Q: Will there be a preorder for City of Heroes Going Rogue?

A: Yes. It will be announced later this year.
    Ohhh. I forgot about that!

Hurry up so I can put the money down for my copy.
  2. (....but, but...some of us MAKE crime....)
  3. Soft-capped for Melee I have around 30 to 33% of Smashing/Lethal Defense. It's worked well for my Fire/Fire Scrapper.

  5. Yeesh, this is terrible. So if you get an account hacked and then recovered too many times the account gets banned? That is TERRIBLE.

    Soo... today is Monday.

Hoping for something in twelve hours.

    Okay, So...

I'm really hoping that the release is at the beginning of the second quarter, rather than the tail end of it.
  9. bAss_ackwards

    Okay, So...

Second quarter actually, with closed beta to begin sometime "early" this year.

    Okay, So...

I'm awful for wanting the developers to get back to work sooner. But I can't help it! My excitement for Going Rogue can't be contained!
  11. Holy crap! The future is now!

2010! Flying cars! Sky homes! Cancer is cured! FREE SUSHI FOR EVERY ONE AT ANY TIME! Hooray I love 2010 already!
  12. Maybe. I enjoy PvP in other MMOs so I don't see why I wouldn't give it another go if they made the PvP "work better."

    Defense Issue

It looks fine to me. You're just having a bit of bad luck and unfortunately, fighting at a team size of 8 just happens to bring the bad luck more often (to-hit rolls that hit the 95 to 100 numbers.)

There's really nothing I can see other than just plain bad luck. Sorry I can't be much of help on it.
  14. I like to use could've, would've, should've.
  15. Werner, did you have Death Shroud on that character?
  16. I would definitely agree with the folks that have stated Katana/Willpower.
  17. Castle: "All I got was this piece of junk remote from Positron."
  • We don't really celebrate it in our family, but my work place did give me money and some nice comfy warm clothes.
  • You can't use a Katana with Shield Defense, but you can use a Broadsword with a shield!

Here's a build I threw together. I wouldn't consider it a billion dollar build (in the hundred millions for sure however), but something easier to work towards than alot of other builds.

With Powersink, END shouldn't be a problem, even with the lack of real ENDRED in the AOE attacks.

Single Target Attack Chain of: Charged Brawl -> Jacob's Ladder -> Charged Brawl -> Chained Induction -> Charged Brawl -> Jacob's Ladder -> Charged Brawl -> Fire Blast -> Repeat

Though that's when up against the AVs and don't need to be spamming the AOE attacks.

43.5% Melee Defense (and a measily 11% Ranged & AOE)...should be good enough defense, as you'll spend your time in melee for the most part.

Someone might beable to throw something even better together. But I was going with something rather cheap (obtainable with merits/tickets). Getting on a farm team, snatching then selling a few purples should pretty much buy this build, as long as you run some TFs for merits...I would think.
Wait what? Hold on a minute, have you seen how much a Gladiator Resist proc goes for on the market? Did you forget to take that IO out of there and then state that the build was going to be in the "hundreds of millions" for sure?
  • Ohhh, very nicely done. Checking em' out now.

  • Unfortunately my Fire/Fire/Fire Scrapper has to stick with a travel power for the extra +Def and KB protection.
  • I absolutely love being all fire, all the time. Fire/Fire/Fire!

This build works great for me:

The scrapper style superstrengthers in comics, don't rip chunks of concrete out of the ground...they don't clap their hands together to cause a massive shockwave...they don't cause mini earthquakes.

They hit hard and lift heavy objects, even toss said objects around.

That's the difference I see between a scrapper with super strength and a tanker/brute. Comicbook wise, with CoH ATs.

Both would also have knockback...but put that in Super Strength, and people would just complain. :P
Well then, I am glad that the game does not adhere to your strict comic book code.

"The Scrapper is a fierce melee combatant. In hand to hand, no other hero can compare."

There is no talk of finesse there. The only thing the description says later on is that Scrappers are "countered by a total lack of long distance attacks," which was broken on day one of retail by Claws and Spines. No matter what melee method, a Scrapper will use it and they will be the strongest of it on Hero side. That's just how they are in this universe.

I also support a partial gun attacks/partial martial arts melee Dual Pistol set for Scrappers. It wouldn't be any different from Claws and Spines anyways.
