  1. I'm not sure if you're suggesting that build for me as an alternative or you'd like some advice as well.

If the former, 15 seconds of mediocre Defense is going to get me killed from the way I play, in less amount of time. That downtime from Shadow Meld is just way too dangerous.

It's good that you're left out. Waiting for a GM, no matter how short it may be is still not fun.

    Somewhat related:
  4. To my knowledge, Shadow Meld cannot be made permanent. I'd rather have consistency with the build rather than spiked survivability. Psionics will be painful, but I have Siphon Life and Dull Pain to counter that.
  5. I'm giving a shoutout to GM_Sven! Keep on bein' awesome!

Only five seconds downtime? I could live with that. Thanks for that bit of info!

I'm not terribly interested in Golgi's. I think the Endurance Reduction is good enough in Siphon Life. If only there were a way to get an IO that gave Accuracy/Heal/Recharge/Damage. I would have that and a 42.4% Heal IO.

I am worried about the accuracy. I'd like to get it higher, but I just can't seem to spare any slots for it. The best I could do was one-slotting a Karma 6% ToHit, which is slightly better than four-slotting a Luck of the Gambler. I just checked and the difference between putting in a Cytoskeleton and an Enzyme is a whole 0.1% Defense. The price difference between the two I think is pretty big on the market, and I already have a few Cytoskeletons on hold. To my knowledge (and Mids'), the Enzyme doesn't even boost my Defense Debuff Resist.

Sprinkle in some Enzymes or defense IOs. Still soft capped, but 5% more recharge.
Yeah, that doesn't sound appealing at all. I wouldn't do it either. As it is right now, I am at the very lowest I would tolerate for a single person in Melee for Accuracy. Luckily, my Accuracy gets much better when I jump into a pile of enemies. Which happens very often.

Thanks very much for giving the build a look over! I think this means I am very close to a final build. Well, as close to final build as I can get without factoring the first Incarnate level in.
  8. Oh, and I definitely will not be using Shadow Maul. I have intense hatred for that power, and it is only there for the set bonuses.

[Edit] Oops. I moved the five-slotted Aegis from Unyielding into Tough. S/L Resist should be at 71.4% now.
  9. Hey I'm back with my DM/Inv. I might make one of my builds a DM/Inv/Pyre, but for now I am looking at tweaking DM/Inv/Body.

I'm not opposed to using Inspirations, but I'd like the character to be as self reliant as possible in cases where I do not have the needed Inspiration. I don't mind that I've given up some damage potential for some toughness. That's actually the direction I'm going towards with this character; really living up to the set name Invulnerability. The build is slightly over the Defense softcap for S/L/F/C/E/N with one foe in Melee. It's too bad that Dull Pain is not perma, but I think this is close enough for me. I am wondering if there is any way to get some more Recharge though.

Are you dead-set on the Munitions pool? As Syntax42 said, You could get softcapped s/l/e defense with much better recharge, regen and rec numbers if you went with the Scorpion Pool for the shield. I don't see the FFB proc in LRM being of much use, I find it a lot better in powers you use all the time (Footstomp, Tremor, etc).

If you went the Patron route you could also pick up Total Focus and better slot out your melee stuff.

    Hope that helps
Actually, picking the Patron route I ended up slotting my attacks even worse for regular use.
    (see build below)

I am not opposed to dropping Munitions Pool for better mitigation. Currently though, I do have Munitions and I really love the second AoE attack. That isn't a FFB proc by the way, it is a Recharge/Endurance IO, because I cannot get said stats from any other way.

I'm probably not going to go through the lengths to get any purple or PvP sets for this character, so the Apocalypse is out. The heal procs are just an added bonus and a necessary as part of the set bonus of Recharge, they're nice to have but not the main attraction of the attack being set that way. Besides, Decimation has a 5% chance to fire off as opposed to 10% for Entropic Chaos.

I agree on the Scorpion Shield route. A base 10% S/L defense before slotting is just too good to pass up. That's 4 Kinetic Combats. It *also* bumps Energy.

With that change I would change out the Reactive Armor for Aegis for the F/C defense.

I would also look at Recharge to see if it is possible to go with a Thunderstrike option to cap Energy defense and get Negative up to 30. You give up those tasty 6.25 recharge bonuses in Entropic, but you might appreciate the defense against pure energy and negative types.

