Grrrr on the next to the last mission of the Silver Mantis SF and the ONLY server down is the one I live on. I demand an advance copt of Going Rogue be delivered to my door as compensation for my troubles LOL
-
My very first Scrapper was MA/Regen ... My theory on attacks is MORE is always better than less and I have them all along with Air Superiority. When I got to Epics I took Body Mastery which added Focused Accuracy and now even my Vet reward Sands of Mu is effective and in my attack chain. I am not one to spend Billions IOing out a characetr but she does have generic 50 level Ios in most slots and can handle ANY EB. If it gives you any more incentive to try.. I tend to like trying different powersets but I have TWO MA/Regen scrappers at level 50 now and the second has Dimensional Warder after soloing all of those Praetorians as Elite Bosses.
It may not be the most DPS scrapper out there but it will definately hold its own solo or on a team and i like the animations. Enjoy your new addition and have fun! :-D -
Never mind WHILE I was asking the question it cleared itself up LOL Now I have a plus 54000 prestige again.
-
I went into edit mode with aboutn 150,000 in prestige and bought 1 enhancement storage bin for 95000. Checking my totals using the tab on top of the chat box I show a little over 50000 left which is right for what I spend. But when I went BACK into edit mode I show a -45000 balance to work with and can't add anything?
Do I need to petition or just wait for the data base to learn to add and subtract? -
-
Yeah I did sort of forget SSK and I agree it has drastically imrpoved the game so I'd add Issue 16 to my list as well. (Okay so that's six .. sue me). This not only made PUGS easier but also lets a 49 level join a team of level 9s and keep getting XP, INF and prestige (if in SG mode) like they were on a level 49 team. Suddenly players were perfectly willing to do Task forces that had slipped past them, trials and hey no one MY level is on at the moment.. "Sure I'll come down from PI to Steel and help you pound on Outcast, Tsoo, etc"
Now about the only time CAN'T find a team is when I am in solo mode and simply am not looking for one. -
Quote:Certain forms yes but "Pissing me off" is widely accepted as simply meaning upsetting me or making me angry and has nothing to do with bodily functions. Okay enough on that on to part two (LOL)While "crap" is accepted (and pretty much the only good expletive available, really) in the MA, I want to say that certain forms of "piss" are rejected.

Blushes and stand up clearing my throat nervously "Ahmmm Hello my name is Taxibot Sara2.o and I am a Temp Power-oholic" LOL I will purposely pick missions from contacts because I KNOW I'll gain another Temp. I head to Striga at 20 level for my Wedding Band, Holy Shotgun and Warwolf Whisle then off to Croatoa for my Longbow and Claymore. I always do the PWNZ badge mission for my Beanbag shotgun (very usefull in dealing with Tsoo Scorcerors) and simply MUST have the Nemesis Staff you get in the 30s. I am currently moving from dayjob to dayjob to add the Accolade powers (Frag Grenades, Sleep Grenades, Baton, Combat Shield, etc). Add in the temps from Safeguard "Arms Deal" side missions and you can acquire a very large number of added attacks. Oh and lets not forget Shivan in BB and the previously mentioned Nukes in Warburg along with Snowbeast from the Winter event, etc
Sara is up to 7 power trays to accomodate all the temps she is carrying around along with her normal powers and I have plenty of other characters not far behind her. ;-D -
Blue side... Controller .. Love the ability to solo and be a huge contributor on a team. Behind them I'd go with Blasters. It took me a while to warm up to them but now I enjoy standing back and blasting away while the scrappers and tanks take the damage.
Red Side... MasterMinds .. other AT solo well MasterMinds don't just do it well they excel at it. I enter a Mayhem mission and I don't leave until all the sides are done, the bank is robbed and all the PPD that respond after the Signature hero is defeated are history and not a single destructable object is left standing. And usually I exit with a good bit of time STILL on the clock. behin them I'd pick my SoA. I love the diverse option I have for my build and the fact that they can team or solo well -
Quote:/signed as well And how is this for a way to do it? Through Portal Corp in PI. Hey the Clockwork King has a world, or two, where he's managed to take control so why not Doc Vahz or even one with Warriors, Hellions and Skulls locked in eternal combat? Now keep in mind Doc Vahz has made a come back as the new AV in part 2 of the new Positron TF but still that has him and his forces pretty much disapearing by the time you reach level 20 and head off to Talos and IP. The whole idea of portal travel is alternate realities where villain groups have succeeded in taking control unlike here on OUR earth. So why couldn't the Skull or Outcast.. whoever find a way to take control of a world and turn it into their vision of "perfect"?/signed, /signed and triple-/signed
I really like the idea of some of the low level thug groups having a slightly modified resurgence in the upper levels. Alternatively, one could have things like Freak Hellions and Freak Skulls! Imagine cybernetic demon-summoning fire spewers, or robotic-skeletal dark-blasters. I think the idea has merit.
