While that sounds good it realy doesn't help. I have been in favor of contacts that allow players to solo or make small teams for a while. These missions would drop threads and components at a slower rate than the trials , of course, but would allow players to gather what they need to open and enhance powers.
Just dropping a few threads here and there would take ages! Let's look at what is involved in opening and slotting a single power..
To open Judgement without doing trials and getting IXP you need to purchase the xp. It requires 30 threads and 30 million in influence.
To slot with a tier one requires three common components at a cost of 20 threads each .. total 60 threads
To slot to tier two requires two common (40 threads) and one uncommon (60 threads) component... Total cost 100 threads
To slot to tier 3 requires two more commons(40 threads) and a rare component. To craft a rare you need all four uncommon components (total cost 240 threads).
Now the same holds true for opening Interface but to open Destiny or Lore requires an additional 15 threads .. 45 total to buy the required IXP.
So just to open and slot one power to tier three requires a total of 470 threads and that is just the lower level powers NOT the ones that actually grant level shifts during trials. I have completed BAFs and had a total of 5 more threads than when i began. The drop rate for a 24 man league is NOT as fast as many think. What allows a player to slot faster is the Astral and Empyrean merit drops. On a standard BAF where we pull the AVs to the north wall and use chokes to contain prisoners .. I can leave with 6 astrals (5 if a prisoner escapes) and 1 Empyrean. That equals 44 threads.. 4 for each astral and 20 for the emp. On a basic Lambda I can leave with 3 or 4 astrals (depends on if we sync up once while gathering glowies) and an additional empyrean for another 36. Running two trials that took a total of perhaps 1 hour to complete.. I earned 80 threads by cashing in merits.. I may have earned an added 8 or 10 during the actual battle.
Now try to relate that to someone soloing and getting NO astral or empyrean merits and their drop rate is 1/24th of what I was getting doing trials. You can see it simply isn't a good option.. It could take a players months just to earn enough threads to open one power and then even longer just to slot it to tier one.
I think we may be seeing a solution with the new VIP signature arcs. When I completed one the other day I had as possible rewards the option to take an astral merit or 10 threads. Now knowing the values I took the threads.. an astral converts to 4 threads so why take 4 when i can get 10. LOL What they need to do is add more contacts with arcs and allow a random component drop as a reward for completing a mission and an astral or even an emp for completing the arc. Then players that don't enjoy the trials have a way to gain the powers of the incarnate. -
Now there's an idea .. while we are at it why bother with the nasty requirement to actually find some way, even if its sqaushing things repeatedly in AE, to avoid leveling and just let you buy your way to level 50 as well.
In one afternoon with your credit card in hand you could easily fill 36 or 48 slots on a server with 50 (+3) that had every power at tier 4.
{sarcasm fully and completely intended in the above paragraphs}
Is there any part of the game you do enjoy. ... if not then exactly why are you so willing to blow cold hard, REAL, cash to avoid playing it. Just go find a game you do like! -
Quote:You mention that your friend is a Premium player which to me means someone that was here before and has returned now that they can play without paying. Okay I am the first to admit its entirely possible that your friend had never visited the hollows before.. After radio missions hit and players could run to Kings Row grab a police band radio and run mission there the Hollow's popularity dropped rapidly.Today my premium new player friend contacted me to tell me she was stuck.
She had used the find contact option to TP into The Hollows, and as a hazard zone you have to click to exit you can't walk out.
I was able to tell her how to fix this very quickly, however new players are going to be stuck in a hazard zone if they don't think to try and click around.
But I still can't help but wonder why they had such a hard time at the gate. Yes it isn't clearly marked but anyone with any amount of game time knows if you move your cursor around enough eventually you find the right spot to click . Now as to the location you find yourself forced to click on to get out at times I agree.. needs to be corrected somehow. LOL I have never been crazy about clicking that cop's crotch to leave and I was a Taxibot back before Raptor packs. I spent a lot of time pulling shifts in the Hollows and tping folks to and from missions. I have had to LEAVE the Hollows a LOT!
Hope your friend enjoys being back abd doesnt run into too many situation like that in the future. -
personally I don't think the colors are that awful looking together .. my question is why bother. Umm unless I read things wrong only a VIP will be able to actually POST on the forums so why do I need a different colored name and a vip title.
