Not quite nothing. Years of paying taxes out the nose has pre-paid medical expenses for you.

But yeah, your friend's situation is like many folks down here. An endless cycle of referrals, passing the buck, and not wanting to get sued, and meanwhile the ones who need help are still sitting in the waiting room.

As much as stuff costs for healthcare, however, I'd still rather pay after the fact than before. I don't like paying for something up front that I might never get to use. But maybe that's the "living from paycheck to paycheck" person in me that can find better uses of my money than to spend it on health insurance...like gas money.

GP, you should plan on doing something like going out to a fancy restaurant, or walking around a mall or something. IF you tempt fate enough, the baby will decide to ruin your plans and make its appearance when it's most inconvenient.

How is taking advantage of a free form of advertising a waste of time? This is a no-lose situation for them. If nothing is gained, they spent only the time it took to set up the page, and life goes on. If there is a buzz created, however small it might be, they win.

I would rather they try something different than do nothing, which is pretty much what has happened up until the last year. Especially if it doesn't cost them anything.

Maybe he knows all too well...magnets don't discriminate what they attract.

This is exactly what occurs to the average dad of a teenage daughter, and exactly why they do what they can to preserve their daughter's integrity as long as possible. They won't stop it completely, but hopefully they drive off most of the losers.

That's why the dad should take the guy on a hunting trip. If the kid doesn't have the cajones to go, he doesn't deserve to date the daughter. If he does, then he'll get a first-hand look at how the father knows his way around a weapon, and how good a shot he can be. You don't need to instill the fear that you WILL shoot him, just that you CAN.

I doubt very seriously they would give out free tokens so people could move toons during this period. They are taking every reasonable step they can to accomodate the player base. They raised the server cap and issued warnings that your server "may" get capped. Just keep trying to log in, you sould get in within a few minutes. If it helps, think of it as a sale with no rainchecks

Why does knowing the exact number the cap is set at matter? I've seen people ask for this before, and it still boggles my mind. You'll never know the exact number of people that are on at a given time, because there will always be more that are hidden.

I hope folks on Freedom and Virtue learned their lesson from the last time, and have alternative plans (other servers to play on) in place, just in case. I can imagine how the "OMGICAN'TLOGINWHYDOTHEDEVSHATEUS?!?!1111!" threads will go this time.

When they give costume tokens, its one for each costume slot you have unlocked, per character. That's why some folks have 40+ tokens, without counting their vet tokens.

New Features patch ---> fix bugs from that patch with a new patch -----> repeat for each patch ad nauseum.

This is SOP for every MMO that ever was, or ever will be. If you were expecting it to be like a regular PC game (and even those have several patches, usually) you got off at the wrong stop.

Issue 12 is not as broken as the DOOOM-criers want you to believe. Minor annoyances, mostly. No different than any other issue they've put out, and probably better than a few of them.

Not true. It's only scheduled for Mondays and Fridays. Any other day there's maintenance, its for a patch, or for a problem.

P_P, you might be better off petitioning for a personal global change than asking for it for everyone. Outside of a major global name crash, I don't think the devs are gonna want to hand out yet another free change to everyone.

I have a question about one of the new chat channels that we can add to our windows. Does anyone know exactly what CaptionEventFilter does? Every time I ask in-game, people respond that its the Giant Monster alert channel, but the Hero/Villain event channel does that. Is it a redundant channel, or have I not seen what it does?

I haven't found a way to get back to Steel from the club other than using my pocket d teleporter, or dying and going to the base and using a teleporter in the base.

Synapse is that way because he hates what he is. He never wanted to be anything but normal. And really, most Science-based powers are the result of either an accident, or manipulation. People were normal, and now their not, and can never go back. Wouldn't you be bitter if you were experimented on against your will? The other origins were either born with powers, born with none at all and still have none but just work extra hard, or a conscious choice was made to augment what was already there, but weak, or uncontrolled. Science rarely gets a choice.

If you haven't read it, go find the CoH book Freedom Phalanx (the second of the two books). It gives a pretty good view on Synapse (and Posi and Sister Psyche).
