  1. The sign in KR is new but Jack has been taking naps on his throne for a while. I discovered him just like that a couple years ago and assembled a team to battle him. Everyone was amazed to see him like that since it doesn't happen often .. He did get up and fight when we finally attacked. Not sure how long after that but I did join a team that was preparing to battle him later and when I arrived in Croatoa he was napping again.

Hey being the leader of a group of evil lawn gnomes is hard work. A guy needs a nap now and then.

Using the average damage output I can expect from my Fire blaster I can do slightly over 3000 HP of damage running through all of my attack once and that was before I added ION which has the potential to do close to 2500 more.. That's 5000 HP of damage before I have to hit a single button twice.. go anything that comes close to that

Okay Bill I'll take a crack at it for you

Let's start by saying I fully understand the reason the KB isn't liked. I too have Tankers, Scrappers, Brutes, Stalkers and SoAs that have found themselves running across a room to finish off the guy I was battling after someone knocked them far far away from me. It's not just annoying to you at times it can even be annoying to the person with KB. Nothing ticks me off more than battling some mob on top of a wall, building, or whatever and my KB drops one or more of them over the edge and now I either have to jump down there to finish them, wait for them to get back or just skip them completely.

That out of the way in many cases the reason my Blaster, Mastermind, etc HAS kickback is to help them stay alive. My health points are not as high as your TANK so if I get 2-3 minions in my face because YOUR aggro didn't work or my damage was just so much higher it made them want me more than you I am NOT about to stand there and die just so you don't have to move 20 feet to hit something again.

Now I TRY my best to mitigate the effect.. position myself so I drive mobs into walls or whatever instead of just scattering them everywhere but let's use a Robotic MM as an example.. I can only control my bots to a certain degree and once I say attack they move into range and attack.. I can't control where the bodies fly. Now let's get down to basics... My bots do a good deal of damage and my MM has Dark Miasma so the question is do you want my DPS and my debuff or not. If you want me there to debuff the bad guys I can't do it if I am dead so DEAL with my bots KB.

Now I can and as mentioned do try to control the KB my other characters do but again.. Some of the KB attacks I have are my AoEs and among the best damaging attacks I have. If you invited my Blaster to your team I assume you want me to kill stuff.. if I stop using half my attacks to make the scrapper feel happy am I doing my job as a member of your team.

Oh and lets not limit the effects of KB to blaster, trollers, etc.. I have played with Tanks, Brutes and Scrappers with Shield charge... Nothing I enjoy more than centering my nuke attack, RoA, Full Auto, ect on a mob and then just as I pull the trigger watching the entire mob scatter and if I am LUCKY it hits one minion when I was trying to hit 12 or more. I threw this part in since its almost always the melee troops that gripe and moan about KB both here and in game. So my Archer isn't supposed to use her Exploding arrow because some scrapper may actually have to move to attack but the tank can scatter a mob all over the room with Foot Stomp.

Like just about everything else the Devs have given us KB has a function and since I don;t particularly enjoy laying face down on the floor while you stand on my head hitting bad guys I have no desire to run to Pocket D so Null the Gull can shut it off.

At one point I actually created a macro for my archer...

"I apologize in advance to my team mates for the bodies I will be scattering around the room with some of my more powerful attacks"

When the TANK can promise me that his taunt will absolutely keep every minion, lieutenant and Boss out of my face then i will consider shutting it off... [short pause] there I considered it and the answer isn't just NO it's H3$$ NO! lol

And I can see why, I can't think of another phrase you could use to name your lore pets. Perhaps someone else will have something for you. I actually could think of a couple things but they don't begin with "the whole" so it wouldn't exactly fit your theme there.

NO I hate to bust your bubble but the only AT that can rename their Lore pets, and probably the reason you think otherwise since you have 7 MMS, are Masterminds. Any other AT doesn't get that option. And before the rant starts I too have MMS that now have Lore pets and I was able to rename them but when I tried to do the same with my Crab Spider, my Controllers, my Tanker.. I wasn't allowed to do so.