In all honesty. lol until I read this thread to see what it was about I never even noticed the new "GOLD" names. So much for high profile -
Quote:COUGH COUGH .. no I see exactly what she means .. and if she has influence she cant think of anything better to do with than give it back to NC Soft .. I'll gladly take it off her hands. Now if someone actually came up with a way to donate to Real World charities trying to help REAL people that actually NEED help.. I'd gladly open my wallet.*cough cough* Wendy, once again, you're reading too much into things and taking things far beyond what the OP intends.
The OP would like to donate to the Rebuilding Galaxy City Foundation, or a similar concept with a different name. This is called an inf sink. It really is that simple.
.
Otherwise ... handing over INF without getting a thing for it, badge, salvage, ect, just seems slightly silly. If ithey want to create another inf sink and expect players to flock to use it...come up with an idea that makes sense. -
Quote:I NEEDED the Exploration Badges, and, the Plaque Badge Parts, that were in Galaxy City! WHO was the person, (and, I use that word lightly, at the moment, because I am Boiling Mad,) that thought that it would be FUN to keep players from getting the Exploration Badges, and, Plaque Badge Parts, that are ONLY available, IN Galaxy City?
Now.. calm yourself and take a deep breath. There isn't that better! As stated all you need to do is wait until level 14, they dropped the requirement to use Ouro portals down to 14 from 25 this issue, and you can either get someone to drop a portal for you or .. if you belong to a supoer group that had a Galaxy portal it will now take you to Echo Galaxy. Side note..If you belong to that SG and don't have an Ouro Portal use the teleporter and when you are done grabbing badges and plaques use the train station to leave and you can wind up in Ouroborus where you can grab the Exp badge and the right to use a portal!!!!
Now that we have you semi calm.. where have you been hiding the past few months...... It's been talked about here on the forum, advertised by NC Soft, and even talked about in game on globals. Why are you the ONLY player that didn't realize Galaxy City was scheduled to be invaded and destroyed. -
For me it will always be this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBwS6...eature=related
Years ago I took my MA/REG Scrapper to Creys Folly and joined a team battling Jurassik for the very first time and that was playing as we pounded on the GM. It stuck in my head as the perfect music to have going while I was engaged in combat with him and I drive DJs here in game crazy requesting it. LOL
[note .. with I play on Virtue I take absolutely no responsibility for the mental state of CAPE radio's DJ Shecky. he was crazy long before I met him hehehehe] -
Quote:I am sort of that same way but let's add one other option.. and I use this.I'm of two minds on this:
1) Having already bought everything else available, I have nothing else to do with the Astrals.
2) But what if they add more stuff to buy?
At one point I had so many I did an exeriment. Opened Alpha with 5 Astrals. Then purchased threads and converted threads to IXP opening Judgement, Lore, Interface and Destiny. Then used more threads to craft and slot all 5 powers to level 2. Before that character saw a single trial it had 5 new tier 2 powers to aid it as it battled Siege, Northstar and Maurader. She currently has Alpha at tier 4, and all the others at tier 3.
Then of course there is always
4) purchase thread vouchers so other characters can access them and improve their powers as well. I have done this too!
Of course I am also very much in favor of anything that adds to my Influence so the OPs idea to buy high selling rares and increase wealth is a good one. And if you don't have you build totally IO'd you can always buy them and get it IO'd making you even more powerful!
There is also option
5) we have 5 more powers coming at some point and even if they come out with yet another set of items we need for those (like the switch from shards to threads grrrrrr) They will probably have some conversion set up like Shards to Threads so hang on to them and have a head start on whatever you need for the other 5 powers!
Sadly option six doesn't seem to ever going to be a reality.. If ya can't think of anything to do with em.. Can I have them. LOL -
I'm still a little confused. I love the idea od donating to charity but how does giving INF translate into some non profit organization getting actual cash. Now I do frequent other on line sites where it is possible to make an actual cash donation to whatever charity is being collected for by accessing your credit card information of file.
Unless they turn that relief worker into a charity division of the on line store where NC Soft does have access to our credit card info.. handing her 1 billion in influence just means you are now out 1 billion in inf. You really didn't help anyone..
