Here is a list of the powerpools I have on my grav/emp, with the names of the pools in bold and the powers I've taken in italic (bolded for the power that I mostly took the pool for):
Fitness: Swift, Hurdle, Stamina
Leaping: Combat Jumping
Leadership: Assault, Tactics, Vengeance
Speed: Hasten, Super Speed
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmmm... you're Leadership pool is confusing me: why Vengeance? As a controller you're job is to lock the enemies down to make sure they can't hit you're team. As with the empathy you're using as Secondary, any mobs which do hit them, shouldn't be too bad as you can heal them. With FF, which the previous poster is using, he shouldn't need to heal as much as his powers prevent damage.
I don't like any power which require someone to die to use it. It's a very situational power in that sense, and if you play correctly, it's so situational you'll never have to use it...
But, YMMV, if you could explain why you took Vengence, rather then something else. I'm open-minded..
Also: I wouldn't have chosen Combat Jumping myself, but gone for either Sealth or Recall Friend, it's a shame you can't use both, as that would put you over the pool power limit.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's all about three little letters: PvP. My whole build is geared towards team PvP, so vengeance is painfully awesome. People are going to die in PvP, like it or not, so I may as well make the rest of my team unstoppable after they die. The fact that most of the rest of my SG has vengeance as well kinda adds to the awesomeness of that power.
Combat Jump is for movement, not defence. Ask any melee toon who's fought me whether I'm easy to hit in PvP, and you'll probably get a negative answer. -

It would be great if you can get a stalker with recall friend , you can bypass a lot and cut down the mish time, i did it with one and we did the mish in 45 mins, especially in the final part you can jump from the start to where the tree is,( letting the stalker scout on to find tree) then tp everyone.
Finished in less than an hour.

Well, if you're up for it I happen to have a stalker with recall friend who needs a respec. -
SG/VG Name: Paragon Defenders
Server: Defiant
Hero/Villan: Hero SG
Raidable: HELL YES
Player Amount: Depends on the time of day, anywhere between 4 and 15 people.
Contact: @Xanthus, @Empath, @Extremus
As Silent_ said, give us a couple of days to gather people first. -

Coz its hard to defend
[/ QUOTE ]
I've never had any trouble defending, actually. Part of the problem is that you have to choose a functional base over a decorative one since most SGs just don't have the prestige to do both. -
TK is very very annoying to have put on you, especially if you're a melee type character. The german S4 bantam team used it to keep my scrapper out of the fight and as a result I only got one kill throughout the entire match. The main problem with it is that it absolutely annihilates your endurance bar, even with 3 endrdx's in it.

The most sadistic SGs will focus on destroying expwnsive equipment, and not win the raid, this way, next week when they attack, defenders will focus on the few equipment left, and the anchors will be easy targets.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think that's the general agreement for our SG. If someone comes to our base and takes our IoP, we're going to raid them as soon as we can. No prisoners, no holds barred, no holding back. EVERYTHING that can be broken WILL be broken. -
On the hero side there are arenas in Galaxy City, Talos Island and Peregrin Island. On villains I think the only arena is in Port Oakes, but I'm not sure.
-
I'll be there for the beating!
Also, it's quicker to type /ac to send messages to the arena channel -
Primal is awesome for /rad because you can powerboost the effects of all your buffs/debuffs. Powerboosted AM is awesome, and powerboosted LR is even more crippling to the enemy.

In a instant base raid where we killed a dude using brawl only. Imagine 12 people chasing the same guy and just using brawl. He went down faster than I thought even though he ran like a faster than the wizard Rincewind.
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't know you were a closet Discworld fan, NB!
Yeah, that was pretty funny. I don't think he knew what was happening to him all that time!
My funniest moment was being the first set of villains into BB on live, and hearing the Heroes argue on broadcast about whether we were actually there or not. One guy refused to believe we were there until we actually killed him! At the time, we couldn't reply to them since most people hadn't realised that you had to turn villain chat ON to be able to see it, so they just argued regardless of what we said! -
The short answer is no. If you want a power to allow you to stay alive longer, take Medicine Pool/Aid Self.

Captain Cathode killed "S4 lvl 13 Champion" Diruption 3 times in a row before Disruption ran away like a scolded dog.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait, was this on test? Wasn't Disruption in the Union Bantamweight team? -
[ QUOTE ]
not just that but a sodding map server crash right after. they must be able to fix that...
[/ QUOTE ]
That was kinda my fault. After everyone had died, I managed to make it outside the jelly so I popped an awaken and charged back in (as any sane hami-raider would). At the second that I jumped into hamidon, the zone crashed. -

Wow! 122? The Paragon Defenders can't even get through one mission without 122 deaths!

Each. -

The Valentines event at the moment will grant you a very scary temporary power called "Nectar" which is a combined AOE Placate and Confuse.
I can see that being nasty in PvP in a big fight - pop a bunch of Acc Insps and then drop it on bunch of players in a massive fight. I expect that noone will realise for at least one or two attacks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except I don't think you can actually use it in PvP. -
Team Paragon Defenders: Leader (I think), Nightbringer
-
Hurdle > Health, self heal or no. Take that and Combat Jumping, slot CJ with 2 jumps and hurdle with 3 and your movement is insane.

Devastation vs Daggerboys this weekend
[/ QUOTE ]
Would you be up for Devastation vs Paragon Defenders afterwards? We don't mind defending (in fact, we'd probably rather defend than attack). -
[ QUOTE ]
Ok, How many people would be up for doing it this coming monday?
[/ QUOTE ]
WHY DO YOU EVEN NEED TO ASK!? Most of my SG will be there. -
When do we get to fight you boys then? We're all raid-ready, we just need someone to send the invite!

Xan - I know that Sally is a much better PvP-er than me and that as shes a scrapper has a much better chance against a controller than me (defender). As I am a defender and you're a controller you're going to have a hard time persuading me to make life any easier for you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I have a harder time against rad defenders than against any scrapper you care to throw at me. -

Regen aura is a bit naff, and make sure you get your travel power at 14.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wrong. Slot it 3 recharge 3 heal and it actually has a higher regeneration factor than Instant Healing. -

In a big battle it can get annoying, but I think clear mind is more annoying than break free's, it's way overpowered and need a nerf. Stacked resistance to effects AND stacked perception. :/
[/ QUOTE ]
What? You can't even use it on yourself. Seems to me this is another controller-esque type believing they have some *right* to hold ppl.
CM might be powerful but you try and find someone who remembers to cast it on a regular basis!
[/ QUOTE ]
Any good PvP defender will have CM on the about 90% of the team for the duration of an arena match. -

whats crushing field like? ive been thinking of getting it but only if i know how it plays
[/ QUOTE ]
It's pointless!
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't say pointless. It's great for setting up containment if you've gone fire mastery, since it recharges much faster than your hold will. On the other hand, if you use it as an opener on a mob you'll probably find yourself with more aggro than you can handle.
