  1. ah ha.... interesting... well that would explain what the issue was.

Thanks alot for the insight and the heads up.
  2. Ok so The issue i'm having i don't understand.
I originally just copied my CoH program folder to my external HD (\J. When i ran the updater is told me it it was going to install it to \C: i told it "No" and selected \J: it then told me i didnt have sufficiant privilages or i was out of room. neither were true i'm on the admin account and have well over 400gigs left of space on the HD. I just said F it and deleted everything CoH related off my HD and Dled the installer again and just did a fresh install to the \J: drive... it worked fine since i guess there was no preexisting CoH data.

so all was well, untill i tried to run it again from the external HD a few days later. Which had now become \I: because of less things plugged into my network. So i Ran the updater from the HD and AGAIN it said it was going to install the game to \C: again i told it "No" and told it to select \I: hoping it would see that all the files were there already and AGAIN it told me i was out of room or didnt have the right to make changes... so now i had to delete all the CoH files off my HD again, and let it do a fresh install... again...

So whats the deal? why wont the updater work correctly? why cant it let me choose a drive where the game is already installed? why wont it reconize that the Files are ALREADY there?

and how can i make the game work consistantly off my external HD? I mean it runs fine, after installing it again, but having to install it everytime is really getting old.
