Quote:Meant to post on this but haven't until just now. That's so awesome! Great job on the character!Oh, and another non-animal-headed costume making use of the animal fur option (and the savage emote):
Amazing Ape in his skivvies!
Someone had mentioned not being able to do proper briefs on the furry legs... But I thought this worked pretty well (with dark colors for the briefs, at least... they're still hairy, if you look closely... but, for the most part, I did not notice while play testing with this costume).
And just for good measure...
Amazing Ape (aka Professor Silverback) pondering things (once again using the savage emote)...

Why are you using Fire Blast? I thought Gloom was the only good APP/PPP blast, and we don't even get that one.

Quote:My good man, the aggro cap is an aggro cap, is an aggro cap, is an aggro cap.If you're not holding too much aggro, maybe you aren't trying hard enough?
But seriously, I think more Scrapper secondaries need taunt auras. Everytime I go from playing my WP or SD scrapper to my SR, I feel sad. -
Quote:Too well for my own good? No. I said that it's apparent from the design of the Scrapper AT that holding aggro is not their purpose. The basis of my argument is that Scrappers hold aggro TOO WELL*, so saying that they can't would be retarded.
*For their own good
I have 2 level 50 Shield Defense Scrapper, 1 42 Shield Defense Scrapper, 1 39 Shield Defense Scrapper, 3 level 50 Invulnerability Scrappers, and 5 level 50 Willpower Scrappers. None of them have ever felt like they were holding too much aggro for their own good in my time I've spent with them. -
Quote:The amount of times Shield Defense, Invulnerability, Willpower, or Stone Armor Tanks have died before my Invulnerability Scrapper (if she even does) is kind of scary.True story....
My Claws/Regen tanked an AV before while an Inv and Granite tank looked on from the ground
I think you all know which AV might that be -
Sam, that looks like one hell of a sleep-deprived panda. Good grief, have you been telling her to work 23 hour shifts?

Quote:But what about the 3rd school? There are 2 schools of thought on doing that with a Broadsword/Shield character.
1) Softcap using set bonuses, Weave, Maneuevers, Combat Jumping, etc. and drop Parry from your build altogether.
2) Use Parry to help you softcap to melee attacks, and focus your slotting on Ranged and AoE. The theory here being that if you aren't IN melee range of anything, you don't need melee defense, and if you ARE in melee range, it is pretty easy to just open your attack chain with Parry and get your defense at the same time. Ideally, you still want your melee defense to be at or slightly above 30%, so you only need to use Parry once to softcap.
3) Keep both the Softcap and Parry. Use Parry when there are enemies that have an Accuracy or ToHit bonus.

Hey all, thought I'd jump in and ask for some input as well. I think that my attack chains would be these...
Single: Hack>Disembowel>Hack>Head Splitter
Am I correct? Anyways, in regards to One with the Shield, I think I could use Conserve Power to mitigate the 60% Endurance crash. That should allow me to fully recover while still in combat (as in doing my attack chains), yeah?
AoE: Slice>Whirling Sword>Slice>Head Splitter

Oh wait, that was the Going Rogue release, wasn't it? Hrm, not bad.

Hrm? What brought that spike of earnings in Q3 '10?

Quote:What happens in two more years?I'm beginning to think that the suspicions of the server loads only appearing to be at higher capacity are just that; an appearance. I'm on right now and Virtue is in three red, yet the zones are virtually empty. Not everyone is plowing down enemies on their fifties right now... Again, I hope this game holds out for two more years.

But you could have perma-Soul Drain in addition to your Fury!

There's not always a Brute or a Tank on the team (or Scrappers for that matter) so having those Taunt Auras also are of great help to the squishies on the team, allowing them to use AoE's on a concentrated group of enemies without any retaliation.

Quote:Well it happened. Within the short window that the Beta server was up, the Trial was completed on the first day.The hardest part of this trial is going to be getting 48 people to meter their DPS in order to take down 2 AVs within 10 seconds of each other.

Quote:I have to leave soon, but if someone hasn't done it by tonight I'll get a screenshot in there for you.I noticed that if you use the minotaur head without the nose ring/horns, thin and elongate the face, it looks very close to a horse head. Anyone want to be the first to try it and post a pic here?

Quote:Now I want to know what you looked back on. Blah, you terrible tease. But of course! Since the system's pretty well set up at this point, I don't feel the need to comment unless something major comes up, but rest assured that everything is read, and we certainly note the great ideas.
Sidenote: we had a project TODAY, in fact, that specifically benefited from going back to some of the earlier ATA posts. There was a sub-topic that was suddenly relevant again, and I remembered reading some excellent suggestions. Now they'll be put to use. Coincidence, but a great illustration of how these threads have been helpful. -
It definitely looks cool, but I think it would be more spectacular from the ship. Possibly while we're doing a mission around it. Hrm... now I really want to know what kind TF/Story Arc that Mr. Sutter will be assigning us.

Quote:I would love to see that in action in our game. The "Grid" thing is a Vertical Launch System cell:

Each little square is a separate launcher. The whole cell can throw out an amazing amount of firepower. The gun is a little utility tool by comparison. -

6 pickup groups enter a Trial...
None of them make it back out.