Also, I really wish there would be more to the Vahz. I like the group, and think that the Mad Scientist really should get some more "screen time." Besides, what kinda mad scientist like the good Dr. just lies down and stops fighting after being beaten once? Maybe he could have some crazy zombie-launching GM version as an upper level zone event. Imagine the carnage! -
/signed Great idea and I even like the villain group you picked. Nothing against the Hellion or Skulls but the Trolls do seem to have more history including creating the Hollows. It could be a very interesting story arc or even a Task Force. Hey there has been talk for years about revamping zones and even creating more CoOps.. the Trolls exist in Boomtown so why not do a make over on what is almost a completely dead zone, turn it into a coop and create a TF that heroes and villains can do together. Leave the same basic enemy groups in there that exist now (COV and COH both have Trolls, Council, Clockwork, and now 5th Column so the only added group for villains would be the Outcast that roam there as well). Add a few contact for each side and everyone gets more content as well.
The story line could revolve around a Troll AV determined to run off the Oiutcast and warring Council/5th Column even if it takes creating another HOLLOWING. Outdoor Instance missions could allow the team to battle Troll, Council and 5th Column bosses and their forces in an effort to keep the growing war fro escalating. Add a mission where the team heads beneath the surface into Troll tunnels (similar to the ones in the Hollows) to defuse X number of bombs being planted to HOLLOW Boomtown and a final confrontation with the TROLL AV and his minions. How does that sound? :-D -
Okay here is what I have been doing since I have almost 40 characters on Virtue between 2 accounts. I run missiion and get temp powers. I craft and then if I get a duplicate I send an email to myself with the temp as an attachment and a message statiung "up for grabs". When I log on someone that doesnt have that yet they claim it and then they email any duplicate again.
Hey temps come in very handy during time travel missions, especially low levels ones, between keeping 5 levels of powers above the mission itself now and the temp powers I find myself vastly outgunning whatever I am facing. :-D In other words even now that the market is back up I haven't sold a single one and have no plans too. -
That's it? He said "crap" and "Pissing me off" Okay straight from Paragon Wiki:
History
Michael was the son of a gang enforcer. He joined the Paragon City police force to try and make a difference. When he realized that was not getting the job done he adopted the name and costume of a hero, the Back Alley Brawler. Michael used training techniques from all over the world to toughen his resistance and increase his strength. All through the late 70's and the 80's, he fought in the streets and alleys of the city. The Brawler briefly went into retirement after that, but came back out to help with the Rikti War. Now he coordinates the efforts of heroes in Galaxy City.
SO basically we are talking about a TANKER who grew up in the slums with a father that was a minor villain. He joined the Police Department, always known for their tact in conversation when dealinjg with the criminal element, and then became a super hero and battled Street gangs for years to slow the rising drug trade. The fact that those are all that came out of his mouth was that is amazing and I am sure his pastor, if he attends church, is very proud of the strides he's made in curbing his cursing. I have a 15 year old daughter that curses worse than that. LOL
If that's the worst thing that any NPC ever says in game I seriously doubt we have a major problem. I hear a whole lot worse in local chat and that comes from the players themselves. Yeah I refuse to turn on the profanity filter because frankly it upsets me when I say Oh My G O D! and it comes out Oh MY $%@! I rarely get upset and use actual profanity in game but lumping the woird "G O D" in with terms I can't even use here just isn't right. -
Freedom and Virtue have the largest populations normally. Virtue, where I exist, is widely regarded as the Role Play Server while Freedom supposedly boasts more PvPers (I can not confirm that its just what I have heard). Infinity, where I started, had roughly the third highest p[opulation although I've heard rumors that its slowly dying after the Free server transfers occurred over the winter.. Keep in mind there have been rumors for years that certain severs were being MERGED do to lack of players and that has never happened.. Rumors are very much like opinions everyone has one and none of them are right or wrong until proven LOL
Beyond those three I am lost since I have never played on any others.. Hey I've never been on Freedom but it and Virtue are always the two with more than one little DOT on log in when ever anything special occurs. They all have their own player base and personality so, as suggested, try out a few and find the one you like. Now if you enjoy Role Play .. I can definately recommend Virtue. I have arrived in Steel Canyon via the train from Kings row and found people standing on the raised platform RPing away like mad.