If they can find a way to make that donation actually help people, like the folks in Japan or ,, (older example) the folks in New Orleans after Katrina ,, I'd be happy to donate. -
Quote:I realise the battle on this was lost a long long time ago but ...
Inf is not money!
Not that I'm against a donation idea
The battle on this subject will probably never be over but even NC soft has all but given in on the idea that Influence, Infamy, and now Information are anything more, or less, than the games equivilent of cash. Back when GR was first announced there were posts here from self proclaimed experts that if a villain crossed over and became a rogue or .. heaven forbid!! .. a hero all the infamy they had accumulated would be useless on the blue side. The reasoning was, of course, Infamy was the villains reputation in the Rogue Isles not cash and since the venders in Paragon only awarded heroes who had agained influence through their good deeds.. a villain that leveled or wanted to purchase inspirations, etc.. had to return to the Isles to do so.
OBIOUSLY we now know that isn't the case. A Hero can go vigilante, travel to the Rogue Isles and as soon as he or she steps through the door and out into Cap Au Diable or whichever zone they arrive in... every CENT of their influence has been magically converted to infamy. When a Praetorian reached level 20, now I suppose level 25, and decided to come to Primal earth as soon as they step off the portal their information has been converted to influence or Infamy depending on which side they picked. Sort of like going to the bank before you travel abroad and converting your CASH into the currency of the country you will be visiting.
Even the desciption you get on influence by accessing help on line reads like this....
Quote:Influence is the commodity of heroes. The more a hero does in Paragon City, the more “pull” he's got with various people and organizations. Heroes may spend Influence as if it were currency. Influence is tradable and can be lost due to Defeat or Task failure. Influence can be used to purchase Inspirations and Enhancements from Contacts or Stores.
Now with that flame war started on to the OPs suggestion. I like it.. maybe we could get a badge called Social Worker. My question is if we could donate influence to the relief worker.. aside from a small form of inf sink .. where would it go and how would it be used. Here's an idea..
Depending on the size of the donation the relief worker awards those for their generocity with an inspiration of their choice. Keeping it at the set prices..
a 50 INF donation awards one tier 1 inspiartion of your choice
No idea on the prices for other tiers since they are acquired through drops and the only place to BUY them is at the market but lets say
100 INF gets you a tier 2
250 or 500 earns you a tier 3
prices may vary but that was just to put SOME figure next to each. I'd avoid going higher since the Super Inspirations awarded during Itrials are AWARDED DURING I Trials or purchased only in Ouroborus using merits.. in short they are only available to 50 levels. And the new dual and team inspirations are awarded through gaining levels in the rewards program.
Basically we are making the relief working into a sort of inspiration vender but the inspiration is like the flower or button you get for your donation to a worth cause. -
For me it's my Ill/Emp and she made it to 50 level. At the time I created her she was a blast to play... TFs loved having her along to stealth/tp, she could solo easily and did so all the way to 50 and when the AT was still popular finding a team was as easy as logging on. Now however she just doesn't seem to have that many good attack .. compared to my Plant/Rad .. and with incarnated TANKS running around with the ability to heal 750 points of damage or BUFF an entire league she just seems to be along for the ride. I now have 17 characters in the incarnate system and she is the only one that has yet to get more than one level shift. I have so much fun playing the others I just can't bring myself to play her anymore.
-
Yeah I had that same thing a day or so ago.. I haven't checked back I wonder if he's still there! I figure its just a bug and will be fixed. I was tempted to run it again just to see how badly I could beat on Trapdoor as a 50 (+1) with all 5 incarnate powers at tier 4. LOL
-
Quote:I prefer the RWZ for that reason as well. In addition, depending on the alignment of your character, its not that difficult to get to the market between trials. Villains, Rogues and Vigilantes can pop out to Cap Au Diable and quickly buy, sell and run back.. Heroes can either head out to Atlas Park or to FF for a quick train ride to Talos.I always preferred the RWZ because it has a crafting table, vendor, & tailor to use while between trials.
It always kinda amused me that of the servers I'm on, the only one that *didn't* use Pocket D as standard was Virtue.
