I can no longer chime into the inevitable "level wang" discussions noting that I've been playing for more than four years, don't have a 50, and feel just fine about that, because now I have one.

Oh well. I still don't have a level-capped villain, and it seems kind of doubtful at this point that I ever will, but who knows. Stranger things have happened.
    Congrats.

Now you need to roll a Warshade and go around asking about how you get to Kings Row.

Someone anonymously neg-repped me for this saying...

Glad to see the exploiters are already moving fast on finding new stuff to cheat. Keep providing data for the devs to mine!
So, let me respond to the idiot that sent me that:

    1. I was doing that *before* the Merits were increased which means that even with those 'speed runs,' the data mining the Devs do indicated that the arc deserved an increased reward.

    2. Doing an arc in just under an hour is in no way an exploit. Compare that to a Task Force in under 20 minutes.

    3. The increase in Merits still makes doing this arc in just under an hour a horrible rate of Merit/hour reward compared to running any Task Force.

    4. How can you get the Flashback badge for doing an arc in under an hour unless there are some arcs that can be done in under an hour?

    5. My comment "I don't want to say anymore. " was because I didn't want to spoil the arc for the one who hadn't done it. Not because I was being cheeky about finding an exploit, which I normally send as a PM to the Devs as soon as I find it.

So, learn basic elementary math and basic reading comprehension skills.
  3. Take Earth Control, chose the crystal theme, color it jewel-like, and pretend it's an ice set.
  4. If you're a low level 'support' AT soloing and it's taking for ever to kill a lieutenant and you have to keep Resting in between spawns, then -1 is going to help immensely.
  5. Single target click, 15 minute recharge:
    • 5 * 21.42 Cold damage over 9.20 seconds
    • 28sec Immobilize (mag 3)
    • Slow (RunSpeed, FlySpeed) -0.375 for 18s
    • Slow (RechargeTime 25%) for 18s
    • -Fly for 15s

But, running through Operative Grillo's "Escaped!" arc in Ouro, set for 8, I managed to get the badge in two runs. Now, I finally get to see what all the fuss is about, after 4 years of waiting!

(2 missions in, so far, I like it)

  7. The usual culprits for shutdowns are overheating and underpowered.

Use Speedfan to check on your temperature.

Don't know how to check for power issues on a laptop.

You can try going to your manufacturer's website and see if this is a common problem for that machine. While there, see if there are any updates for you motherboard's chipset/CPU.

In the meantime please check out this thread, Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines

Then post the results of this program:
    • HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format > Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.
  8. 1. Reboot. If that doesn't clear it up...

    2. Delete mouse driver. Reboot, let Windows install default mouse driver.

Depends. The bug results from a screwed up variable and the results are variable. Some things, like an Ouroboros Flashback or a TF seem to be dropping normally. Ordinary missions not so much.

The fix was made internally just recently, it hasn't even hit the Test Server yet, though, I'm guess it will this Tuesday, and then a week later for Live (again, just my guess).

And if the foes are level 47 or higher, then you increase the chance of Very Rare Purple drops.

And if they're Rikti... Vanguard Merits.

  15. We had that same problem last week. The Global server is struggling to remain up... and sane. This might not get fixed until Monday morning's server maintenance.

Go to your CoH directory and delete checksum.coh. Go to the piggs subdirectory and delete sound3.pigg.

    Reboot your computer.

    Run the updater again.
  17. Whenever there's been a memory leak, and playing online for a really long time creates the creeping RAM usage, too; I've found 1.3 Gig of RAM usage to be the tipping point where my system starts becoming unstable and 1.5 Gigs is a sure crash waiting to happen.

Again, using /unloadgfx brings that memory usage down and prevents crashing when there's a leak. Bind it to a key or make a macro out of it.

All I know is that nowadays, its very easy for a level 50 soloing on heroic to come out of a contact [not scanner, but contact] mission with either one basic IO recipe or.... no recipes at all. That is a DEFINITE downward adjustment, and I don't care who posts what; what I see with my own eyes will always trump a claim I cant see as being borne out by actual gameplay.

At this point I think a lot of people have left the game over AE-related issues. The last thing the owners/developers need right now is a confirmation that rewards have been reduced yet again, and you better believe they're smart enough to know that. Therefore I am hardly expecting a tacit admission of "Well yeah, we reduced recipe drops because of balance issues." Bwahahaha! So not happening.

The problem here is that an ever-increasing spiral of prices on the market is going to tick people off even more, which would be facilitated by a reduction in recipe drop-rates. Think about it: most people are doing regular content now, yet the market has not adjusted downward. Why not? This is the most likely scenario I can think of.
Yeah, I'm with you on this!! I'm put out by this. I'm angry. My anger will *not* be satisfied by knowing that this is an unintentional accident. The universe can not be so cruel as to inconvenience me without reason... that way lies MADNESS!!

The best explanation, nay, the only explanation that will satisfy the need for vengeance fueled by my NERDRAGE is that this indignity was inflicted upon me by people so MAD with EVILNESS that they sabotage their own game and brazenly LIE about it though nothing they can do can go without notice, thus driving off their customers and their livelihoods till they and their children go hungry in the streets all because they hate.... ME!!!
  21. I have 'remember enabled' and so did not manually log in and have no identity crisis.

For all those with a secret identity... did you log in manually?

So while we all laugh at the rep troll, and mock him for being so clueless, would anyone care to let him know what the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything is so he knows how old I am.
    42. That's the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything. Part of the problem of knowing the answer was the question being a bit vague. It's been postulated that having a definitive ultimate answer and ultimate question is actually exclusionary and if someone did stumble upon it, the whole Universe would disappear and be replaced by an even more inexplicable one.

Oh, and he's saying that's his age, too.