Its because MMs are coded to be able to rename their minions while other AT, like controllers, can't rename or control their's. Personally I think the whole things a little silly... Okay I can buy the MM can control where their pets go and what they do while my controller can't but what does that have to do with giving my Phantom Army or Singularity a name.

Secondly, this is not a question of "Is it imbalanced?" it's a question of "Does it make you want to punch puppies?" I can deal with a long disorient or hold, heaven only knows how many I've taken to the face over the years. But movement/recharge slows are just the biggest ***hole move in the game. Oh sure, you can still technically move and attack...If you don't mind moving like a slug on vallium. It's a matter of frustration.
Punch Puppies.... No change my strategy and take out the Swat guy first before he get to use the grenade, if possible..YES Now of course this doesn't always work and I can understand what you are saying. Its not as bad with a ranged character but moving at that speed with a Melee character can be a nightmare. Still I find by clicking on Ninja Run until the effect wears off I can move at a reasonable speed. And Yes I understand not everyone has Ninja Run but if you do its a huge help. I play with a good friend from the west coast and his answer to the problem is hover. While I am slowly moving along he hovers ahead and blows stuff up.

Now I would not be heartbroken to log on one day and discover that the glue grenades were gone but I have never found them annoying enough to keep me from doing Mayhems.

Oh and BTW guys let's not confuse Mayhems with Safeguards. Red side the main thing you battle in the streets all the way to 50 level is PPD and when the SWAT teams leave they are replaced by PSI cops and Hardsuits. Malta shows up in higher level Safeguard missions on Blue side. Now between 45-50 when the Mayhem takes place in PI the side mission mobs are Knives of Artemus, which are aligned with Malta, but we don't deal with Tac Ops or Sappers in any Mayhem.
  7. Actually they do a good bit of damage. No don't expect them to take down a boss while you aren't looking but I have launched into a mob and taken out the Lieutenant only to discover the 2 minions were gone by the time I was done.

Are they mandatory.. No but I enjoy my small army of spiders.. 3 spiderlings and 2 Arachnobot Disruptors plus my Archnobot I got from having Black Scorpion as my Patron. Add in the 2 pets I got from Lore and I have as many minons as most Masterminds.

The spiderlings are the weakest of course but still do misdirect some aggro from me and add damage. Sadly like all non MM pets they go where ever they feel like going so I do tend to pick the situations I use them in but Elite Bosses drop l.ike flies when I launch all 8 pets along with my own attacks. All those pets make me a very popular addition to the prisoner phase pf any BAF trial
  8. Rial You need to calm down a bit and just relax. Let's look at a few of the comments made in this thread..

Yes the trials are a form of farming in the sense that we are doing the same mission over and over but its not PLing. Every one on the trial is already a 50 level at least. YES they can earn level shifts up to +3 by doing trials and slotting powers but they are STILL only 50 levels. In the old days, prior to SSK, PLing involved a low level toon arriving in PI and joining a farm. A bridge sat at the door to the mission with him and mentored him so he got XP like a 50 level. It was possible in a single run of that farm mission to go up 2, 3, 4 or more levels and they earned INF at the rate of a 50 level as well. THOSE days are long gone ... a 1 level can join a 50 level team if they will have him but aside from earning more XP because he's on a 7 or 8 man team instead of solo .. He will earn the same amount of xp as he would on a team filled with players his own level.

Farming takes many many forms.. I have farmed for badges in the past. Joined a group on a mission with Carnies so we could farm pets. Defeat the summoned illusionists, the Phantom and Dark Servant and then let the Boss re summon until you got your badge.. Heck I did it solo in a mission once when i was close. Found a master illusionist on the top floor of a mission and took out her pets. Hit the elevator and went down one level allowing her to recover and res,,om and then.. went back up and attacked her again and again until I had the badge.

