Ahh, found a bug. Ninja Run will interrupt the casting animation of Pocket D and Mission Teleporter.
Also seems to interrupt the Rest animation. -

The event itself is a lot of fun. Seems like the reward is enough to keep people interested. I also like the mix-up of multiple GMs that have to be fought. The new zone is nice, but the two entry points (Magical Portal and Lord of Winter's Realm) are a bit confusing.
The addition of a respec purchaseable with Candy Canes is a nice touch and the new emote is cute. I did notice that the temp powers were showing up twice on the crafting list, one alone and once with the corresponding badge. Was that intentional?
I like the new event but hope the toggle drop issue is either corrected (if a bug) or given a more noticeable effect (if an intentional part of the fight). -
The Lord of Winter's realm would've been more spectacular if not for those Croatoa buildings on the edges of the map.

What a great little event that was. Breaking up the fight with the Lord of Winter to go after his guardians was a nice touch from keeping it feeling like a straight tank-n'-spank battle. I also enjoyed that you have to keep an eye out on your toggles, as the battle with the Lord of Winter can detoggle (not suppress) any number of your toggles. Making the boss fights more active is a step in the right direction. One that I've been seeing happen more often. Cheers!

None of the above has to do with whether it's going to run Ultra Mode smoothly in combat; the above is about whether you can use it at all, even to take a shinier screenshot of your character at single-digit FPS. Based on the substantial performance hits of some of the similar Champions Online effects (realistic shadows in particular seems to hit lower end cards hard), my personal experience was that a ~300 GFLOP class card (GeForce 9600 GT) required me to turn off those effects to get playable combat performance; and Ultra Mode looks like it will be even harder on your system. I'd suggest planning for a ~700 GFLOP class card or better if possible, and a ~1000 GFLOP class card may be a good idea if you've got the budget for it. -
Sooo... will my GeForce GTX 286, 3gb RAM, and 2ghz CPU be fine running max settings in Ultra Mode at 1920x1200? If not, I refuse to go to a lower resolution! I'd rather step down the graphics settings than that.

For starters, they could tell me if they're going to allow us to buy more character slots on filled up servers before Going Rogue hits. That and if the engine will support SLI post-expansion.

Whether there's a plan to change that, I don't know, but I'd doubt it. If they were going to optimize CoH for dual cards, they'd probably would have mentioned that along with Ultra Mode. -
