  1. Was it a mission in the sewers with Shock Treatment? I had the same thing happen to me. Frustrating.

  2. I've always kept track of the number of plays my arcs have. It has allowed me to keep track of which arcs are getting plays and in many cases figure out what rating the arcs are getting. Since Monday morning my arc "A Hero in Need...is a Friend Indeed" has had 175 plays. It's not surprising considering GR's launch that none of my arcs have gotten any plays. This afternoon when I checked it was at 174 plays? I've never seen this happen before. Anyone else seen this?

  3. Now that we can set arcs to be Rogue should Death to Disco! (#84420) be set to that or remain set to Neutral. I never felt it was a Hero or Villain arc since either side can have a desire to stop Disco from being "saved". Opinions?

BTW - Dr, Disco Fever is working on ridding himself of that unfair villain title he has been stuck with for so long.

  4. If you want an example of the TV as a contact in MA try out my arc "Have a Blap, Blap, Blappy Day Kids!" Arc ID: 2019. In the arc Blappy, the most loved kids TV host in Paragon is missing and the TV needs your help before viewership drops. I've always felt that like The Radio, The Television is all about promoting itself and having the most influence over the public.

  5. Updated for I18.

M1: Set clue to Mid to reflect dialog (was set to back to get it to spawn Mid before the fix)

    M2: No changes

M3: Backfire no longer will run at 25% Health, he will fight till the bitter end

M4: Change the location of the two clues

    M5: No Changes

I think what 5 is talking about is the correlation between an arc reaching one of the first few pages in the listing and the inevitable 1 star rating that shortly follows. I certainly can attest to this phenomena most recently with Old Dog, New Trick. Before it got close to the top of page 4 it had gotten only 4 star and 5 star ratings running about 85% being 5 stars. Then 2 1 star ratings with no comments and into 4 star hell where it never gets played. I have seen 1 stars when they reach that point with all of my arcs and very few can survive that sort of hit. Even if it does not drop the arc right away, it usually lowers the average close enough to a 4.5 rating where even 4 stars pull it down into 4 star hell.

  7. Sorry Fred!

As we all know a big part of the problem is how badly unbalanced the lower ratings are compared to the 5 star ratings. This is of course compounded by the fact that anyone can rate your arc no matter how well they understand the system or even if they don't play the arc.

Today I received a 1 star rating on "A Hero in Need...is a Friend Indeed" because "Killed before finished loading at entry.". 170 other plays and not one has had this problem so the odds are it was some set way high of the difficulty scale who didn't realize the arc is rated for 5-14. Other low star ratings have come from such silliness as "the spawns were too spread out" or "too many bosses". Frankly, it is astounding that any post I15 arc stays at 5 stars for any length of time.

  8. - Updated the feedback post (above) since I had not done it in many months.

  9. The Prisoner.

I did like Brisco, but it's not even in the same league.

  10. Yay! That's great Fred! Let's hope it lasts. I have an arc on that 4.5 cusp too and it pops up gets a play or two before it gets a 4 star and drops back to 4 star hell again where it sits for months with no plays.

  11. It is possible to chain boss or AV spawns, however you can not have them "seek and destroy" the player.

    WN
  12. 1. The Prisoner

    2. Kolchak: the Night Stalker

    WN
  13. Well that's it for my picks. I can't feel too bad being 14th to pick and getting two picks this far. GL to those left.

    WN
  14. 1. The Prisoner
    2. Honeymooners
    2. The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr
    4. Dollhouse

This is exactly what I mean. I assumed In Poor Taste had not been played in months. It was written for my husband and sons, so I wouldn't feel too bad.

I wish we would get some Dev comment on HoF. I've been out of slots to write new arcs for awhile now.

I consider replayability to be very important when declaring an arc to be "great."
I think having another stat "Total Plays" is a great idea. I get several replays on arcs quite often though I am uncertain of which arcs are getting them. It would also be useful to the author to see which arcs get the replays since that might inspire them to do a follow up arc of some sort.

  19. Monthly update time. Some changes this month,

As of August 1st we now have the following breakdown of arcs with 100 or more plays and that are still rated at 5 stars.

Arcs Published Pre-15 - 8 (6 of these were published in April 09)
    Arcs Published Post I-15 - 3

Total Number of arcs out of 66,440 arcs - 11

Put another way: .0001655% of the arcs in the system have more than 100 plays while still maintaining a 5 star rating.

Another point of note Teen Phalanx Forever! seems to be just about getting the 10 plays per month average I predicted.

  22. OK, I have been occupied these last few weeks, but have a clear schedule for this Saturday. So:

    MA Super Team Meeting

    When: Saturday, noon EST
    Where; RWZ Triumph
    Who: Open to all

Come join us for some MA arc fun. I've seen a few new arcs on the boards the last few weeks, so I suggest we try some of those.

I ended up not making it. My son woke up late and wanted to do his presents/cake and lunch which didn't wrap up till after 3. I'm not sure about anyone else, but by the time I got on no one was there.

  24. I'm going to try to be there today at noon EST, but it's my younger son's birthday (he's 19). It's going to depend on his schedule. In any case I should hopefully be around for at least part of the time.

  25. Sorry BF! I should have mentioned that my hubby and I are heading down the shore this afternoon. Not sure about anyone else, but summer and all I have seen a dramatic drop in my arc plays (none of my 4 stars ones have had a play in weeks!). So, I suspect many are outside or off on vacations.