Hopefully they will continue to add new trials to give us something different to look at and personally I hope they do eventually give us incarnate contacts so players can solo or join 2-8 man teams and earn the same powers as the trials but for NOW the trials are what we have to work with IF we want these new powers.

The game is and has been changing for quite a while and there are people out their with rare sets in slots to get bonuses, purples in slot for even bigger bonuses and now people with tier 3 or 4 enhancers in all 5 incarnate slots ... But the fact is, and unless its changed, the devs will tell you this game in still designed, trials aside, to be played SUCCESSFULLY with nothing more that SO enhancements in slots. Now if you want that added power and are willing to spend the INF to buy IOS and purples or run multilpe trials to open and enhance incarnates it is your choice.

I understand your concerns but you keep making it sound like someone is saying you can't succeed in this game without THIS so you must do THESE trials or you will fail miserably. The ITF and the STF were around long before the incarnate system existed.. did people run them and succeed without a +1 level shift and 4 extra incarnate powers... YES of course we did. We also managed successsful Mothership raids in the RWZ, successful Hamidon Raids in the Hive or Abyss aling with successful Kahn TF , Baracudda SF, Lord Recluse SF and Lady Grey TFs. Since that is just about everything a 50 level can do.. besides the trials just what is it exactly that forces you to grind for the powers.

Its new, it looks exciting and you want it.. THAT is what. Well at the present time the only way to get it is by doing trials. When you get to the point where the constant repeat is getting to you DO SOMETHING ELSE
  9. I'm curious... If the new zone will allow Praetorian content to level 26 .. does that mean at level 25 Praetorian will finally be able to get an Ouroborus Portal and will they, will anyone, be able to do Praetorian Flashback missions.

I have a MM I started there and wound up with 4, of the 5, morality missions required for a badge. The badge tracker even stipulated these can be accomplished through flashback but at present there is no way to flashback to any Preatorian content.

Also on the same lines will Praetorian flashbacks be available to anyone. There are probably any number of players that would enjoy the chance to take their Blue side or Red side characters Gold side and run through story arcs.
  10. Unfortunately what you experienced is nothing all that new and yes it has been reported. Sadly to date the only fix has been a slash command:

    /release_pets

type that in and hit enter and all your pets will be dismissed and you can resummon. Now for the bad news.... You never know when this bug will occur and you can do mission after mission with no incident. Then you enter a new mission and move ahead to engage mobs and suddenly wonder... "Why am I taking so much damage and why aren't my minions destroying these things in front of me." If you are lucky you defeat the mob or get just as lucky and RUN to safety to discover all your pets are still at the entrance trapped by whatever invisible field now holds them.

Its a sore point for many of the Masterminds that after so long no attempt has been made to determine and solve the problem other than that lone slash command. Sure it allows you to get you pets moving again but it does nothing to set your mind at ease. You find you need to discipline yourself to check on your minions at the start of every mission to be sure they are following and ready to complete their assigned tasks. Something no other AT has to deal with... A Blaster never has to wonder will my attacks fire when I need them. A Controller doesn't need to test their buffs, debuffs and holds before every encounter.. Those minions make up the majority of your damage and can and do provide an MM with defenses and even healing during combat. They are POWERS just like any other but for some strange reason its perfectly fine to let a situation continue that forces us to leave them at the front door unless we are constantly watching.

Wish I had better news for you but at least now you know its nothing wrong with your computer, PC interface, or whatever... just one small portion of one AT that has been allowed to go unfixed for far too long.

    1. Create new badges for defeating (some of the) GMs multiple times. This doesn't really work with the Ghost Ship, and let's leave poor Sally alone, but is perfect for Jurasik or Kraken.
Going to go through these suggestion by suggestion. I like this idea but like you said lets confine it to just the GM {minus Sally}. Say one badge for 10 defeats and another for maybe 50.

    Quote:
    2. Create an achievement badge for defeating all of the GMs, and an accolade for defeating all of the GMs multiple times per the new badges. (Sorry if this already exists.)
It doesn't exist and I made a similar suggestion to this a while ago. Create an Accolade with a temp power attached and if its good enough players will clamor to find them.

