Mmm, I don't think so. PBU + LR + the slows from the psi attacks is pretty nasty, plus once you have RI and EF on you you aren't exactly going to be doing a lot of damage no matter your primary.

There are ways around it, plus the debuff toggles are auto-hit. Phantom Army doesn't deal out enough damage to kill you and only lasts for a minute anyway, and you're stupid if you stand next to Spectral Terror. Also, you should really be running a breakfree for the entire fight against a controller.

Oh, and there are ways of dropping the rad toggles without actually hitting your opponent.

Not if you can't hit them, you can't. And fire imps are easy to avoid, since they're only melee.

If you want to PvP with a rad, reroll and take /psi. You have higher damage in a less resisted damage type.

In fact, there's a guy in the US who has NEVER lost a 1vs1 match on his rad/psi defender, and has won every tournament he's entered. That's how good it is.

Sonic is the best defender set EVER. Seriously.

And I swear to god, if anyone makes that stupid "SONIKZ DUNT EXIST LOLOLOOL" joke, I'm going to hit them. It wasn't funny the first time, and it still isn't funny now.

How about weekly? I'll lead one raid with my crew one fortnight, and you guys do one the next?

Or, if we want to be stupid, twice in one day? Hami takes 3 hours to respawn, so it would be possible on the weekend.....

For you guys, probably 3 hours. For people who've had experience doing it? 1 hour to 1 and a half hours. For Hamidon farming SGs, 45 minutes.

Sonic is better for buffing. FF is better for annoying people, although in PvE you tend to annoy your teammates more than your enemies.

Why do you need these?!

Also, you only need three empaths at the most. We usually manage with two and a /emp controller during the mito clearing. After the clearing is done, the controller goes and joins the hold group and two defenders is more than enough.

Surely the easiest thing to do is to include a "Challenege Player To Duel" button, like in Jedi Knight or even WoW? That way, nobody has to go elsewhere and the duelists can duel without being interrupted by other people. In fact, you could even go so far as to make the command apply outside of PvP zones.

The best piece of advice I can give you is PVP IS NOT THE SERIOUS BUSINESS HALF THE PEOPLE IN THE ZONES MAKE IT OUT TO BE! As long as you understand that, it's nearly impossible to not have fun since it becomes really easy to laugh at the people telling you PvP is a SERIOUS BUSINESS.

If they removed inspirations from PvP they might as well rename the game "City Of CONTROLLERS ALWAYS WIN!!"

Nobody can beat a decent controller without breakfrees. Nobody.

This is BS. I know of at least three people who switch toons in between the mito clearing and the holding phase and only the one online at the time gets the HO.

You have to be online, and in the hive, or you will not recieve a reward from defeating Hamidon.

Out of powers listed, power sink is a definitive yes though.

It's a good job that Lightning Field (and all other PbAoE affects) count as Melee rather than AoE then, isn't it? The only "true" AoEs are things like Fireball (if you stand next to the target, but are not the target yourself) and "placed" AoEs like Volcanic Gasses.

Defenders in PvP should be more about buffing and causing problems for the other side than healing. In PvP, being able to heal vast amounts of damage in a split second is more important than having a higher sustained heal/second. Controllers do this better because Powerboost is up way more than Power Build Up.

On top of this, Controller primaries are way more useful than Defender secondaries in PvP. Essentially you're trading off 20% of healing power for a powerset which is WAY more useful than a few piddly blasts.

The best Defender primaries for PvP are FF and Sonic imo, since they definitely cause the most problems for the opposite side (force bubble, Sonic Cage etc).
