  2. Can some one clue me into why Sharks are more used in PvP than Soul Storm?

    Sharks:
    Rech: 32
    Cast: 1.87
    Damage: 168.6

    Soul Storm:
    Rech: 32
    Cast: 2.17
    Damage: 180.5

    For a regen. I would have to say having Shadow meld has really helped me live longer in PvP.
  3. Also note that You will always shoot while hidden, guaranteeing a crit on every snipe.

    Only reason I grab the snipe is for the nice and cheap +7.5 recharge.

    I did not check every power, but the largest I saw was mag KB was Mag 14. Power Push.

    Note: Power Boost does not effect KB any more.
  5. Few things.

    Fly will make you cry in PvP.

    Most likely want Kuji-In Retsu to PvP.

    Mag 10 KB prot is what most Mez Prot toggles give, so I would say you only need 3 +4 Mag KB prot IOs.

    I have heard that Thunder Strike has the potential to double Crit, making it a friggin awesome PvP attack.

    You have no ranged attack, which will make it harder to kill kiting Blasters and Defenders.

    Glad Armor's Proc is currently running at about 3-4 billion inf a piece. Good luck even finding one.
  6. Ah sorry, I have never really looked at it. I had the School of Shark's animation in mind when I was typing Spirit Shark.
  7. They each provide something different. Let's go down the list.
    I don't usually use the pets, but you can take a look at them.

    _Leviathan Mastery_ (Mako is a stalker anyhow)

    Spirit Sharks:
    A Cone KB.
    Not something I would prolly use.

    Water Spot:
    Think of it as Tornado. 271.4 Smashing dmg over 30 seconds.
    Some fun KB, -Def and you can slot the Achilles Heel -20 res proc. It fires pretty often, so is good for duels or AV/EB fights.

    Hibernate:
    Its Hibernate. Not great, not bad. Meh, my opinion. I would rather phase in PvP.

    Spirit Shark Jaws:
    Ranged Hold. Crits out of Hide. Usefull in PvP.


    _Mace Mastery_ (The redraw on these powers are detrimental IMO)

    Mace Blast:
    Ranged Energy Blast that does KB

    Mace Beam:
    Sniper Ranged Energy Blast that does KB. Listed as Superior Damage

    Disruptor Blast:
    Targeted AoE. Moderate dmg

    Web Cocoon:
    Ranged Hold. No damage but it does -fly and -jump.

    _Mu Mastery_ (If you want some more AoE, jump on this one)

    Mu Bolts:
    Ranged Damage

    Zapp:
    Sniper Ranged Damage. Listed as Extreme.

    Ball Lightning:
    Targeted AoE. Damage over time.

    Electric Shackles:
    Ranged Hold.

    _Soul Mastery_

    Dark Blast:
    Ranged Damage

    Moonbeam:
    Sniper Ranged Damage. Listed as Superior dmg

    Shadow Meld:
    +Def clickie. Base of 20.3%, 90 seconds recharge, 15 second duration. Many people call it a Mini MoG. This is a good power to keep if you get hit by defense debuffs, since Nin only gets around 30% DDR.

    Soul Storm:
    Ranged hold. Listed to do more base damage than Shark Jaws. I still am confused why more people choose Sharks over this. Maybe some one will enlighten me.

    You would have redraw if you did a Claws/Regen. Every time you heal, you would need to redraw your claws.
  10. Build for +Ranged Defense if you want to PvP. Leviathan, maybe Soul patron. You want stealth and phase shift. Also SS and SJ is great to chase people. The PvP game is really almost completely Chase and Run away. Most of the time you won't have enough time to AS people and DR sucks so bad for every one. Wish they hadn't dragged down every one into the mud in order to 'balance'. One of the only things that is not affected by DR is +acc bonuses. So all defense based sets are screwed. It takes about 100% defense in PvE to be soft capped in PvP. Kuji-In Retsu is pretty much needed to get that much defense. Grab the Force of Nature and Demonic Aura Accolades to help in that regard. Elusivisity has been nerfed in PvP so don't get your hopes up that that will help. Soooo yeah.

    +Acc
    any + Dam you can get without negating the above 3.


    I have about 125% ranged def in PvE on my SR scrapper and in PvP I am reduced to about 50%.