In one spot you can buy inspirations, sell enhancements, craft IOs, alter your costume and quickly get to a portal to visit your base. Pocket D is okay and does offer some of that but no other coop area has quite as much in one small spot! These days my incarnates pretty much just live in the RWZ and I can quickly and easily alt and rejoin a league. And yes i play on virtue lol -
If that is the way they are tracking it.. then change it. We have other things that are applied account wide.. like anything we purchase from the stores in Ouroborus with our spare Astral or Empyrean merits so obviously the technology exists.
I am NOT saying its a horrible cut scene but when you are trying to open up your Judgement and Lore slots on a "new" character you probably run that same mission 8 to 10 times.. and YES folks I realize you ca BUT Incarnate XP with threads. you can also run missions and save the threads and the millions in influence by actually running missions and guess what.. by the time you open the slot you probably have enough salvage and threads to throw a tier 3 into it. I have used both methods.
But considering the comments every time we have to watch it again I'd take an semi eductaed guess and say for every person sitting at their computer "ENJOYING" watching it again for the 9th or 10th time in the same day .. there are 20, 30 or more rolling their eyes and wishing it would end so they can get on with the battle. -
I have a running QoL post here and mentioned this in passing a while ago but as I work on my 17th Incarnate and find myself running my ____ BAF trial I think its time this had a thread all its own....
PLEASE .. make the ability to avoid the cut scene on the BAF a global not per character fix. Yes.. its the first time MZ Luberty (not an actual character) is doing the BAF but I have 16 other characters that have already done the same trial and at this point I have probably seen that thing over 200 times or more. At this point I think I can safely say I GET the idea for why we are doing it.
I realize there will still be new players hitting 50 for the first time and running the trials with us and I have no problem watching it with them.. ONCE. But I know there are hundreds, thousands, of players just like me that have multiple characters doing trials and making us watch the same thing over and over and over for no better reason than..
"That character hasn't seen it before!" is close to being torture! Yeah the character hasn't seen the scene before but the person at the KEYBOARD controlling it has and I figure I probably lost a couple hours of actual game play time watching that thing again and again.
Not sure how hard it would be to do but it doesn't seem that big a deal. Simply change the criteria for skipping to global for an account and then if a player wants to have 100 incarnates he only triggers the cut scene once. -
I tried the hero tutorial on beta and I don't just mean that tiny little stretch of time in what used to be Galaxy City. Now I am not going to say the new tutorial is perfect, every can always be improved, but compared to what we used to get the new one definately teaches new players more. If you keep doing arcs up to and through Trickshots you are shown how to do quite a bit including how to read andr use your mini map.
Now in all honesty.. do I want to run arcs that include missions that a Rsk me to find the tram station and take a ride on the train to Kings Row.. No but thats why will I be using the new sewer trials to quickly level any new character, get them some very nice buffs, and head off to other zones.
To a seasoned vet is it boring.. Of course it is some of us have been around for 6, 7 even going on 8 years.. any arc that says.. Look we have a hospital! is going to put us to sleep. But to a brand new player that doesn't have a clue... It gives them some basics they need to survive.. or have we all forgotten the AE babies that made level 50 in 2 hours but couldn't find their way across Atlas to the train station... I don't I can still remember the leader of a Manticore TF I was on finally just kicking the player who couldn't find Brickstown with 7 other players trying to help him. The conversation went something like this..
Just get on the train and when the menu comes up click brickstown.
Where is the train
Look on your mini map and your see a crircle with a T in it head for that
What is a mini map
And I AM NOT JOKING he was THAT bad!
The new stuff could use some work but it hands out more info than I got when I first started over 5 years ago. -
Hey Sam I agree with you.. I did the hero side tutorial on Beta and was very impressed. A long time ago you, me and others made it clear we felt the old tutorial was lacking and they needed to improve. To my amazement they did just what we asked. Heck the thing even gives a sgort course in map reading as you try to locate various buildings on your mini map.
