashing/Lethal Defense that I could have had from Perfect Zinger. The extra recharge is about 2 1/2 seconds out of 45 seconds. I would practically have to use Build Up for a quarter of an hour non-stop to see a difference of one missing use. That is a drop in the bucket for me and I have a hard time seeing it as otherwise.

  4. *cough*

I'm still having difficulty retrieving that slot. It won't let me get past 36 character slots.
  5. Anybody else care to weigh in? C'mon, this set has to be more played than this.

Seeing FM/SD and DM/SD break the 300DPS mark while my claws/sr hit the wall at 200 was, quite frankly, kinda sad.

Made me annoyed that I couldn't make a claws/sd, regardless of the fact that such a combo would have even MORE ridiculous amounts of AoE damage.
Just out of curiosity Bill, have you ever IO'd out a level 50 */SD?
  7. I won't be using Greater Fire Sword? Are you kidding me? [Edit] Ohhh, I see. You're talking about attack chain, huh? Never been interested in that honestly. I use whatever is up, and if the big hitter is up I'll use that over the small ones.

Titanium Armor is the same amount of Smashing/Lethal Defense bonus. Moving two slots for only one set, just to get 20hp isn't going to have much impact on the character.

I could see going with the Healing Flames change, but either way seems like an insignificant change.

I'm more interested in covering a hole that Fiery Aura has with the Perception bonus. Enhancing the ToHit is a mere side effect of getting the set bonus I want.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Fm/da

Looks like this combination isn't played much.

  10. So I've put this together. Kind of hijacking the thread to see what others think of the build I put together for myself.

It has 90% of what I want out of a Fire/Fire/Fire, plus the numbers for Melee Defense and Smashing/Lethal are reversed now so that the latter is near soft-capped. I could get 1.2% more for Smashing/Lethal Defense if I swap out Consume for Confront and put Perfect Zinger in there, but I kind of want to keep Consume in there to combat any endurance drain/debuff I may encounter. Would that 1.2% make a world of difference, or can I go with Consume? Here is the build:

  11. Ahh, Issue 17. You have made gathering all the goodies and Inf between my characters onto one of them that much more easier. How I love this feature so much.

Ah ha! We finally get a name to attach to "The Sound Guy"! Tell that man he is doing an excellent job and I really appreciate the work he put into making the world that much more immersive! That, and he should get a raise.
  13. Favorite memories surrounding my favorite MMO.
    1. Finding this "Mids Hero Planner" doohickey and getting quite addicted to making character builds. This is one of the main pillars holding the game so high for me. The fact that it is player made and player maintained just goes to show how wonderful our community is. I don't think I can ever thank them enough, and have even donated money in the past.
    2. Seeing a person using Hover for the first time. For get Flight, this robotic character that my friend and I were seeing hovering around put our jaws on the ground. It was awesome. That person can go anywhere they want! They're flying in an MMO!
    3. The threads in these very forums. The silly ones, the serious ones, the ones asking about character build help, the one demanding the flag atop City Hall in Atlas Park be lit at night time, the Unique Dragons, the Sister Flames, the Kill Skulls, the Pretty and Strong. Even without stepping a foot into the game world there is just so much good fun to be had, and that is simply amazing.
    4. The Scrapper subforum. We are the brotherhood and sisterhood of destruction. What an incredibly involved, well thought out, and talented bunch of people they are. Over the past six years the Scrapper subforum has been my home, as it were, in this entire community. I've posted advice, asked for it, got well wishes on a birthday thread I posted in it last year, shared my builds, congratulated other Scrappers that have soloed one or more AVs at the same time, and so forth and so on.
    5. The interaction I've had with developers and community managers over the years. They're all excited and dedicated to their product and it shows! However, the most exciting for me as far as the team at Paragon Studios has yet to come. Their premier expansion is soon to be released and I am already full of thoughts on where else they can expand The City of games!

There used to be a problem with Mids installs where they would override the PvP/PvE setting and set it to PvP. It didn't do this on my install, but it might have on yours.

Another possibility - if you have build up turned on (small green dot on the right hand side of power listing) it's damage boost will be applied to all powers in the power info display.
Those numbers were actually with PvE setting and Build Up turned off. Now... with the settings changed to PvP and Build Up turned on, the damage for Boxing is a whopping
    8026 Damage