Welcome to the game Have FUN! -
No question for me it has to be Taxibot Sara2.0. She was my first 50 level and I'm eager to see what Incarnate powers do to boost her Ill/Emp/Ice and Ill/Emp/Fire [dual build] power sets. I also plan to go rogue with her since she IS my badger and she NEEDS that 1000 badges badge BADLY lol I have also considered the awesome effect of teaming up with a couple of friends Stalkers once I get there. Hide and Superior INV combined? I confuse the minions while the Stalker takes out the Lieutenants? And all before anything even knows we are in the building! OMG Becky we are amazing! LOL Sorry my Valley Girl slipped out for a sec.
-
Yeah well she is too big and too shy to try and flip over to check. LOL Come on I can defeat her with one shot from brawl.. one time I looked at her cross and she dove for cover. Anyway no she isn't extinct and, as mentioned earlier, unless it changed with I 17 she spawn and once "defeated" ( by breathing on her hard) she dives to the bottom of the lake and resurfaces 45 minutes later. Actually since the popularity of Croatoa has waned a bit recently I've seen her much more often than before. Turgenev said it best "you young kids don't realize how hard it used to be to spot her. We had to get up a 2AM and our father dragged us to the lake without breakfast. We'd stand around for hours hoping to spot her before another team so we could attack her. Did I mention the snow drifts were 10 feet high? We didn't have any shoes and it was uphill both ways to and from the lake?" LOL

I dont look at number I just enjoy what I play but a friend and I have twin DS/DM and the effect is amazing. Between the damage and the debuffs we cut through bosses, lieutenants and minions with ease. Our power selections differ slightly.. at this point (level 22) we don't even have the second Demon yet. I haven't taken tar patch yet opting for Twight Grasp, Darkest Night, and Howling Twilight all enhanced to optimise debuff, slow and disorient. She has Tar Patch along with Howling Twight and Twlight Grasp. We both use HT as often as it is available so everything is moving slow, disoriented and easy to hit. Now add in the damage we put out together and almost nothing, including a few elite bosses, has been able to stop us so far. I cant wait to get the second Demon and the Demon Prince!
Personally I HOPE they don't nerf it but every time we play those characters we discuss how long before someone decides we are TOO powerful. Shhhh don't tell the Devs we can't wait to hit the 30-40s and ruin Romulus' day in Cimeroroa together LOL -
I no particular order..
# 7 Gave us Mayhem missions, as you mentioned, and also added Grandville and increased the level cap for Villains from 40 to 50 prompting a TON of retired villains to appear and scramble for 10 more levels LOL
# 8 Added Safeguards hero side and for the first time it wasn't necessary to run everywhere until level 14. Also gave us new content with the revamp of Faultline and started the VET reward system.
#9 Gave us the Invention and Market system which drastically changed the game making it possible for any hero or villain for have the best available enhancements through crafting or simply by selling and buying the best SOs. It also gave Villians their first opportunity to battle Hamidon
# 10 Gave us the RWZ and the first opportunity for COV and COH players to team other than during the special event in Pocket D.
#11 Which gave us Ouroboros and the ability to travel back in time. Not only adding content of its own but allowing all those desperate badgers out there to relax and enjoy the game without worrying about missing that "Badge mission" from the contact.
Not saying that the other issues haven't been good and added to the fun but those 5 issues dramatically altered the game in a period of just slightly over 2 years. Leveling became easier, travel was easier, finances improved and a huge amount of content was added. I can still recall, prior to issue 8 getting my MA/Regen scrapper to level 19 and discovering I had used up every mission from every contact I had. I soloed a lot back then and hadn't discovered the fun of task forces so with more than 5 bars before I hit 20 I found myself street fighting and running door missions in PvP to get to 20 so my contacts in Talos and IP would talk to me. Prior to issue 9 it was not uncommon for characters in the 30s to still be buying and using Training Origin enhancements because they couldn't even afford DOs much less SOs. Issue 11 allowed the serious badge hounds to stop living at the debt cap so they could coax a badge mission out of a contact .. now if you miss a badge just go to Ouroboros and run it. Heck with the new merit system in place I do most of them that way and not only add badges for doing time travel missions but gain reward merits for completing the mission itself. And this doesn't even include QoL improvements like upping the amount of influnce/infamy a player can transfer, adding stores in Kings Row, new train stops on the green line, and the addition of PURPLE recipes. -
TankMage? Not really I seriously doubt you want to try and play TANK with the likes of Romulus or Hero 1 with a SoA but they do have a good bit of damage and decent defense. I look at mine as more of a BLASTER that actually has some defense! LOL At 32 I have taken every long range attack I can and I solo and team quite well.. I did NOT fair well solo ona time travel mission against Dr. Aeon as and Elite Boss which sort of kills yout TankMage idea.