    Quote:
    3. Reduce GM availability and/or link GM spawn to activity in a zone. If the GMs appear less often, then heroes who want to fight them will come running when they appear. If the GMs appear when there are at least X heroes in the zone, it will be more convenient for the heroes to stop and defeat the GMs.
Not really crazy about this idea. I see what your saying but they reduced spawn times a long time ago to aid badgers that were desperate to find a few of the more shy GMs. Kraken used to spawn so infrequently that when he did spawn he never stood a chance as 3 or more 8 man teams would arrive to battle him.

    Quote:
    4. When a hero has defeated a GM multiple times, award a temporary power (at the end of an arc or mission or by talking to a contact) that will allow the hero to solo against that GM. The temporary power should be medium to close range, should be about as effective as the fire extinguisher temp, and should disappear when the GM is defeated (and another badge awarded for soloing the GM). For example, Jack in Irons might be done in with a mystical tranquilizer dart, while Babbage might be vulnerable to nanobots or a rust ray.
This isn't a bad idea either .. something that lasts for 24 hours in game or whatever. and like the permanent temp power for thr proposed accolade it would boost the number of players loking to battle them

    Quote:
    5. Create new ways to fight GMs, which require the (first) badge to access. Create instanced missions where heroes can control a giant robot (or grow to giant size themselves) to fight GMs one on one, or where teams can fight GMs in new/destructible environments, or (at the end of an arc?) where everyone on a team controls a giant robot (or grows to giant size) and fights several monsters at once.
Sounds like fun but would have to let the Dev team deal with that. I keep hearing we can't have anything bigger than what we have now do to restrictions.

    Quote:
    6. Tweak the monsters so they do something new, unique, and fun. Give Lusca the power to throw a hero across the harbor. Let Jurasik stomp a hero into a hero-shaped depression in the ground. Make Pumpkin-Guy turn give a hero pumpkin head for ten minutes. Make it something that only happens to one hero per minute, and award a badge. Some players will start fighting GMs again just for the chance to see or experience the new GM power.
This actually sounds like fun. Now to add to it I agree with Bill one thing that would genuinely help increase the interest would be to increase the reward. 2 Reward merits is a joke and it becomes a really bad one when you battle 8 Lusca Tentacles and finally the head all for 2 lousy merits and one badge. I can do better taking out a Boss on an ITF [no not an EB a boss and the task force is full of them] Granted with 50(+1) powers including judgement tackling a GM is a lot simpler that in used to be but the rewards sucked back when it was an actul challenge.

No idea if they will ever do anything about it but I hope most of your suggestions find their way into the game.

Ahh very true thanks for the edit Roderick. Now let's clarify for anyone considering the OLD Posi TF..

Takes forever due to running you all over Paragon city as opposed to the 2 new shorter ones which take place mainly in Steel (Posi 1) and Faultline (Posi 2) [note I said MAINLY there are a few missions elsewhere]. You will spend more time zoning to Atlas Park, Perez Park, and even Skyway than being anywhere near Steel where Posi in located. Figured on a couple of hours easily since you have at least 4 defeat alls to deal with (including the final two missions) and a bunch of "Talk to: missions that keep you running from zone to zone.. Oh and a Patrol in Perez Park.

Has no AV at the end just a lot of bosses and a couple EBs to deal with.. which was an advantage years ago before they changed mob spawns since the thing could be run by a solo player after starting.

Does award a lot more more merits at 66 as opposed to Posi 1/2 which combined only awards 26 [11 for Posi 1 and 15 for Posi 2]. If you decide yo do it just be prepared to spend more time doing FEDEX style missions and running from zone to zone than actually fighting bad guys. Which was one of the reasons it wasn't very popular compared to the others and the main reason it was revamped.

