    Fire/TA/Mako new PvP Fotm.

    I dunno...I doubt that.

I mean why? So that you can get practically 3-shotted by a Blaster when Hibernate is down? It'll be a decent disruption toon for the "annoyance" factor, but I'm not seeing it becoming anything beyond that. Plus, hero's have much easier ways of dealing with you, by simply killing you fast at range.

But who knows...I could be wrong...I doubt it tho..

    [/ QUOTE ]

Only based on the premise that they fix slows and suppression. /TA is pretty nice debuff set, but with 2 of them being Location Based AoE's having no slows (Looking at you glue arrow) to keep them in it will keep /TA from being anything worth noting.

It's perks imo include the ridiculously long DoT from I think Acid Arrow, an autohit -jump power and slow, best ST immob in the game imo, and a place to slot the placate proc that's autohit from what I understand, just on a longish recharge.

Yes blasters can damn near three shot you from range if you're unaccoladed and not +HP built, but if it's a fotm toon I'm betting it's specced out. With the change to mez's in the game /TA probably will never be what it could have been, but Blasters are not the end all be all of PvP, while they may reign supreme over the other ranged AT's in damage, it doesn't mean anything else isn't viable or useful.

Also I'm not referring to 1v1's. In a Zone environment, I'll pick a /TA over a blaster everyday.

1v1's are a very different kind of pvp entirely.

    Since when...

Hate to be that guy, but [censored] it. 0.2% > Nothing. That is all.
  3. All they have to do is recode it to work the way hiber works on people. An unaffecting target, that is not in a phase state.

It's interesting idea to think that you could phase them then some teammates could phase after them to kill the few that you phased out. But it's just a novelty really with no actual practical application.
  4. He didn't dodge...you missed. A miss means you missed your tohit roll.

Castle stated once way back when that if you see miss it's just that...a miss.
  5. _Meldash_

    Since when...

If your reading your base defense stat it will say zero percent. PFF used to grant ridiculous amounts of base defense. That still works in PvE but in PvP it grants Zero base defense instead they gave it "Typed defense" to everything. So if you wanna monitor your actual PvP defense numbers with PFF or eye of the magus on you have to watch your "Smashing" "Lethal" ect. stats instead of the base one like before.

This issue has nothing to do with DR.
  6. If you have a 95% chance to hit and miss...the next attack will land due to streak breaker.
  7. Somebody got a GS double off of me...so yea.

    So I16

Only if they fix slows....if they haven't then all this is moot.

    Rad Blast ftw...

I'd be down for that seeing as how NB isn't the cornerstone of the set it'd be ok. It's a great part of the set, but changing the power in that way wouldn't do anything to reduce the effectiveness of rad.

    pvp recipes?

Whenever you qualify for rep...you qualify for a drop. The player must be 47+ though or so I hear.

    Fire/Dark

Fire/Dark is everything they've said and more. I'd roll another one if there was a reason to do it.

    Dom "Fix"

I can actually agree on every point there...I just didn't like the idea that somebody thought any blaster should be able to defeat any dom. That's a huge mistake in perception. But yea Psi or Fire should wreck just about any dom out there. Sonic takes it's time to get it's wrecking on (comparatively) so out of the new FotM's your safest bet is fighting these fawktards.

But yea, everybody is Fire/ Son/ or Psi/ so yea...dead things are dead things.
  13. As long as they don't buff it in PvP you can have you Psi/ however you want it.
  14. BatsTarps is xtreme as it gets for MM'ing.
  15. They're actually married IRL.
  16. No comments by the OP since the first page...I smell the bridge dweller....decently fed one at that.
  17. In i12 PvP confuse worked like this...if you were confused you could attack the person who confused you if they were the only thing you could target.

Perhaps when they redid all the mez changes they left confuse alone in regards to NPCs and it could possibly still work this way.

    1. Lots of fast attacks+scourge procs means a scary spike of damage output. Worries me when you see a Corruptor possibly gunning something down in a matter of seconds via a blizzard of bullets like that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

With less than a month of experience how do you think this sounds to anybody with say.....3 months experience?

It's beyond inaccurate it's just plain ignorant. With the way the Dev team is developing powers now, using their Activation/Dmg/End/Recharge or whatever the hell the formula is now, there is no way what you said can, or will happen.

Scourge doesn't start "Proccing" till you get a target lower than 50% their Base Health, which means in PVP if you have +HP Accolades and +HP bonuses it takes that much longer and is that much harder to scourge. Since s/l damage is the most commom and highest resisted Dmg type I really doubt anybody will be "gunning something down in a matter of seconds," if anything it sounds like death by papercut in the making.

I believe the power is working like the other phase powers in the game. Phase shift is no longer an "Unaffectable" "Only affecting self" state. It is now it's own new "Phase" state.

In phase you can phase and attack phased critters. So what yall might want is to change the "Phase" portion of it, to something else that works like the old phase used to, where they were just unaffecting.

If you don't believe me, phase yourself then go put Offensive toggles on somebody and start attacking, you can do all of it, but it'll just say unaffected.

that's exactly what teh NPC's are doing. they are being phased but still attacking...they do no dmg or anything at all but I agree it's a pretty nightmarish scenario to think that you've caged your targets when in reality you probably missed most of them.

They could color the NPC's affected or add some kind of particle effect. That's the easiest fix...who knows what they'll do though if anything.

Any well built blaster who knows what he is doing(this includes having high kb prot) will rofflestomp ANY dom.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    This is inaccurate at best.

Any Psi/ Fire/ or Sonic/ Blaster that is built right should have no problems with any dom. But when a dom is hitting Thunderstrikes for 460pts of damage, it's pretty irresponsible to say that they should never beat a blaster.

KB may be the best Mez in the game but it's not the only way to get a kill, just one of the easiest.

What tools do blasters have that make them have so much more survival?

Hoarfrost and their inherent (attacking through mez portion) is all I can think of...and if I have my Mu Pet out it's put's HF to shame in less than 60 seconds. So that leaves defiance.

Defiance is nice and it does allow blasters an edge vs doms in a sense that while a dom is using it's mitigation (Mez) the blasters can still attack. I hardly think those two things sway the balance in the Blasters favor to the extent of the above hyperbole.

Doms get Domination which doesn't do what it used to do, but still provides some nice Mez Protection, which could be viewed as comparable to Defiance 2.0 in that Doms don't get mezzed as long and are able to do attacks sooner than blasters would. They get Pets in most sets. And a Pet in our epics...also one Assault set has a Pseudo Pet with Voltaic Sentinel. I imagine a blaster going against a smart dom that had the Mu Guardian out, Singy, and VS doesn't sound like he would be just a pushover.

Blaster V Dom = Blaster has a slight edge, but player skill (In building and playing) should close the disparity.

    YMMV

    Dom "Fix"

While Mind may be the gold standard I actually prefer Grav against blasters.

You can cage them after they aim+bu which will give you at least 2-6 seconds of reprieve, you can also use Lift which functions just like Levitate for KB.

Your ST Hold provides -KB so that's the only real "Trick" that you need to learn is the timing on the KB suppression.

You get a TP foe power to bring back runners also stuns and does KB if they don't have any KB protection.

-Movement in Grav is all but useless now, but it's still got Singy plus the other tools I mentioned above. Seems pretty well equipped to deal with a Blaster imo.

On an unrelated note, I learned that using [Burn] on my Arch/Fire blaster provides me with 15pts of Immob Protection, a little slotting and +Rech and it'll be perma. Had a MM webnade me and the "Immob" never even happened, just the -Jump/Fly. Hope it's not a bug...but I bet it is.
