Congrats! It's only just begun. Believe it or not you will look back at this time fondly. It is an amazing life altering experience and it will be over before you know it. My sons are 19 and almost 21 now so I know what I'm talking about.

As promised, here is the monthly update.
As of July 1st we now have the following breakdown of arcs with 100 or more plays and that are still rated at 5 stars.
Arcs Published Pre-15 - 11 (9 of these were published in April 09)
Arcs Published Post I-15 - 3
Total Number of arcs out of 65,481 arcs - 14
Put another way: .0002138% of the arcs in the system have more than 100 plays while still maintaining a 5 star rating.

I've been away on vacation for a week and was very happy to find that the Golden Age Secret of the Paragon Society had reached over 200 plays when I returned.
Of course, I couldn't let's this milestone go by without either Twitery Tweating or bligity blogging or posting something on my Faceyspace about it.
This arc took me months to finish and it's extremely pleasing to see that so many have enjoyed it so far. Thanks to everyone who has played it.

Firstly, thanks to everyone who ran this with me yesterday and provided me with their feedback. It was a great help and got me thinking which lead to some modifications.
Update:
- Corrected several typos and grammar mistakes.
- Added a note to all missions that have optional objectives that they appear in light blue in the nav bar.
- M1: Changed map to a sewer map. This made a little more sense, but the real reason is that I was able to find a map that worked better and filled out more in the sewer map set.
- M1: Changed numerous bits of dialog to reflect change to sewer.
- M1: Added many non-required hostages to rescue.
- M1: Added a line of dialog to better explain why a group of PPD might attack a group of heroes.
- M1: Dialog for Battle was inverted (wrong group said wrong things). Corrected.
- M2: Slightly modified the stirring speech Copy Cat gives.
- M2: Added many non-required hostages to rescue.
- M3: No changes
- M4:No big changes

When will we have an idea of the scheduled panels events? Odds are I will only be able to go 1 day and want to pick the best one CoX-wise.
WN -
How about Origins? You guys have not been there since like 2004.
WN -
What do you run settings wise? My tank runs +1 x8 heroes which will cap me in many AE missions. If you are are running at a lower level, then I don't think you will find much storywise that maxs map tickets. If you are running at settings close to mine, I can point you to several story arcs that give max tickets at that level.

Note: This arc has been designed for Smurphy's challenge and is intended to be run with a full team of tough level 50 heroes played by experienced players. Should you choose to run this arc you will likely die, repeatedly. Please don't send me hate mail like "WN what are you trying to do, kill us?" because that is exactly what I am trying to do (in an entertaining way at least though).

Quote:I hate to comment since this is off-topic, but I can't help myself (I tried PW, honest!).
Maybe You cool Cats Should try lvling outside of AE, there a world of Awsomeness out there and beside I believe the Normal Content Story Arcs Award better Award/xp after finishing...It just a thought, I don't mean no harm with this statement.
Green Flame I notice you have been playing for about a year and can understand your perspective somewhat since much of the content is still fresh to you. However, many players such as myself have been with this game for many years, I've personally been playing for over six years. The Dev created content has long gone stale even the stuff I love I have played through at least ten, twenty or even more times. Before MA, for myself at least, my interest in CoX was all but gone.
In my opinion MA was a Godsend and a gift from the Devs to players such as myself. The variety and volume of new stories and foes to fight breathed new life into the game beyond what I could have imagined. It's not perfect and it's still evolving, but it is a wonderful addition to the game that keeps many of us interested.

Update:
- Changed character Eddie's name to Sparkle-pire
- Modified Red Shirts power sets to be Robotic MMs with no pets. This sits the theme much better and with I17 I was able to get them up to 91% exp.

Up for some MA action tomorrow, Saturday at noon est? Meet in the RWZ. I was thinking we can run Fred's new arc.

To keep this thread alive I thought I would start posting monthly updates.
As of June 1st we now have the following breakdown of arcs with 100 or more plays and that are still rated at 5 stars.
Arcs Published Pre-15 - 11 (9 of these were published in April 09)
Arcs Published Post I-15 - 3
Total Number of arcs out of 64,562 arcs - 14
I has not been a full month since the first data was gathered, however it has been around three weeks. In that time the arc closest to HoF Status has gotten 2 plays.
WN -
Well, after my second 1 star bandit Old Dog, New trick has dropped to 4 stars. If you have been holding off playing it, now would be a great time.
WN -
Maybe check out my arc Trademark Infringement #2220?

Quote:I think this idea is good with one exception. All arcs published before I15, a large number of which are long abandoned, would be listed before newer arcs. There are 1000's of them. The numbers are so crazy that there even is an arc rated 2 stars with over 100 plays.Perhaps a simple change would be to display "total number of stars earned by this arc" instead of "average number of stars", and also sort by this rating.
That would let you keep the 1 to 5 star rating system (i.e., requires few MMI changes), but even a 1 star rating moves your arc "forward" in total stars (making "1-star griefing" pointless).
If arc A has 200 plays averaging 4.2 stars and arc B has 2 plays averaging 5 stars, currently arc B appears earlier in the default search. Changing it to total stars would make arc A valued at 840 stars and arc B at 10 stars, putting arc A much earlier in the default search. I think this might be desirable behavior.
Quote:You could also recalibrate Hall of Fame to be 4000 total stars or something. (This might be still kinda high, dunno; this would instantly catapult all 4 star arcs with 999+ plays into HoF status though, so I don't think it's crazy high.)
WN -
I was just looking and noticed that the number of arcs at 5 stars 100+ plus plays has dropped from 13 to 11 out of 64,261 arcs in the system.
Can any redname please comment on HoF and if there are plans to modify it or look into it?
WN -
That was the MA Super Team. We enjoyed playing it and are happy to be of help.
WN -
After Lazarus played this arc yesterday and pointed out that DM may not be the best set theme wise for a cyberneticly enhanced K9 I made the following changes:
- Changed K-10's power set from Dark Melee to Electric Assault.
- Made a few tweaks to some patrol dialog that I felt was not quite right.
WN -
My personal schedule is up in the air so I don't want to commit. If you are going to be around set it up
I will be there if I can.
WN -
Tiny update:
- Add a new Boss the the Wannabes
WN -
Fred's response said most all of what I was going to say. I just want to add I'm out of slots to create more arcs after I finish the one I am working on. Once that is published my MA authoring career is over. I'm sure there are other MA authors in the same boat. HoF is the only other way besides DC to earn a new arc slot.

Quote:Sorry CD5, you are missing something and your arc is not in that bunch. I15 was released on 6/28/09 and your arc was published pre-I15 in April 09. I15 brought several changes that unfortunately and undeservedly gave MA bad word of mouth which drastically decreased the number of player who use it.Whoa, wait, wat? That means my first arc is in the select few (at about 137 plays) and that can't be right. I must be misreading or something... :P