Then on live I created a new villain and decided to see how the villain side stuff compared. About the only thing I can compliment them on is for the first time in going on 6 years I didn't get SICK of fighting nothing but snakes, snakes and more snakes on Mercy. Actually battling Longbow and the RI Police seemed perfect for a brand new villain eager to make a name for herself. And Then i was introduced to Doc Graves. The story line is no where near as interesting as the hero side and the whole "competition" thing just seemed a bit boring. Thankfully, in my case, I really don't need a tutorial so my villains will simply be running sewer trials for the buffs and potential new low level SO enhancers it awards. -
Quote:I agree with Adeon. I started out playing Empaths and always took my attack and slotted them...I disagree, the quote I like (from another similar thread on the topis) is:
"If you can't take out a couple of minions without help you aren't a support character, you're a character that needs support"
At the end of the day what really matters is damage, everything else is just making that damage slightly better. Consider it this way, a Defender deals half the damage of a Blaster. A good Defender can use their support powers and attack. That means if you aren't attacking you should be increasing the team's damage output by half a Blaster's damage more than the attacking and buffing Defender. Pool powers just do not do that. The only pool power that provides a damage boost is Assault and most Defenders take that anyway.
If you don't blast you are short-changing your team and making them work harder to compensate for you. That's my definition of a gimped character. I don't care which Blast set you choose (I am personally partial to Assault Rifle) but whichever you pick, please USE it.
1. If you have minion or two in your face and no attacks to defend yourself you can't heal or buff anyone if you are dead
2. The argument that your damage sucks .. always compares it to what a Blaster get out of that same set. Sure they do more .. its what they are designed for but they also have the lowest defenses and hit points in game which is why they need support to begin with. Any damage beats NO damage at all and the way I always looked at it was if all the enemy mobs are dead... then no one needs a heal anymore. Preventative Medicine at its best!
3. When you get to higher levels heals are not as big a factor as buffs and you don't have nearly as many as some others.. Having that damage from your attacks still makes you an active team member.. not just someone along to hit players with fort and cm every so often. Now despite what some may say the need for healing never vanishes completely.. Ask a Tank or Scapper that has to stand in close to Recluse, Reichmann, or any of the other nasty AVs above level 40 or so. Ask anyone that has done the Keys island Incarnate trial. But having the ability to do damage in addition to that makes you that much better!
have fun, play the way you like, and enjoy the game -
Quote:Remember that Freedom and Virtue, despite being the most populous servers, are not necessarily the "best" servers to play on for you. If you play at odd times or like doing different things (i.e. Not AE farming or RPing respectively) then you may find other servers are better suited to you.
Okay I don't play at all on Freedom so I have no clue what happens there but making a general statement that sounds like all that anyone of Virtue does is stand around role playing is very misleading.
You play at odd times.. what's odd to you because I am sometimes on at 3 AM (est) and can still find trials running in the RWZ and TFs forming on globals. And no I am not specifically talking about weekend.. I have found Lambdas to join at 2:30 in the morning on a Tuesday. The server has not one but two looking for TF channels (first filled to capacity so they created a second), a basic LFG channel for any sort of team and several general chat channels that people use when looking for a team as well.
You like events.. Mothership raids occur on a schedule here every Monday and Friday. Hamidon raids take place on weekends.. Blue side on Saturdays and Red side on Sunday. COP trials are not scheduled but there are several SGs that enjoy hosting and you can usually find one happening every weekend if you belong to the globals and happen to be on when they announce. lets see what else.. Cape Radio has numerous parties running if you enjoy listening to good music and hanging out after a hard day of pounding bad guys, or robbing banks, and once a month they hold a special Mothership raid hosted by the DJ who is also attacking the Rikti ship at the same time.
No I can't promise you won't go to the RWZ, Cimerora, or just about any place and there won't be a chance of running into rper but here on Virtue we PLAY the game and anyone that thinks all we do is stand around and emote is misinformed.
Have fun which ever server you decide on and welcome back -
Not really building anything new but over the past week I have been preparing a few older characters that, for lack of space, I had to leave behind when I moved to Virtue from Infinity. My very first purchase will be added character slots allowing me an addition 12 so I have been visiting Virtue so the returning toons will be ready.
1. All 3 I plan to move were given a respec to add the inherant fitness pool and revise builds accordingly.
2. Because I decided to turn her into a hero I spent several days doing alignment missions so my namesake Mastermind, Wicked Wendy, can arrive on Virtue as a hero... Yes sadly I left Wendy behind on Infinity when I moved but now she can return and FINALLY make level 50.. she's at 45 ATM.