I like mine and am enjoying playing her :-D -
This same type of question has come up in numerous threads and basically it's your build so if all you plan to do is solo drop SB and enjoy. If you occasionally team use dual builds and have a team build that includes SB. Now I realize trying to completely IO one build is very expensive let alone 2 but the Devs have said time and time again the game is designed to be played, and played well, using nothing but SOs. So IO out your solo build and just use SOs on the team one and you should be fine. Oh... Um those Devs were, of course, assuming people play at +0 X1 not +4 X8 so if your one one of those teams you MAY have some trouble. LOL
I'm sure if you go with no SB at some point you'll run into someone that will HATE you because you don't have it but from the other discussions like this that I have seen here most people have the attitude that its your build and as long as it works for you and you contribute when teaming .. Enjoy! -
ZUHL "Ray when a supernatural being from another dimension ask if you are a god the answer is always.. YES!" LOL Besides I like the idea of my powers come from a Giant 100 foot tall StayPuff Marshmellow man that stomps on churchs! (just kidding) ;-D
-
GREAT LIST Impish. I think you covered just about everything I have seen people asking for and I certainly hope the Devs read this and take some action.
I'm not sure I may have missed it but I'd add a few I know people, myself included have begged for ...
NPC characters for the base.... Doctor/Nurse for the Medbay/Infirmary. Computer Geek in white shirts and ties for the control room. Engineers in coverall for the Generator room. A Security Guard or Secretary for the Entrance. Anything along those lines to give the base an actual "lived in" look and make it appear to be your SG Headquarters with a working staff helping you as you battle crime.
Under base item .. Wall signs for specific room like "Danger High Voltage" for the Generator Room or ""No food or Drinks allowed" in the Control room (hey it is supposedly a computer room right?). How about some directional signs for new members like "Teleport chamber this way ===>" ?
And I know a LOT of bases, one of mine included, that have pools. Can we please get actual water as a floor option?
My personal wish list...
More wall design options Like CAVE wall (similar to COT bases) including floor designs and ceiling designs to match of course . I actually like some of the Arachnois base designs why can't we have those as options.
I've gotten pretty good with "magic desks" but how about eliminating the need by actually giving us ways to create a second story in room with stairs.
More decorative options.. I love the privacy screens you find in the Mother Mayhem Asylum and they'd be perfect in a Medbay/Infirmary.
100% totally and completely agree with the option for RECIPE storage just like salvage. -
Geez What level are you at and what are you trying to fight? I have several /SD Scrappers and none ever had the issue you describe. Okay I tend to hit the sewers on a 7-8 manteam in Atlas and come out of there a 6-8 level depending but after that I was able to solo/team effectively with both my DM/SD and my BS/SD Scrapper. I am talking even before DOs let alone SOs. Sure you need to go a little slower at lower levels and take on one mob at a time but I don't recall ever having to back away from a battle .. I just pop a respite if I get too low on health and keep pounding till nothing was left standing but me. Heck with my DM/SD by the time I hit SOs I was upping the difficulty solo to level faster and make it more interesting. I'm not saying SD is THE best secondary but it certainly never gave me those sorts of problems
-
You can never have TOO MANY Demon Summoners! LOL I joined the ranks of the FoTM and currently I have one at level 18. I team with a good friend that has created a DS as well and the combo is devastating.. Let's see playing as a duo we have already managed to get Impounder and Vandal Badges out of the way and I need a little over 100 more PPD for that Mayhem badge. We don't Do mayhem missions we demolish them and leave absolutely nothing to attack when we go (that includes cardboard boxes, metal crates, etc..) We took on Tsoo in a newspaper mission and it seemed like the whole thing was filled with Sorcerers. They went down so fast I was amazed.
I think its an extremely fun powerset and am enjoying it. And before anyone asks My minions are named
Grunt
Grumble
Growl
and Fickle
I am planning to name the next Fester and I haven't quite decided what to call my Demon Prince yet (How does BOB sound? No? Okay I'll work on it more ) LOL :-D