Although.. Now you could simple use 5 Astrals from another Incarnate you own, IF YOU OWN ONE, and buy an open Alpha slot but that IF still makes it an unfair situation, A new player gets his first 50 and while others are opening powers left and right he can't get into the zone until he completes the ender arc. Not a horrible situation by any means but I can't see the Devs setting anything up that would grant access to one group and deny it to another.

They are Security Guards! ... one is asleep in the back because he has another job to go to in the morning and the other left the site to go get coffee for everyone. And to make sure you are aware the requirements for TF commander are:

Posi 1 and Posi 2 TF
    Synapse TF
    Sister Psyche TF
    Citadel TF
    Manticore TF
    and Numina TF

Nothing else is required so if you have done Moonfire's TF and Hess's TF in Striga or anything else besides those 7 .. no harm but they do not apply. Figured I'd add that since Numina is basically the final one if you have been doing them as you reach their respective levels so once you completed it you should have gotten the accolade. Enjoy

Snow I think THESE are the posts he was referring to not yours. Especially since they all seemed to be actually ANGRY at the OP like a brand new player, who may very well be experiencing his or her very first MMO and has no clue what is and isn't general knowledge for players with years of on line gaming experience know, SHOULD be intimately aware of everything involved with the game. Not saying this is necessarily the case but the OP does point out that he is new to the game and was on a trial account. Obviously he doesn't know all there is to know about COH/COV and it is possible he has no previous MMO experience at all.

Tyger.. in three posts you basically inferred that the OP is stupid, lacks common sense, and is a whinner. You swore at him indirectly twice and made it seem like his post is pure evil or pure stupidity. The COH community has always had a pretty good reputation for being friendly and open unlike many other MMOs that take great joy in making new players feel like N00bs. Is this really how we want to welcome a new player to the game. He asked a question and got an answer. I didn't see one additional comment from him where he continued to try and plead his case for being able to transfer from test to live. I have played COH for 5 and a half years now but it was my first MMO ever so when I first got here I had NO previous MMO experience and had to learn everything by ASKING questions. Fortunately I was invited to an SG with a very friendly group of players that helped me along and now I am the one helping others. Believe it or not ..everyone doesn't play 10 different on line games and we all haven't been doing it for over a decade or more.

Also, you can copy over multiples of the same character to the Training room server. If you could transfer them back, you could loot characters, strip them of enhancements, sell them, but still have the original.

Edit -> Yes! I beat Zombie Man!

Aett and Zombie have given you the straight answer. To further illustrate when 20.5 was in BETA they not only allowed us to instantly create a new character that could level from 1-50 but when you went to Ouroborus the Empyrean and Astral vendors were giving away free merits as fast as you could click. The idea was to allow the beta testers to test the system and try out/test all the new emotes/auras/costumes/etc. Now imagine a test character transferring to live with enough EMP and Astral merits to immediately unlock every emote, aura, costume and with enough left over to open every incarnate power and slot all your other characters with tier 4s in each without ever running a single trial. LOL Never going to happen .. you start characters on the live server not on test or beta. You can transfer from live to both of those to test new issues but it doesn't work the other way.
  20. it's happening everywhere I think. I am on Virtue and a few days ago I was on a league preparing to do a BAF. We were waiting on one player to zone and after a while the league asked if the individual was coming or not.... turned out not only was the player IN ZONE he was standing right next to the leader.

Did the Sutter TF and Kal SF on Friday with SG members and some PUG players we invited and had the same issue there. Player that were on mission maps but still showed as being outside somewhere and no green triangle on the mini map.

I have also seen it multiple time while duoing with a good friend. And it has occurred during tip missions, newspaper missons, on one mayhem mission we ran and mission from zone contacts. Now usually if my friend leaves the mission and returns it clears up but OBVIOUSLY that is not an option on a BAF trial unless you crash or log off and back on.

So you see its happening just about anywhere and on any kind of mission you can imagine and has been reported. I am sure they areworking to figure out why and on how to correct it. Until then we just have to cope with it.

Sense the new incarnate stuff has been out I've been trying to run the weekly strike Target once a day always on a different character. As well as doing some badge hunting for accolades and trials for the 4 new incarnate slots.

