Quote:What server are you on? If you're on Pinnacle, I could run the new TFs with ya.There are three badges that none of my characters have ever gotten, and it is unlikely they ever will.
- Cathedral of Pain trial;
- Apex task force;
- Tin Mage task force.
I've tried them all several times, never succeeded, and am not really eager to experience them again. At this stage my chief concern is that i20 will be adding content that is gated through this particular content. Rather than more of this, maybe three more PvP zones? -
Quote:With DM/Inv, it does help that you can get a regular heal in your attack chain and a large heal + capped HP. My build has 25% positional Defense and 17.5% Psi Defense. Not anything great, but coupled along with those previously mentioned powers it does make Psi attacks less severe.The issue with psi is this:
Invul is troubled by all psi damage
/SR is troubled by the non positional psi attacks which are the ones from the mind and illusion control sets. It works normally against the psi blast sets.
Hence master illusionists really mess up /SRs, psi clocks rather less. -
Quote:This is my setup:I do this exact thing myself. First row is healing, second is endurance, third is defense, fourth is damage fifth is 1 accuracy, 1 break free and 1 rez. I am super OCD about organizing it to the point it has gotten be defeated on nearly all of my characters on a fairly regular basis.
Another OCD thing I do is to make sure I never have more than 1 of each type of uncommon piece of salvage at a time. After playing a game since beta you develop some pretty difficult habits to break...
Synapse
The one on the upper right gets use immediately regardless of what it is. If I cannot use it, then it gets deleted immediately. The better ones are put at the top and if there is no room in a column then a weaker Inspiration is used. I arrange my Inspirations like this in the midst of battle while still keeping my attack chain going. Sometimes I'll chase an enemy and arrange my Inspirations at the same time.

Without fail.
AND... I still giggle whenever I read some dialogue I thought was cute.

I don't do the small waist thing though. -
Nod twice if you're still reading this thread, Castle.

Quote:I believe they meant not using Hasten when you have it.Why would not using Hasten be like fighting with one arm behind your back? o.O
I don't have Hasten on my scrapper, and with it, it doesn't change anything for me at all.
Might not change anything for you, but it could for them! -
You could even go DM/Inv/Blaze and still not run out of Endurance. The only time I would ever run out of Endurance is if I were doing extended single target combat, probably five minutes or so of it. Thankfully for most of the game that doesn't have to be the case. Just jump into a pile of enemies and fire off Dark Consumption. DM/Inv is probably one of the most survivable combinations on a Scrapper, simply because of the layered damage mitigation. If you put enough Inf into it, you can get perma-capped HP (without an Endurance crash), almost hardcapped Smashing/Lethal Resist, softcapped S/L/F/C/E/N Defense, +Endurance recovery click power, a large self heal, and a smaller self heal that recharges fast. For all of this though, it does suffer from lack of +Damage or any large-area AoE damage. Taking Fireball/Exploding Shuriken/Ball Lightning/etc. does help out a little bit, giving you a frequent AoE attack.

Perfection is impossible to obtain, but you can get damn close to it.
What do you have in mind for that Fire/Fire of yours? Any ideas on APP/PPP, if you'd even want to use em'? -
Quote:The Uncommon does not get me to perma-Hasten, however it does get me perma-Dull Pain.Hmmm...does the Spiritual get you perma on Hasten? How does the RCH help your chain without Hasten?
I don't really know what my attack chain is for those 13 - 15 seconds of Hasten downtime that I have currently. I just press buttons because I cannot do my SL > SM > MG > SM chain.
For the purpose of perma-Hasten, I think I'm correct in assuming 30% ED ignoring Recharge added to Hasten basically works like 30% global Recharge from set bonuses. If that is true, I will be very close to perma-Hasten, if not at it. Right?
I also think that with the Very Rare boost that I would be near, if not at perma-Soul Drain. At the very least, that's an always-on 60% Damage and 12% ToHit boost! On a build like this. Holy crap. -

Quote:Oh I know, I was stating it was still gapless because of the hit Smite took on Recharge.With Hasten up (which only has an 11 second downtime), you already had the gapless chain. So, what exactly is the improvement, as looking at it, I would think you took a hit to damage with no benefit.
I really wanted to get the Recharge as saturated as possible for Siphon Life so it could take advantage of the 30% ED ignored Recharge in the Very Rare Spiritual boost. That way when RNG isn't being nice to me or when I'm being hit by stuff that I have little (or no resistance to) I could just spam Smite > Siphon Life until I got back up in HP. -
Lets just say that turning on Granite/Rooted on the last Apex TF battle would net you unresistable, autohit damage in the form of an initial blast + fast damage over time ticks.
Which can be stacked up to 8 times.
Nevermind the DoT killing anyone within a second or two under that condition, the blast would defeat you outright.
Thankfully it has a long visual and audio queue and is generally not stacked too much, unless the team is Melee AT heavy. For the rest of the 90% or so of the game, you're fine. I guess I didn't give you enough of these: -
Dang, I found yet another way to improve the build. Hahah.
I switched out the first five slots of Smite and Siphon Life between each other, took out the Proc from Hecatomb and used the Damage/Recharge from the set instead. Brings up Siphon Life almost 1 second faster with no Hasten and a half second faster with. Smite takes a hit to Recharge, but the attack chain of MG > SM > SL > SM gapless is still possible when Hasten is up.
Yes, yes, and hell yes! -

Noooo! Anything but the TV! I must saaaave it!

Not added so much as she already had one from character creation. -
I wonder if my DM/Inv could do it. The Nictus would provide her with enough Endurance for Dark Consumption. Hrm.