    The reason ranged def is preferable to Melee or AoE is because most of the things in PvP are running and shooting at you. Also, if you do AS and follow up, You will most likely need to run to escape any vengeance. You will regain hidden status if you don't get hit.
  11. The defense Cap is around 200%. Varying between different AT's.

    You only need to get your defense to 45% to positional or typed. Since Ninja Reflexes and Danger Sense are positional (Melee, Ranged, AoE) then it is best to work on positional and not typed defense (Smashing, Lethal, Fire, Cold, Energy, Negative, Psi (far as I know there is no toxic defense)). The reson 45% is the magical number is because even level mobs have a base of 50% to hit. Because mobs always have a 5% chance to hit, you only need to get your defense to 45%.

    Nin/Nin Build

    Here is a fairly cheap build with Soul Mastery in it. As long as you get the Numina, Miracle and LotG procs with merits. If you do story arc's and TFs on your way to 50, you should have enough merits accrued to get 2 LotG and the Numina and Miracle Procs. I would estimate 300-400 mil at buy-it-nao prices, 200 mil if you sit and wait. Your most expensive are going to be Touch of Death, Mako, and Obliteration ones. All the rest, just set the bid a little lower than the asking price, and wait.

    You are soft capped when stealth and hide are suppressed. Can play around in PvP and not completely suck. You can switch the purple sets for something cheaper. I'm horrible at DPS, DPA, and DPE calculations, so I can't be sure if it is end sustainable. (Could use Hibernation for its end recovery).

    About the stalker forums being dead, yes, but I am trying to help with it by responding to any questions.

    Then post your build. I personally like Soul Mastery or Leviathan. Soul Mastery has Shadow Meld. Also, on paper, Soul Storm does more dmg than Sharks. Haven't tested why people go for Sharks instead of Soul Storm.... >.> Gona have to use the test server when it comes back to public use.
  15. Well I found a way of getting more AoE defense up.

    Im sitting at 44.81% Melee, 43.61% Ranged, 44.11% AoE. Counting on the -To hit of AS and Dark Melee a little, so I feel that the numbers are fine. (Also if I randomly get a Gladiator's Armor +3% def, then I will be home free).

    No SS does not give stealth in PvP.
  17. Can have Stealth + Stealth Proc + Hide gives you 1189 ft of stealth. Still not capped at level 50. That means that if some one does have capped perception, then your screwed still.
  18. For PvP, it is smart to take stealth. Pretty much, if some one has a +percep power, they will be able to see through stealth easily. For PvE, just hide is fine. The only things that can see through hide ignore stealth completely so taking stealth doesn't help at all. Another nice thing about taking stealth is for phase shift, which can help you get out of tight situations (if your defense gets neutered by debuffs).

    As for your build BLYKYMK. It's not horrible, but it's also not omptimal. As Katt said, you are not completely soft capped. I was wondering, were you going for +acc bonuses? Because several (I'm looking at Thunderstrike, Red Fortune and Crushing Impact) sets you stopped before getting to their best bonuses. Shadow Meld and Kuji-In Retsu are more or less redundant. If you are going to keep Soul Mastery, I would drop Kuji-In Retsu. Shadow Meld would be a good power to pop if you start getting hit by defense debuffs (I'm Looking at you Roman). Stealth likes to drain your endurance. I would definitely slot it for end reds. Soul Storm actually does more damage than Dark Blast, I would slot for dmg :O. If you feel the need for a 20 second hold, Placate does a lot better at that, cause one application can 'hold' a boss. Are you stuck on Soul Mastery? Or was it just something you wanted to try out? I would definately say go Leviathan Mastery because of the Water Spot -Res happiness you can drop on AVs, and the Sharks >Om Nom< you can drop in PvP.

    I feel I need to do some more fiddling with it, but I like the look of it.
  20. 42% with or without hide on, and the -To Hit is not very helpful when soloing AVs. A level 50 AV has 87.something% resistance to -To Hit.

    I tried adding Touch of Fear into the build, cause I think it's kind of fun, but I couldn't find a good place to put it. If you feel a power is not as useful, then by all means add it in. For the possible AV soloing I will be doing, I wasn't going to waste time using touch of fear. So it was rather worthless in my eyes.
  21. Few reasons why I choose leaping. 1. Can slot a Karma for KB prot. 2. Can pop a LotG +rech in there. 3. Super Jump is good for clearing buildings in Grandville. 4. I personally don't like Super Speed.
