I stand corrected Umbral. TY =)
I honestly couldn't think of a better thing to analogize though =( I do have to say that on my SS tanker, the rage crash is very annoying. I wouldn't like it on my scrapper either I would imagine. -
A message to the OP:
If you do not claim that the build is not yours and that a friend gave it to you, then it is logical to assume that you built it and are wanting feed back. People do not usually come into the forums posting someone's build and ask for feedback. They post their own builds.
This statement: "Hey, I have a build I'm in the process of completing to 50, and now's it's time to start modifying him and getting him to be a true beast." implies that you have made a build and and are wanting feedback on it.
Also, I do not know how it is on your side of the monitor, but I know that when I ask for help and advice, I don't turn around on the people that are helping me and call them names and get ticked off. If you do not want help, don't ask for it. Go figure out the stuff for yourself. -
Quote:Comparing other scrapper Primaries to SS with double stacked Rage is similar to comparing all Primaries with Perma Saturated Soul Drain. It is kind of ridiculous. Rage has it's crash were your KO blow will do something like 8 dmg. MOST people will have it single stacked with a small overlap. Will it be good? Yes. Will it be unbalanced? I do not think so.oÔ
At level 50
Disregarding secondaries
Ignoring crits (with the same crit rate on everything it wouldn't add anything)
Assuming +100% damage from enhancements/set bonuses
Averaging BU as +30% damage for sets with BU
Scrapper Footstomp with perma double-stacked Rage : 355 damage in a 15 feet radius, with a 80% chance to knockdown.
Scrapper FSC with averaged Build Up : 255 damage in a 10 feet radius.
Scrapper Spin with 2x FU : 272 damage in a 8 feet radius.
Scrapper Spine Burst with averaged BU : 163 damage in a 15 feet radius, slight slow.
Scrapper KO blow with 2x Rage : 890 damage at a 13 feet range, with a guaranteed 12s mag3 hold and knockup.
Scrapper Midnight Grasp with saturated SD : 604 damage with a 18s immobilize.
Scrapper Greater Fire Sword with averaged BU : 405 damage.
Scrapper Headsplitter with averaged BU : 374 damage, 60% chance to knockdown, small defense debuff.
Average tohit
Doublestacked Rage : +64%
DM with saturated SD : +30% (+48% if slotted for tohit, but SD needs to hit)
DB/Claws with 2x FU : +20% (+32% if slotted for tohit, but FU and BF need to hit and are attacks, hence are better with damage)
Other primaries : +32% while BU is up, a third of the time.
Yes, that's looking at specific numbers in a vacuum, but if KO blow dealing more than twice as much damage as other typical scrapper T9s or Footstomp dealing more than twice as much damage (considering the radius), and for both powers also offering superior mitigation than the scrapper counterpart, strikes you as "in line with other scrapper primaries" then by the same token, FF or emp defender damage is "in line with scrapper primaries".
SS is already quite good (I would argue too good) on brutes, and this is an AT with lower damage buff mods that also get proportionally less from damage buffs as their base damage is balanced around Fury giving them a much higher average damage % than other ATs.
Sure, people will point out Rage has a crash, that the rest of the set isn't stellar (although it isn't anywhere near as bad as people want to make you believe) and so on. Me, I'll stick with the same conclusion in any SS scrapper discussion : port the set with the same values, even with no crits, and I'll instantly roll a SS/SD scrapper and, while obliterating everything standing in my way, proceed to laugh at everyone who thought it was balanced. My most played character right now is a FM/SD, I certainly don't mind being overpowered and I certainly wouldn't mind the upgrade SS/SD would be. -
One question I feel the need to ask. What are you working towards as far as bonuses go?
-
That makes more sense than what Arcana said
Ty for the clear up Werner. =) -
Hail of Bullets is an exception
Also if I remember correctly from a couple days ago. There is actually a lag between activation time that is displayed and the actual time it takes... Or something like that. (its very convoluted)
Activation:

Recharge:

To be honest. I suck at calculating DPS and attack chains... However, Did you factor in the lag of real activation versus the printed activation time?
*Wishes Werner or Umbral watched the stalker forum* -
Quote:Does it now? The *only* reason I've gotten that much inf on either of my fifties is mostly because of lucky drops/merit usage *after* I hit 50. I don't expect any of my other toons to hit that amount when they hit fifty unless I end up just as lucky with them.
My stalker is currently sitting at level 34 and he has over 200 mil of inf >.> And I have Frakenslotted him as he leveled. -
And yes I am trying to get as much recharge as I can. In order to do the Smite -> SL -> Smite -> MG chain
-
The confuse purple set does give a 5% defense to range on the 6th bonus. Can put that in Blinding Powder... I just couldn't fit that into my build.
-
Shield Defense is End Heavy? ... REALLY?
You have 3 toggles at .21 end/sec base and one with .16 end/sec base... Contrast that to Invuln's 3 toggles. 2 at .26 end/sec and one that is .21 end/sec. Or Dark Armor's 3 that are .21, two that are .52, one that is .26, one that is .08. SR has 3 toggles at .26 end/sec base too. SD is looking pretty low on the end usage. >.> -
Now its my turn
Tell me what you think of this build. I realize that its 3% shy of AoE soft cap, but I have a feeling it will still be fine.

