  1. just connected... and downloading something
  2. I cannot take credit for it. I stole it 0_0

And I did get the -project CohTest tag to work. I was using the updater icon, not the actual executable.
  3. I tried the -project CohTest tag and all it did was open up the normal City of Heroes, not my Test City of Heroes.

The patcher doesn't seem to want to go through, but I used it about 3 hours ago with no problem/
  4. As in, they announced the new GR website. but the first time around, they accidentally didnt add a message.
  5. Some one goofed. They sent a second message a minute later.
  6. Also any heal that grants +res are unresistable. yay Recon.
  7. You can easily softcap an /SR with less than 400 mil >.>

    private

Yeah... not sure why you said it was private... it is now very public.... >.>
  9. <qr>

There's a reason that Fire Minded disabled his rep. (And it wasnt because the green bar was getting to long)

I will admit in most MMO's Tanking refers to the meatshield that takes the alpha. But in COH tanking is reserved for some one to take the alpha AND keeps the aggro. Any one can 'tank' in the sense of taking the agro by just eating 10 oranges and 10 purples in this game. The Petless Master Mind with only Poison powers can 'Tank' in this regard.
  10. Bosses have double the HP and do not have double the XP to Lts.
Therefore in an XP/min scenario, bosses suck. They also do more damage and resist more damage and debuffs. This makes it so that they take longer to kill. Yes one boss gives more XP than one Lt, but you can kill 3 Lts, and a bunch of minnions in the time it takes to kill a boss.

I find +2/ is a good balance between ease and speed. Its difficult enough not to fall asleep at the keyboard, but not hard enough to needing to get Life insurance.
  11. If all I wanted was soft capped, I would roll an SR...

The only reason I would do a DM/SD is if I could get the Smite->Siphon Life->Smite->Midnight Grasp attack chain.... Thats expensive...
  12. My biggest beef with DM/SD is how expensive it costs 0_0

    My new project!

Kinda was waiting for Umbral to reply... but.

Isn't Lightning Rod a splash damage power? The damage you see as base is the damage in the middle of your toon when you use the power. The damage scales down as it eminates from your toon. At least i think that is how it is designed.

As for most damage and survivability. I would go with a DM/SD brute or scrap.... >.>

    SB Combo's

[Edit] Dang the 's' next to the 'd'

    DB combos, not SB combos

What Combo's would yall suggest me to use.

I am partial to the Vengfull Strike and Power Up combos, but I would really like to get some PBAoE in the mix as well.

I do not wish to take One Thousand Whiffs if I can.

    Confused!help!

Heres a mids build with just AM and Hasten 3 slotted with SOs.

With both AM and Hasten on, Hasten recharges in 152.6 and AM recharging in 143.1 seconds. Niether of them are perma with 3 recharge SOs.

I have shown you proof to the contrary Fire Minded. Prove my proof wrong.

    Base Storage

Is there any way to increase base storage above 18 bins?

Perhaps I can bribe a dev or something?
  17. I did like using the old MoG in AP and have the newb Healers try to heal me

Also, the length of MoG was long enough that if I used recon and DP before MoG, They were both up by the time MoG was down.
  18. Meh, I'm not too big on the soft cap of just one damage type. I fight too many different kinds of mobs. unless Umbral thinks different. What do you think Umbral?
  19. As for LSK, please keep in mind that some people do troll posts.

People posting builds that look horrible just waiting for some one to take the bait.

If you are indeed new as your join date suggests, check out this link. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=122411

It is a little out dated, but is still chock-full of information.

If you are looking for particular scrapper help, I would suggest looking up Werner's posts, along with Nihilii and other people that post a lot on the Scrapper forums. (a lot of your names escape me atm, don't be offended if your name isn't on here).

If you want the best build evah! listen to Umbral (he is great with numbers). If you are just wanting something that won't die, check the scrapper build guides.

Sounds to me like you were using Instant Healing wrong. If you try to use it reactively like Reconstruction or Dull Pain when you're low on HP, well, if you're taking enough damage to get low on HP in the first place, you're going to die.

It is best used before a fight that you know you're going to take a lot of damage in. With as much as it boosts your regen, chances are you won't even need Recon or DP. And as far as the duration, how long are you going to actually NEED 1600% regeneration for? 90 seconds is plenty for the vast majority of situations I've ever encountered.