3. Used the email system to send all three influence, recipes, salvage and enhancements so they can arrive io'd and ready to play. Hey I moved to Virtue a long time ago.. some characters on Infinity don't even know what an IO is yet . lol
So that's about as close as I come to actually BUILDING a character on one server to transfer to another. I will be making a few new characters but I plan to use the new powersets and start them on Virtue after the download and server maintenance is completed. -
Quote:Far from true. Most GMs are easily doable by 3-4 upper-level characters. Some GMs are easier (Kraken, Ghost of Scrapyard), some harder (Lusca, U'kon Gr'ai), and some more frustrating to fight (Caleb, Arachnos Helicopter), but you rarely *need* a full team.
very true.. anyone that knows me knows I enjoy fighting GMs.. team can range from 3,4 or even a couple teams depending on who all is available and wants the badge!
Lets see
Took down Babbage in Boomtown .. 4 man team (3 contollers and one Tank)
Took down Adamaster in Dark Astoria .. 4 man team (2 defenders, 1 controller and one warshade [in Dwarf mode serving as the tank])
Took down Kraken in Perez Park .. 5 man team (2 blasters, 1 defender, one scrapper and one tank) .. Oh and while we were battling him a zombie invasion broke out and we wound up getting those badges too.
Lusca can be a pain but these days one good team can handle her easily.. years ago, before IOs and purpled out builds, most people wouldn;t get near that giant squid with less than 2 teams and even then it could get nasty.. I left one failed attempt with over 100,000 debt on a 20 level character ...this was before patrol xp could wipe that out over night . It took almost an entire level to get rid of that.
There are players out there that have spent billions on their build and they can and do attack and defeat GMs with ease.. But to me the fun has always been in assembling a team to defeat one. -
Quote:Slots always make me happy and that period in the 30s is where you can really make you character begin to shine. So, the way I approach the game...
there are two types of levels:
The first are Power Levels. Whenever I get a new power, I'm excited and happy. I can do a new thing! Yay! I love this feeling.
The second are Slot Levels. Whenever I get to one of these, I'm not so excited. I mean slots are nifty and all - and yay, I can improve my new things. But in the end, I'm nourishing a sense of disappointment, because I don't have a new thing to do.
so... once 32 happens, I start looking at that vast wasteland of levels that will only give me slots, before I can get another power, at 35.
And since levelling seems REALLY slow above 30, I just get dejected.
By now, I have a few 32s, one 35, one 38, and thanks to the encouragement of some friends, a 50.
But that long wasteland between 32 and 35, and 35 and 38... (and further into the 40s)
How do you guys handle it? Do slots make you happy?
Sure a new power is great but when you get it you have exactly 1 slot for enhancing. Its the odd levels between 2-32 where you can actually make each new power start to shine by adding enhancements so it becomes more powerful. Then once you get that power at 32 and have no new power until 35 plus your now getting 3 slots per level not 2 you can start really padding powers to make then stronger, more accurate, recharge quicker or use less end.. etc, etc.
I understand that doesn't seem as much fun as getting a bright new shiny power but after taking a power at 32 I have six of the next 8 slot ( for a total of 18 enhancements) to tweek my build and make it better before hitting level 41 and starting to pick my epic/patron powers. Now this became a bit more important, to me anyway, when Stamina became an inherant power.. before that I'd waste power picks early on to get stamina by 20 level.. now I have stamina at level 2 with no picks wasted so I have more powers with less slots devoted to each so those slots in the 30s are the time when I can seriously improve my attacks or buffs/debuffs .. or whatever and make a character really shine. -
Quote:ahhhhhh Shecky is after me! /e runs very slow and giggles.Oh, I got out of my straight Jacket a while ago. And Yes Posty does a monthly Mothership Raid on the first Sunday of the month (usually). www.thecaperadio.com for more info on The Cape.
Now then... *Chases Wendy*
I did mention the fact that we are are crazy. I know I did
Reason Number B ... Virtue is the only server where you can do missions and get the special Monty Python and the Holy Grail Holy Hand Grenade Power. I have three.. now if I can just find Brother Antioch with the instructions from the Book of Armaments. LONG LONG PAUSE .. okay the servers have been down far too long I am getting goofy. ZWILLIGER FIX STUFF.. I need to get my warshade's last incarnate power to tier 3 . -
Welcome to Virtue.. you don't need to be crazy to play here but it helps! LOL
Okay lets get started convincing you...
