  1. Also, to charge up a badge power you have to earn the badge first. This means logging in to get the badge and then having time logged out for the badge power to charge.

If it takes 21 days to get a badge and 10 days to charge it. Being logged out for 31 days will *not* get you a fully charged badge power. You have to log in at 21 days for the badge to 'ding' and be applied to your toon. Then another 10 days logged out to charge the power.

    Solo TF's

    Solo Task Force.

Consider that phrase carefully. Who can tell me what's wrong?

    Going old school

Most of the story-arc-zones follow this rule: The first two contacts are in a five level range, and the next two are in the next higher five level range.

Hollows: first two are 5-9; second two are 10-14.
Faultine: first two are 15-19; second two are 20-24.
    Striga: 20-24; 25-29
    Croatoa: 25-29; 30-35

The red arrows are the tunnel entrances, the green are the dam entrances. The map that shows the tunnels comes from www.vidiotmaps.com and their map pack is highly recommended.

I agree that this one is a bit tough to find, and there are a few others like it where there is a mission door in an undergound tunnel or waterway. You'll find the waypoint for the door pointing to 40 feet directly underneath you and you have to circle around to find the entrance to the underground area. Faultline has an underground garage. Sky way has underground watercourses. And Brickstown also has underground areas.

It doesn't happen often in CoH, and compared to other MMOs that don't even give you a waypoint for a mission, CoH is very generous in this regard.

    2. Brutes kill before they can be killed.

    3. Put Brawl on auto.

    4. With 'begginer's luck' and fury, don't slot for ACC or DAM, slot for End Redux.

    5. At level 1, go to Grandville and buy a Jet Pack.

Continuous connection with a continuous flow of data back and forth between two devices on the Internet is always tenuous at best. If you've ever seen a streaming video, such as one on YouTube stop to buffer, then you've experienced a stoppage or disconnect. There are protocols for reestablishing connection and resending dropped packets, but even that's not perfect.

The fault could be your computer, your cable lines, your router, your modem, your ISP's cable, your ISP's server, one of the many connections along the Internet backbone, or the game server.

It's not uncommon to experience a few mapservers 'pauses' in one night and even a full disconnect. Just logging back on usually fixes everything.

    This is normal.

Hello, trojan. That has to go. Go to the forums of Malwarebytes and follow these directions and post your HijackThis log in the HijackThis forum and those more knowledgeable than me will help you from there.

You also should get rid of all that other junk in your start-up registries. They may be 'legitimate' programs, but did Microsoft Messenger, Yahoo, AOL, QuickTime, Java, nVidia, Punkbuster, Apple, AIM, etc... get your permission to install themselves in your start up registries? Probably not. Which makes them *illegitimate* intrusiveware.

Cut and paste your HijackThis into this site for an analysis: http://www.hijackthis.de/

Then go to this site for an explanation: http://pchell.com/support/hijackthistutorial.shtml

Or, you just might do well to go the clean slate route:

    1. Make sure you have a Windows OS install disk. (Or wait a few weeks to upgrade to Win7)

    2. Back up all your data.

    3. Reformat the hard drive.

    4. Reinstall Windows and update it. Update all drivers including your motherboard chipset/CPU (go to manufacturer's website).

    5. Reinstall your apps and keep running HijackThis as you do so to see who's secretly insunuating themselves into your startup registries.

    6. Reinstall your data.

So I have him set the mission and I use the mission teleporter power just to see if that works. He sets it and I use the power...sure enough I zone into Ouroboros. This kind of surprises me but I'm there....got the exploration badge and got the ouro. portal for myself....not sure if this is intended or not (and not sure if it has been reported or not)...but I /bug'ed it in game just in case and felt like posting it here to see any responses that I'd get.
    Yeah, that shouldn't be happening.

Was the mission your leader set a flashback mission or a mission from one of the Ouroboros contacts (Lazarus, Pilgrim, Silos, etc..)?

  13. To summarize:

The premise of this entire thread is completely wrong. It posited that there were undocumented changes because the Devs are mean, uncommunicative, and sloppy testers. And those undocumented changes led to bugs.

The fact is that they're simply bugs. Not intended at all. Not a result of secretiveness. Not a result of a plot to get the speed runners.

All it needs now is a big Door in the back so it's obviously Jurrasik's little den that you busted in the back door on.

Also: I thought I was the only one that called that 5 level disaster "layer-cake" ... Glad I'm not the only one. It's the most annoying Blue-Cave room, followed by one I just call "the toilet bowl" ... you know, where you go up a hill that's atop a large cave, over and around above the large cave, then down and across under hill top.
The last map of Numina has both rooms. You have to get past the figure eight room to get to the layer cake room.

That figure eight room is so evil... the continuation of the cave is an entrance overhead that is so easily overlooked.

While the new cave is easily stealthed, well, so is the layer cake one to anyone who knows the 'secret' of the figure eight room.

This is what I have on my main D3.

The high level build is based on level 41 IOs so that I don't loose any IO bonuses when I go to Warburg. And level 41 IOs provide plenty of aspect enhancement that is still better than SOs.

If I'm exemplaring lower than 38, I use my low level build which ignores going for bonuses, but instead over-franken-slots all the pre-30 powers with 5 or 6 slotting. This way, when I exemplar down to a Posi TF, the attacks are enhanced as if I had access to SOs at that level. This low-level build also works very well at high levels because all the post-30 powers I chose are utility powers that don't need multiple slotting to be functional.

So, here is the low level secondary build that uses lots of IOs (for the frankenslotting, not for the bonuses):

Note that I did not put your bogus quotes around the word legal. It's either legal, or it's not. Even Castle acknowledges that. You can build a team that leverages the mechanics and it is in no way, shape or form an exploit.
This is also the reason why Castle said that if he had his druthers, there would be a diminishing returns mechanic for PvE as well as PvP. But he noted the time commitment and the... fallout... for doing such a thing makes it a no starter.

However, I'd be willing to bet that if the stuff that Repeat Offenders do became so common place that it would turn the game into City of Repeat Offenders (with huge numbers flocking to such a practice like they did to AE farms), well, the Devs would find the fortitude to put their foot down on this and we'd be looking at DR in PvE.

Leveraging mechanics to break the design is something any game designer tries to prevent, and if they fail to prevent it, try to correct it.
  21. The integrated video chip is below minimum specs, and so, there may be no solution unless this laptop can somehow accept a graphics chip upgrade, although some people are able to run CoH on the minimum settings on such machines.

Go to the manufacturer's website and see if they have an update for the motherboard CPU/chipset drivers.

You can also clean out your start up registries... some of those background programs might be causing interference, especially since Toshiba has loaded what looks like a shadow-OS onto your computer with all their 'helper' programs.

If you cut and paste your HijackThis log here: http://www.hijackthis.de/ then you'll get a report concerning all those registry items. Go to this site to help interpret the report: http://pchell.com/support/hijackthistutorial.shtml

What's a concern with your registry is that lsass.exe is usually a missing file on Vista machines (but normal for XP). But on your laptop, it appears three times in the start up registries. Seems odd.
