99% of my characters are female. The only male characters I have are by concept.
Gorden Freeman, for example, is a guy.
PPD Shell is another guy, because the costume power stays male gender.
Shadow.Knight (not to be confused with my other Shadow - Knight) is guy just cause.
And while I could make Iron Breaker a female dwarf... I'd rather not.

Quote:Thank you for giving us the opportunity to chime in!Hey, folks. So I have two overarching philosophies when it comes to the Art Direction in COH: first, that we continue to improve the quality bar with every new initiative we undertake and second, that we not forget about the legacy art as this happens. But when it comes to legacy art, there are of course items in the Costume Creator that are starting to show their age. We could hypothetically remake these assets with crisper, more detailed textures and modern shaders and do our best to maintain the 'flavor' and 'feel' of the originals, with the goal of giving you the same stuff, only better.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But then there's a choice on how to deploy them, and that's where this very informal poll comes in: How would you, the players, want to approach this issue?
Quote:HYPOTHETICAL OPTION 1: Old assets would be removed from the Costume Creator menu and you'd have the newer, updated ones instead.
Pro: This raises the overall quality bar of the game by eliminating the oldest, least-attractive pieces; players look cooler; everything looks more consistent and modern. Less menu clutter.
Con: change is scary; perhaps some players will prefer the old pieces?
Old vs. New
Just a hands down better texture. I don't even want to guess the texture size of the old belt compared to the new one.
Old vs. New
Look at that old wing detail. That looks like 18 polygons total. Yeesh. The texture is so blurry and the specularity is just a super-bright spot that doesn't (or barely) interact with the normal map. All of this combined just clashes with the character so profoundly.
It is just infuriating to have these kinds of inconsistencies. I really don't believe any of the old pieces should be left alone.
Quote:HYPOTHETICAL OPTION 2: We leave the old version alone and put the new version immediately below it in the Costume Creator.
Pro: Nothing is 'taken away.'
Con: Outmoded art remains, clashes progressively more with newer, modern assets. Menus swell with 2 options for each basic piece, making it harder to navigate.
Quote:-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So you can see where I stand on this.Personally, I'd like to see the game's art evolve, improve, and remain consistent, so I much prefer Option 1. But as always, I'd be interested to hear what you guys think about this. Do me a favor and please keep your posts short and to the point.
No, I do not. This is a case where keeping the old makes sense for the characters out there that don't actually have one as a part of their body but do want to use a prop tail as part of their costume. There is no issue here for me, as there are no outstanding geometry and texture differences between animated and non-animated tails. -
Quote:Is that how the Fury change worked out? Huh, I thought it was brought down to be able to match Scrapper Damage, but not easily exceed said Damage anymore.Due to the fury nerf, brutes can no longer reach scrapper level damage output except in extreme situations and even then it won't be for more than mere seconds.
Bah, what do I know? -
Y'know, since this is a Defense based character, he could also put in an unslotted Aid Self with one level 50 Heal IO and that would be a 30% heal right there backed by tons of Global Recharge and of course, the Defense to protect it from Interruption. It might not be in-character, but damn if that doesn't sound excellent for extra survivability.

Werner, I know you're making this build to be outfitted on your character in the here and now, but are you interested in making an I19 version of this build?
It's incredible the stuff you can add and rearrange with extra power picks and power slots! -
Quote:Sure! Sacred Fire is a Fire/Fire Scrapper. Here you go!Could I have the build for that?
I've been trying to make a high defense build for a kat/fire scrapper and I can't get the s/l high enough without DA.
(obviously, do open/import the build with Leandro's modified Mids')

Ohh, I gave Sacred Fire's build even more recharge! 15.4s Recharge on Healing Flames without Hasten and 12.1s Recharge with, on top of the 45.1% Smashing/Lethal Defense and 41.1% Melee Defense. Oh so lovely!

Reworked Succubus Kali's build for I19 and am at the softcap for Smashing/Lethal/Fire/Cold/Energy/Negative. Wewt!
-
Because it's incredibly fun.
Making builds and tweaking them is one of the main pillars holding this game up for me. -
-
Well hey, if you want to get serious about it you could mention the timing of the bullets in relation to when the guy fired them. The pistol fires off once and suddenly two bullets are headed towards the Matrix Terminator.

I wish someone had a full transcript. The overview of the panel we've received is nice, but I'd like to read, watch, or hear the whole thing.
-
I can't stand that video. My head feels like it is gonna asplode watching it.
-
Hrm, now I want to mess around in Mids to make some I19 builds.
-
-
-
Just got home, so is there any transcript of the whole panel?
Thanks for the tweets and bulleted lists and such. -
I will be respecing every single Scrapper I have. Every. Single. One.

The Coming Storm!
I actually hope it is revamped Paragon City/Rogue Isles, but maybe that is a little bit outrageous. -