Now here's the issue. As more and more people have been realizing that they don't need shards anymore for their Alpha Slot there have been less and less people doing the weekly strike target. Last week there were actually times where I was trying to form a team for both Dr. Khan and Barracuda and one of the teams took me about 5 hours to form and the other never even happened. I got 1 person to show up and a bunch of people telling me "Why don't you just go into trials, threads are allot easier to get than shards."

There are only two trials and I'm already doing them way too much. I shouldn't have to run both trials more than once each per day just to get a slot unlocked and slotted. And I know there's a new trial coming out soon but one extra trial is not going to solve the problem.

Quite frankly the game is becoming repetitive and boring. When you start out the game there's a whole world of content that you can play and all of it will give you the same rewards that will help your character advance in the game... till you get to 50 then you have to do this very specific and limited content in order to advance in the game.

To be honest I felt like there was more content in the game for 50s before incarnate content existed. Sure we couldn't get XP and Inf was basically useless to us but we could do anything we wanted. There was nothing limiting our game play except our own desire to make the character stronger than it already was and that's why incarnate content was created, to give us a way to make our characters stronger.

But has incarnate content really added any new game play features. No, it has actually taken away from game play not added to it. I can't advance in the game without doing the same thing over and over again and it's getting really boring. Sunday this week I actually stopped playing the game. I've logged on, upgraded an incarnate ability with threads I already had and then logged off without playing. Because what am I going to do on the game? I'm going to run a bunch of trials or stand around forever begging people to join a TF team.

How about changing the content to one form of currency. There doesn't need to be Shards and Threads if everything can be done with threads. As I predicted months ago the value of Shards has gone down hill sense the introduction of Threads. So just get rid of them. And why do I need to do trials to get the damn things anyway? I'm bored out of my skull, make the rewards drop for all content so I can play the normal game like before I was 50 where I could do anything and still advance. Don't make game content that forces me into doing this or I can't get this. I don't like that. New content like the incarnate trials are only good when I'm not being forced to do them.

And yes it is forced. When you have it programmed so there's no other way to get the rewards than to do this one specific thing, that's force. You're using an incentive to get me to do something I might not normally do on my own. No you're no pointing a gun to my head and saying I have to do the incarnate trials or else, that's a different kind of force with a different motivator. And actually I'm allot more likely to do something I don't want to do if you reward me for it than if you punish me for not doing it so I'd probably just let you shoot me in the head rather than do the incarnate trials over and over again.

Eventually I'll run out of threads to just craft things and maybe I'll have a different outlook after a break from the game but damn stop with the "you have to do this to get this" tactics. I'm bored, right now staring at the little bumps in the ceiling seems like more fun than killing Marauder, Siege, and Nightstar for the 123,456,790th time.

I've been on this game for 7 years. Most of my friends stopped playing years ago because they felt it was getting too repetitive and I keep trying to convince them to start playing again every time new content gets added but this time around. I don't think I could convince anyone that the game isn't repetitive when I don't even believe it myself.

I almost want to just role a new character and ignore the incarnate stuff till there's more content to play with. I'm just bored with BAF/LAM runs. Keys will only be a temporary fix till I've done that one so much I'm bored with it. In a perfect world I'd have everything unlocked before I could get bored with the trials or there would of been more content to do before it was made public. The way I see it with as long as it takes to unlock everything there should already be at least 45 different incarnate trials. That way with a single character you can unlock a slot and get up to a t4 incarnate ability without the need to repeat a trial unless you really want to.

People have been begging for more level 50 content for years when they already had content they could do. My first 50 still has missions after 7 years that he hasn't finished and still won't finish because I'm too busy repeating these trials over and over. With so much content already in the game why limit me to these two trials? Why can't I just do my normal missions in Firebase Zulu and get Threads that way? I've still never seen the storm palace and probably never will the way this is going. X(

Then TAKE a break from it and do something else. I am not saying you don;t have a point. The reason we now have the Keyes Island Trial is even the Devs realized that the player base would be bored out of their minds if the only way to EVER get threads and component drops was the BAF and LAM. But even with a third trail it can still get very repetative very quickly.