If you enjoy ITrials they run constantly.. I am from the east coast (USA) but have some strange play hours.. at 3AM My time.. (if my math is right that's 9 AM where you are) I have found teams in the RWZ still forming lambdas and BAFs. At Noon my time (around 6 PM at your local) I can find a league. They run day and night so no problem there.
You enjoy events.. MOTHERSHIP raids occur here on a schedule .. every Friday evening and every Monday evening. And those are just the normal ones .. not the impromptu.. "hey let's attack the mother ship" raids. We have Hami raids that occur every weekend.. usually Blue side on Saturday and Red side on Sundays. While there is no set schedule we do have a number of Super Groups that host Cathedral of Pain trials.. watch the globals for the announcement and just show up to join.
Role play occurs almost everywhere here.. primary spot is Pocket D but you can find people rping just about any place any time and, of course, we are known as the "unofficial RP" server so its easy to find SGs that have ongoing rp.
Task Forces seem to be something you enjoy.. On weekends especially you can watch the globals and find a diverse list of them spawning even while the ITrials, Mothership raids, etc are happening. There always seems to be someone looking for a particular badge and as soon as the announce they are starting a TF seven more players alt to the character they want that on and .. poof it's off and running.
The people here are friendly and helpful.. Okay I won't lie to you and say you'll never encounter a jerk here. They are everywhere on every server I am sure but the majority of the server is friendly and helpful. We don't have ONE global channel to check for thing we have TONS...
Virtue LFG Beta .. primarily a channel for any type of teaming, including PUGS, but also a place to advertise ITrials and events.
Virtue TFs 2010 and Virtue TFs .. sister channels, the 2nd formed when #1 filled, that both advertise all things Task Force from Posi one to the Keyes Island Trial and everything in between.
Virtuebadges09 .. Umm the badge channel but we all tend to advertise Trials and TFs here as well since.. WELL they all award badges
Virtue Forever United .. a general chat channel that people use to do everything from advertise tfs, trials, and events to just chat about anything and everything.
Radio Virtue .. not affiliate with Cape radio this is a serious, LOL, chat channel and you will find the conversation ranges from what powers do to what was on TELEVISION last night. oh and from time to time they actually decide to form teams and play as well.
Now let's add in the Cape .. mainly because the last thing anyone needs is DJ Shecky getting out of his straight jacket and coming after you because you didn't mention it.Cape radio hosts parties constantly and while many originate in Pocket D they have no problem taking the show on the road to the Arena (to host a Golden Era costume contest) or Port Oakes ( for a Fashion show and costume contest put on by Rogue magazine). They even sponsor events.. DJ Postehaste has done a show while running a series of Rikti Mothership raids! The music varies from DJ to DJ but its always a lot of fun and the commercials (fake) between sets are very funny.
Let's see did I miss anything... Oh yeah we are one of the most populated servers and despite rumors we do actually PLAY the game and play it very well.
Sorry to say that PvP isn't very popular around here these days but if you hit the right time of day you can find players there.. its just not a big priority here.
Anyway That's me adding my part to sway you. Hope we see you on server soon -
Quote:This power disappearance has happened to me twice over the last month, once on a trial, and for the other time I don't recall the team/mission setup. In both cases, I used /netgraph and noticed a large red spike at the moment the powers disappeared. When I was on the trial, the powers did come back after a short time. In the other case, I zoned and the problem was resolved.
In another possibly related case, I was on a Lambda trial about 3 days ago, and my league and team windows lost all their contents, displaying only the large quit button. League and team member names also changed to the colors I'd expect if I had left my team/league. I continued to play as if nothing had happened; no one else seemed to notice or have this problem. After a few minutes, the window appeared normal again and the character names returned to the correct teammate/leaguemate coloring. Netgraph showed a red spike at the start of this issue as well.
Yeah I have seen that happen quite a few times on various trials and its usually when lag starts to spike. It always seems to clear itself up after a short period of time and I don't ever recall losing the ability to communicate with league members.. and I always continue to get IXP, INF, ECT. It's annoying and to a first timer would make them think they'd somehow been kicked and were on their own but it doesn't cost a player any rewards.. still needs to be corrected no way that is Working As Intended. LOL
