  1. Are you using any parts like Monstrous Legs or one of the beast heads on the new character? If so, then surely some of the borg parts would not be available.

To test, make the character with a plain Human head and body, then you should see the cyborg stuff in the character creator.
  2. First check your powers. Is there one called Self Destruct? If so, then you certainly should be able to find the costume pieces at the tailor. If not, then something happened with your account and the Cyborg pack is missing from it.

    *** EDIT ***

Lemur Lad is hereby awarded 5 Neener Points.

Isn't Lusca's head (after the tentacles are gone) actually the absolute easiest? The few times I have been a part of a Lusca team, I do not recall ever seeing the head attack or do anything other than pathetically bob around in the waters of IP.

  6. And if you don't have the Architect Edition yet, I highly recommend you buy that and use it to get the Magic booster pack. Since the AE also includes a month free ($15 value), your total cost will be negative $5.

I'll happily discuss advantages vs disadvantages. But that's *not* the same as OS snobbery. I'm running Windows 7 (and, on my work system, XP.) I've run, and generally like, OS X. Linux I've run on occasion, but not as a main OS, but do think it's getting to a point where more people *could* use it (and paving over some of the distro-fracture is good.) Is one better than the other? Is a hammer better than a paintbrush? They're tools. Something which some of the users need to *stop* being in these discussions.
Ah, the OS wars. I have seen the future. I know how this war ends...

  12. I had a neg rep posted for an innocent little comment I made in the Praetoria is not Goatee Paragon thread. I just observed that at first glance it looked like not ****** Paragon, and someone negged with "Bad mental image is bad."

    Hmph.

I can imagine how it woulda been even worse for me had I added that the first part looked like Petoria is not...

Well, being a MA scrap kind of guy, I'd never suggest that and when I checked the thread all I had said was that i had a fifty and might be able to help but don't have mid's at work.
Who ever negged you is obviously the type who believes that there is only ever one single valid build for any powerset. Personally, both of my MA scrappers took Dragon's Tail, because it is useful and looks cool. One (MA/WP) took it right at 26, but the other (MA/SR) had to put it off until 38, as other things took priority (Aid Self at 26 for her). I'm sure there are situations where one may need to forgo DT altogether in order to get in a much more needed power, or it may simply fit the character's design to not have that one power.

At any rate, build the way you like (not directing this specifically at the OP). There is no "One True Build(tm)" that all must adhere to lest you be ostracized from any team forever and ever.

That being said, I have a tri-form Warshade and a Triform PB that I am leveling up on Champion. And I bet the power picks and slotting I am choosing for these would make certain people spin in their graves (even if they are still alive). But so what? I am picking these because they are fun and fit the characters. Once I get them into their 20s and get them fully planned out for frankenslotting, I will have to post the builds in the Kheld forum and see how many "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOs" it generates.

Things that I would do if I was Posi: :P

    - Doors in zones lower then Talos Island (i.e. zones where players are pre-Stamina) should be coded to not spawn bosses.
    - Zombie scaling needs to be addressed.
    - Give us a scrap of blessed daylight. Maybe reverse the day/night cycle. Personally, I find the weeks of perpetual darkness sort of depressing. It also makes it impossible to design costumes properly.
1: Instead, how about making them honor the Bosses/No Bosses preference in the difficulty settings. Most of my lowbies rather enjoyed the nomarific experience from those bosses (as well as the chance at nice rare recipe drops and chance for large inspirations, even if they were pretty tough fights at times.

2: Agreed. Give us a few more zombies, since the badge for them is the second highest requirement of them all.

3: You can adjust the ambient lighting in the costume creator now. It's that pair of buttons underneath the character.
  15. Just had another successful solo lowbie session. My Ice/Storm Controller just went from 6 to 10 via Trick or Treating on her own. Sure, she had a few little mishaps here and there (like when her hold would miss a Crone or Vamp Lord, but overall, it went quite well for her). One Wolf away from Shifter, but still needing quite a few witches and zombies, and decent progress toward Ostentatious.

Oh, it wasn't all Trick or Treating. She did get in her Atlas Safeguard and the Negotiator mission as well.

I am finding it annoying that the monsters can attack us even when we can't attack them right after they spawn, so that by the time you do land your first successful attack on a Werewolf, he has already hit you a good 3 or 4 times, leaving you with only a small sliver of health. Really, if they are going to make them unattackable as they spawn, then they should not be able to get in any attacks either. Treat their spawning like Intangible powers (only affecting self).

I think that is what the afore-mentioned face sliders are for. You start with a base model, and then using the sliders, you should be able to tweak that base model into the ethnic look of your choice.
  17. Counterpoint...

I've been having a great time with my lowbies on the Halloween stuff. In fact, I have this Assault Rifle/Ice Blaster on Virtue who ended up being the first of all of my characters to have all of the associated badges (despite having only made her a couple months ago and despite having high level characters who have been around for well over 2 1/2 years).

That badge count includes all the different monsters from Trick or Treating, the 3 costume badges, Jack, Eochai, and the Unseelies, all Zombie invasion badges, and all the Banner badges (plus the two Banner temp powers that matter...Seduction and the Scare Bear Stare).

Soloing, it was a bit of a chore for her. But the several times she managed to get on good teams, Halloween was a real blast for her (no pun intended).

And the kicker is, she is only level 10, and will remain locked at 10 until after the Winter Event.
  18. I managed to pull it off using Young 11/Makeup 5, and then adjusting the face sliders to taste.

Worked well with both the Bangs hairstyle (above pic), as well as Looped Braids...

Well, everyone who are not among the many new players who have joined up recently. Fortunately, I think there was enough spoiler space (at least at 1680x1050 resolution) to keep anyone at that res or lower from "accidentally" hitting the spoiler.

Considering just how many MMOs are out there, I suspect one could count on one hand just how many actually have more than 200K subscribers. CoH/V is probably in the average as far as subscribers go (once you toss out the extremes on either end...if you didn't, then everyone except one particular game would be below average).

Again, not very well, apparently, since you had to go rescue him. Still, it could've been worse. They could've sent someone to infiltrate the Clockwork.
Or The Devouring Earth? Then again, I don't recall ever getting them in any radio missions.
  22. Oh, and it was actually even weirder. After I posted, I took a look at what was said before what I showed.

Here's the full transcript of the conversation...

    Quote:
[NPC] Cog: We can afford to let you live if you help us, how's that?
[NPC] Audrey Farber: Look, I'll just put it simply: Crime just doesn't pay. Seriously. How much do you guys make?
[NPC] Cannon Prince: Actually, you know, she might have a point.
[NPC] Cog: The money may not be great, but evil is it's own fringe benefit!
[NPC] Audrey Farber: These guys are idiots.
[NPC] Cannon Prince: I ain't ready to go straight yet!
[NPC] Audrey Farber: So many criminals are just dumb. 9 times out of ten, they'd make more if they just got a job.
Perhaps I am just too easily amused.

At least the boss didn't do the punchline to the leprechaun joke.

Come to think of it, I've never heard a clockwork do that one (BP masks on the other hand seem to have a particular fondness for it though).
  23. Okay. I just had a radio mission (a rescue) where apparently the "situation" really really did not match the villain group I was up against.

Check out the chatter between the rescuee and her captor. Does this seem a little odd to anyone else?

Anyone else encountered missions where the crime and the perpetrators seem like a very unlikely match?
  24. Surely I am not the only one who at first glance read the subject line as

"Praetoria is NOT "******" Paragon". Right?
  25. For Skipper's quest (for future reference), if you hunt them around the pumpkin farm, you are sure to be in the right area.
