Lets be clear here, I'm only on my second can of Rolling Rock.
Oh, right. Scrappers. Lets be clear here, I'm not saying that SR and WP aren't top contenders, but to deny that Invulnerability isn't a top contender for survivability is ignorant. Especially a DM/Inv. -
Quote:For me, once I hit 50 there was another journey - the road to IOing out my character. This happens on any of my characters that hit 50. I enjoy the hell out of the journey from 1 through 50, but it doesn't last forever. Level 50 does. There are alot of sets that suck at 20 and would play great at 50. But I am not going to play them because to me the whole point of a character is the journey and not the destination. Thats why playing with SO's is so important because your stuck with using them until you can be fully IOed out anyways. If I hate going from levels 1-49 but love 50 its not worth it to me thats all I am saying.

Quote:There are sets that far outstrip others once they get into IOs. How do you not know this by now?No because its the IOs that are making the set playable. If they can't do it with SO's then its not worth it.
Nice clause on the "non-Smashing/Lethal" part. That is the most common damage in the entire game, y'know. -
Quote:I agree! Buff Invulnerability!
Psst, this guy has no clue what he's talking about, does he?

Just did a speedy LGTF with a pickup group in 35 minutes.

Thanks all for the input on my Chimera character.
Now where are those screenshots?!
I still haven't seen a catgirl character that I thought was cool. -
Use a respec or use your second build. It doesn't matter which.
First thing is you definitely don't want to four-slot Hasten. Three slots at the most, and two if you have a very high Recharge build. As for the rest of the slots placed so far, won't really know how much they'll help you out until you place some goodies in em'.
You'll be fine without Conserve Power or Physical Perfection. The main thing you'll need to do is just be aware of your Endurance bar and use a blue Inspiration as needed. Slot with Endurance Reduction in mind and that will get you far. At level 50 you can then get the Cardiac Alpha boost to give you more breathing room, as it were. The blasts in Darkness Mastery aren't that good, but you can place some great IO sets within the APP's various powers. -
-
I would not skip them. Every little bit helps. When you've got 26% to 28% (30% with Cardiac Core Paragon) on F/C/E/N Resists, Siphon Life constantly topping off your HP, and Dull Pain putting you at the HP cap, it all adds up and helps with more than just taking the edge off the incoming damage.
Plus, they add some useful Debuff Resistances that won't make you completely helpless against various effects. That's even more utility on top of all the things DM/Inv already has: ToHit debuff, Immobilize, +Self Heal, capped HP, +Endurance, +ToHit, and a powerful Fear with a huge amount of ToHit debuff if you decide to take Touch of Fear as well.
Unyielding already gives you a good amount of F/C/E/N Resist, so you might as well add to it. Hell, with my latest build they actually house the IOs I need to complete the set bonuses I need.
In my build I have all of the Invulnerability powers. Even Unstoppable, although that one is just used to slot a 3% Defense Gladiator IO. -
Quote:As with past content I've joined in or lead, I plan on doing an All Scrapper run for this BAF Trial. Now that would be a far cry from "perfect team" status.True, but that then steps into "perfect team" territory with requiring not "just team-mates" but specific team-mates with specific powers.

Quote:While I'd be right there to get it on day one, others would not; and there are a lot of folks that would have to wait years to even begin approaching it.Sounds like a good place for a Vet Reward, the ability to have another page of Heroes/Villains/Praetorians
The purchase option is better all around for everyone.
Now... if the Veteran Reward would be in addition to the character slots you could purchase... great! I'll take it! Hell, I already have several character slots I can redeem from previous Veteran Rewards, but can't really because I'm already at 36 character slots. -
Quote:Would it be okay with you if we leveled up as they did?Replace "future content" with "fighting level 54 enemies" and this thread becomes a lot more grounded.
For the longest time, this game was balanced against even level enemies, where enemy powers and mission design were used to provide quote-unquote "challenge." Everyone built for what the game was balanced around. Not everyone will rebuild for the poor man's version of challenge, otherwise known as "the computer is a cheating *******."
Historically, jacking up enemy stats and giving them palette swaps has been just about the cheapest, least inspiring method of adding fake difficulty, just trailing behind "supposed to lose" fights.
I will say one thing, though - it's becoming quite obvious that a completely different development team is working on the Incarnate system.
Not saying you're for, against, or that it's even your idea to have content that levels with you Sam - but one game that did that completely ruined it for me. There's a Scroll about it, but it's gone to Oblivion by now. I never felt weak and I never felt powerful in that game. I never had anything to compare myself in combat that was drastically different.
Personally, I like the way they have it set up better, which is they start at a higher point and we're the pups. It's incredibly dangerous for us to be going through these new challenges, and the stark contrast between them and us is very apparent. When we get stronger, the closer we get to the Omega Incarnate power the more we will know just how powerful we have become. -

So that chimera I posted earlier, I think I will go with that character. I am wondering what AT and powersets I'll choose though. Any ideas?

Being at the 81 month badge, I really don't want to get another account. Yeesh!
Hell, I wouldn't even use the advantage of playing multiple accounts at the same time. -
One of these days I should try an ITF for Succubus Kali.

Quote:I hope people aren't confusing me with another person again.I have stated what I would personally be content with in order to remain. You have stated by your replies that you are fine with their current point of difficulty incline.
It's happened before with stuff like the Imperious, Apex, and Tin Mage TF. People will understand, exploit, and conquer the new content as they have in the past. -
Good observations, Plasma. I'm on the yearly sub here.

I would too. The moment I was able to get 36 character slots, I did so without hesitation.

I wish they would add more slots per server to purchase. I would gladly fork over more cash to up my limit far beyond 36.