Okay I have 36 characters on Virtue. 24 of those are 50 levels and of those I currently am running 9 or 10 through trials and making them incarnates.. more may come later but for now even that is a LOT. I also have 12 characters that are not 50 levels and I have already taken several weeks off from the grind and played my lower levels.

Personally while I enjoy the trials most of the time I feel that they eventually need to come up with Incarnate contacts that will allow people to solo or form 2-8 man teams and gain threads and components. Not everyone wants to do the trials (even once let alone hundreds of times) and some have computers that make it impossible. The Devs need to come up with a BETTER way than the lame one we have now for those people to obtain incarnate abilities. But as you mentioned there is no one holding a gfun to your head and saying you MUST run trials and you must run they every day and get all your powers a quickly as possible. When it gets tedious go play a 15 level for a day or so. Sanity will return and youo won't mind doing a trial or two now and then.

    Je_saist, wrong again.

I somehow doubt a deliberate interface message reading "TOO FEW PLAYERS TO CONTINUE" is a bug, Zombie. That seems just a teeny bit more than intentional.

Zombie does have a point but I tend to agree with you on this. If the message had simply been TRIAL FAILED there is a reasonable amount of doubt but when ypou consider that no other TF or Trial has ever done something like this for a BIG BOLD message to appear saying Trial Failed Not Enough League Members... Someone had to code that since last I checked we still haven't gotten to self aware computers that do whatever they feel like without human imput.

Or have we Hmm Arnold is no longer the Gov in California. could this be the start of Termanator Rise of the machines! LOL Naw much more likely someone on NC Soft staff needs a good smack in the head.

No getting a purple in Praetoria is impossible unless you want to count the trials incarnates are doing now as a visit to Cole's backyard. i was just using that as an example. I don't go crazy and insist on a TF I may be leading that we search out and defeat every last minion but solo and even when I team with my friends I like to clear maps. Who knows if that one mob I decide to skip so I can rush off to the next mission may not have a rare piece of salvage that would give my low level character a couple of million in Inf to use. And at level 5 xp is xp so why skip a mob when I have 45 more levels to go before i can start worrying about shards and threads and stop worrying about XP.

So... no. And no. And no.

Zombie has it 100% right. It's not even just the LRSF there are a number of story arcs red side that pit villains/rogues against BABs.. I just recently completed Crimson Revenant's arc on Nerva (30-34 level if you have the Hammer Down Badge for defeating the Ghost of Scrapyard). He also appears in a mission from Alan Desslock again between 30 -34 if you are a VEAT. Oh and don;t forget he is one of the 50 level signature heroes that appears in Recluse's Victory when a villain takes out enough pill boxes. THAT also means he is around in the future since that's where Recluse Victory takes place so it seems unlikely he dies defending Galaxy CITY in the present but is still battling evil in the future.

Heroes get to rescue him and have him as a pet in the Mendor Silos TF as well so right there you have 4 different missions and the summons in RV that would need to be altered if BABs died. Much more likely he'll do everything he can to save the neighborhood but in the end will be forced to retreat .. possibly even by Statesman yanking him out physically because "The city can't afford to lose you!"

Hmmm I can see it now State's running around for a week grumbling under his breath as the black eye BABs gives him SLOWLY heals. lol

Oh I couldn't agree more. And its also the laggiest portion of the entire trial as long as the ADD team pays attention to instructions and keeps the add population down. About the only time I have problems with disconnects on a BAF are when the prisoners are running. But its something they threw in to make us work for our merits.. much like the glowie portion of the Lambda.

Personally I dislike that part. Like most players my squishier toons die repeatedly trying to help out and when you are starting out and need IXP running past mob after mob without firng a shot while they try to kill you can get a little frustrating.. especially now with the rates so much lower.