Also, to comment on your build, Katt.
I like it. I really do. I think you will too. It should be a beast. Just one small tweak you might want to think of doing is use Blessing of the Zephyr in SS and SJ can get 8 more points of KB prot. Nemesis's Staff does something like mag 10 KB I believe. That will allow you to get 5% more recharge bonus from Crushing Impact.
Here are the tweaks. Take em or leave em.

Smite -> SL -> Smite -> MG is the best Single target dmg that DM can do... and it's enough to solo AVs. If you have enough recharge to get SP -> MG -> SP -> SL then you have the recharge for Smite -> Sl -> Smite -> MG.
As for a leveling build I picked up Smite, Shadow Maul, And Veterans powers. Plus Siphon Life and AS. I waited until after stam to get Danger sense. I didn't use my toggles before stam because of the end problems. Ninja run was fast enough for me, and I think I will just keep it and not get a travel power. -
One other thing to mention is, you are not softcapped.
Mid's totals show the unsuppressed Hide value. Hide only gives about 3%. So you are running at around 40% melee, ranged and 33% AoE
Edit: I wish the Titan network would do something to fix that. Not completely sure if its broken by programming standards (cause I don't know how it works inside the program) but from a user's perspective, it isn't helpful to see the unsuppressed hide value (same for stealth, invis, grant invis) cause when you need the defense.... the number is half it's displayed value. -
Grats on the 60 month badge.
I added sharks just in case you wanted to PvP at all. (I know I never plan to PvP on most of my toon, but I do do a little kickball every once and a while.)
Use Build Up.... >.> Also, do you not use placate?
You do have a self heal, but it's not heavily slotted. The difference in your slotting and mine is:
For slotting one more slot. You gain 3% more heal. About 7 more seconds of recharge and about 2 less endurance to use it. Also you get 5% recharge bonus with Doctored Wounds. You do however lose out on that 1.5% recov.
You are right about the Siphon Life. It does about 30 more dmg. I just feel safer knowing it heals me 15% instead of 10%.
Your extra slot with Gift of the Ancient gives you an extra .3% defense and 2.2% Hold resistance. Is it worth it? I doubt it.
Your slotting for tough offers .07% more end reduction, Hold resistance, stun resistance, sleep resistance, 18.1 HP. Mine costs .07% more end, grants 5% runspeed and 1.56% AoE defense. Yes, your slotting gives more end reduction, and more bonuses. But it gives you 3 out of 4 crappy bonuses. Mine gives 2 out of 2 good bonuses. (And didn't you want your toon to be fast anyhow? Why not pick up the 5% runspeed bonus).
Hope this helps. -
Ok few things I saw.
Why the five slot of Gift of Ancient? The bonus (mez res of 2.2 is negligable)
Are you actually a vet high enough to be able to take SJ or SS without taking the pre-req. Your forum join date makes me think not, but it's possible. (60 Month vet award) http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/City_Traveler
Kuji-In Sha looks VERY sparsely slotted.
Tough looks over slotted. Placate is put very late into the build. I personally don't see the need to have Smite and Shadow Punch. But you can take it I guess do you really use Caltrops? (I know I don't... Could be used for stalker hunting in Warburg I guess). Build Up is taken kinda late. I would slot a heal or two in Siphon Life.
Those are a few things I noticed. Here is a build I am thinking about doing for my stalker when he hits 50.

Bosses are not currently worth the Inf/XP they give for the time they take to kill.
They have something like double the HP, more resistance and more powers to kill you with than Lts. They do not however grant double the Inf/XP of Lts. This is what I have noticed in leveling and farming. The bosses just aren't worth the trouble. -
Yeah... I remember last winter event. The week before the event started, I sold them for 500k a piece....

Sort of a Necro-post.
I was researching Rad/Sonic and this is one thread that popped up in the search.
I currently have in my build (only theoretical, don't have the defender yet) that RI is -41.9% to hit. So I figured 10-15% def would be enough. Is that not correct, how can I calculate how much the purple triangles of doom will detract from RI, as well as GM's debuff Resistance? -
I think a Rad/Sonic might be fun. I'll be there.
-
Do you have your heart set on Fire Mastery? I have found Psi Mastery so much more fun and it comes with Mez protection. I found fighting Council and BM sucked sometimes because I would get mezzed.

Still no enhancement screen fix =(
Still having a hard time slotting my toons =( And it just annoys the fire out of me. The screen makes me grit my teeth every time I check my enhancements.