Another option to consider is Aid Self instead of Leadership. Your character looks pretty sleak/tech so the animation isn't off for you. I really like the option to heal, and to be honest with all the "keep the NPC alive" content I tend to run solo the Aid Other is actually really handy with a default slot for topping off NPCs.
I have a new build posted below! Please check it out for me. That said, with this new build... giving up the 6.25%'s and picking up Aid Self would both require getting rid of Hasten and a bunch of 6.25% Recharges. Currently the build only has a Hasten downtime of 8.5 seconds. That puts Hail of Bullets at 35 seconds Recharge! *giddy squeal* I love that power! If I do die, well there is always Vengeance for my team mates! I play almost exclusively with large groups. Love it!

This new build has the previous bonuses plus 35.8% Energy Defense. Negative Energy Defense is down to 24.7% though, but I think I don't mind that much at all.

    Thanks for reading again!

It looks okay, but I like using Mace Mastery for Scorpion Shield. That makes it possible to cap ranged, energy, smashing, and lethal defense on almost any build that can use it. Smashing and lethal defenses aren't quite enough for me.
Because I prefer the micro-community here.

Good idea on the Scorpion Shield! I hadn't thought about that. I don't like the idea of having Ice Armor, but didn't think about grabbing Patron stuff. Excellent, thanks!

    i19 question

Those extra 1 slots can be extremely invaluable though. It allows you to free up slot usage for unique IOs so that you can concentrate a little more on set bonuses. Special IOs such as Luck of the Gambler 7.5% Recharge, Steadfast Protection 3% Defense, Gladiator's Armor 3% Defense, Karma Knockback Protection, and etc.

Overall my characters are getting lots more global Recharge from this change, and I like it!
  17. Bah. Werner, I don't understand why you don't have a different install of Mids' just for I19 stuff. How can anybody resist making I19 builds? Having those extra power picks is just oh so tasty!

And thanks for the costume compliments! That portion of the character is just as important as their Mids' build to me!
  18. A Blaster build. It is one "squishy" types I can handle, with Defiance at the very least letting me use tier 1 and 2 Primary and tier 1 Secondary attacks if I am Held, Slept, Stunned, etc. I absolutely love the Dual Pistols animations and currently have the character as Ranged Defense softcapped, but will be changing her over to S/L Defense softcapped in I19.

I think my Endurance should be sustainable with non-stop combat, but I am not quite sure. Am I giving up too much mitigation by having my Melee attacks and Melee Stun with such low Accuracy? Any other oddities pointed out appreciated. Only using Incendiary Bullets.

    Infinite Ammo:

    Highlights:
47 HP away from the Blaster HP cap... but I guess that is not that hard to do.

    73.7% global Recharge.

S/L Defense softcapped, with a decent amount of Melee Defense (35.3%) in case some enemies decide to get up in my grill.

1 AoE and 3 single target attacks with a heal proc.
This build is made with the Issue 19 modified Mids'. Probably won't work at all with the regular Mids'.

  20. Oh wow. Looking at Mids' in PvP mode... Flurry does hit hard. Good grief! Why is a pool power so much better than everything else?! The only thing that comes close is Concentrated Strike from Kinetic Melee and that Recharges at a base 20 seconds!

I don't PvP, so I thought you were possibly joking.

  22. Hrm. I made an Issue 19 Spines/Regen build that is at 41% S/L Defense with 41.3% Global Recharge. The attacks are slightly gimped though.
  23. I've turned Dark Melee into a dark red color for the purposes of Blood Magic on my DM/Inv Scrapper.

Made all of my Empathy and Energy Blast powers into a light yellow for that look of having holy powers/light based powers on my alternate Valkyrior.

For a plant character I've turned Dark Melee into a dirt brown color so that when the character is punching enemies, it looks like there is a bunch of dirt flying around.

There are plenty more that I have done and I am so incredibly thankful that the developers have taken the time to give us Power Customization. I am hoping that APP/PPP and Power Pool stuff will get the Power Customization treatment sooner rather than later.

And the chatter on the Beta testers channel was almost all about the dance and the other new emotes and stances.

If there was a dev acting as a fly on the wall, and there usually is during beta, we may have given them the impression that we thought this was the best thing since sliced bread. And it was . . . for a free new emote.
I know it is hardly a promise, but in one of the Q&A's my question got answered. It was pretty much "Will there be new dance emotes in Going Rogue?" and the answer was (I think from Positron) "Yes."

I didn't expect them to back out of that and put the dance emotes into a paid extra.