The only power I consider skippable in Regen is Revive. Resilience is an awesome place for a Steadfast Res/Def, and it's a great power to take at 49 because it doesn't need any slots at all.

=) that's why its my book.

I realize I'm not the best scrapper in the world.

It's just a personal reason for the dislike of IH. Long recharge for a relativelyshort duration... >.> As for Resilience for putting the Res/Def IO.... well unless you are building for stacked defense bonuses, an extra 3% doesn't help a whole lot. Unless you can show me a build that can get up to 30% def to melee, ranged and AoE and have decent recharge.... (I would be happy to see it, cause I've been trying to do it in mids). I am not stuck in my ways and would love to be wrong =).
  21. I would like to chime in on this topic.

I have a Spines/Regen scrapper (which spines and claws are fairly similar imo).
Can I ask you what your thought process was for this build? You should always have a goal in mind, a bonus or two you want to maximize.

When I look at your build I scratch my head and wonder what in the world you were trying to do. First off, I have never seen a decent scrapper with darkness mastery. Not saying that it can't be done, just I have never seen one. Why in the world do you have the clouded senses slotted in there? Are you trying to obtain the status resistance bonus of 2.5? That's what Integration is for.

Let me break down the powers on the regen side for you.

    >Fast Healing<
I like you slotting for it. That's the same that I use. I'm sure you could do it differently, but it works for me.

    >Reconstruction<
Why do you only have 1 heal IO in it? You really do want to 5-6 slot it. 3 recharge SOs and 3 Heal SOs will heal around 650 hp and recharge in 30 seconds. I personally like to slot 5 doctored wounds in it as IO sets go. That will save you a slot to put some where else.

    >Quick Recovery<
Since you are not taking stamina, you want to slot this heavier. I like to do 3 perf shifters. The End Mod, End Mod/Acc and the proc. Some people like to add the end mod/ rech as well.

    >Dull Pain<
This will really help your survivability. It effectively increases your resistance by some number (ask Umbral, I'm sure he could do the math for yah) to everything. For slotting, 3 rech and 3 heals; or 5 doctored wounds.

    >Integration<
This provides you with about double the regen, status resist and status protection. Slot this puppy for an end red or two and 3 heals. Alternatively I used 5 Doctored wounds in this one as well.

    >Resilience<
I used to swear by this. That was before actual numbers were released. I now see how low the resists are =( I like it for for the 100% stun resistance (great for when you have a wakie but no break free). But I would say this and Instant healing are the two most easily skippable powers in the set.

    >Instant Healing<
Second most skippable power in my book. It takes forever and a day to recharge, and it only lasts for a minute and a half. If you have a spare power slot, take it and slot it for a recharge. That's my outlook on the power.

    >Side note:
I would really like to see this power changed.
In the beginning of time, when Pine Weasle was still a young little scrapper, I saw the little grayed out power called Instant Healing, I thought to my self, "Cool a third click heal". That was sadly not the case once I got it. Disappointed, I moved it off in some corner of my tray and only used it when recon or DP weren't up yet.

I think Instant Healing should do what it's name implies.... Heal Instantly... >.> not start regenerating instantly. So, I see two choices on the shelf for this power. Change it so that it resembles Energize or make it a toggle again, and reduce the Regen bonus. ... >.> Moving on.

    >Revive<
Meh, take it if you have a spare power slot.

    >Moment of Glory<
This is a pretty nifty power. Makes you unkillable for 15 seconds. This has a rather long recharge, but I think it's manageable. I like your slotting for the most part already.

Now, the next build you make try to keep some of the pointers in mind. Also, if you plan on IOing out your scrapper, be sure to keep one or two bonuses in mind and work to them. I would suggest for a Regen scrapper to first focus on +Recharge bonuses (to get those clicks to recharge faster) and then +HP bonuses (so you regen more HP per second, and can take a few more hits)

I do sort of wonder what your current build looks like.

Here is an SO build I quickly put together. I don't think it is optimized, nor will it be a beast. But in regular team play, you shouldn't face plant all the time.

  23. Hey Umbral.... Do you suggest actually using Shockwave in just normal mob attacking? or is it in the build for a set mule only.
