I think anything in that general direction does the trick.
But im a great southern cook with a extra flair for baking and it hasn't done me a bit of good.

How's your Chicken Fried Steak? mmmmmm....hard to get a good one up here in Memphis. -

I have sooo missed that freaky avatar..

Speaking of freaky avatars....O.o -
I play both sides. Do you? I'm well aware of the badge requirements for villains. I still say they doth protest too much, especially considering how much of a ghostland the average pvp zone outside of RV is these days.

I played Sibling Rivalry today. Sister's mailbox is full, so I'll post what I was going to say here. It was a very fun arc. Great story, and I like how the Disco Trolls came out. Very good costumes. I solo'd it with my blaster, and it wasn't too hard, nor too easy.
Hope to see another story from the mind of Sister Flame -

My main concern on this has been how devs have screwed villains on this. Villains have no way to go back to get mayhem badges for the accolade.
[/ QUOTE ]
No way to go back and get badges...except to ask around for a lower character that has it to help...just like a hero has to do.
"Screwed" is too strong a word here, EvilRyu. Inconvenienced, maybe a bit more than heroes because of the lower pop, but not screwed. -

Where I come from, men and women say what they mean to each other. It is much less complicated that way.

The land of make-believe, perhaps. Or maybe the land In Theory. In practice, it doesn't quite go like that, most times. -

I honestly have no idea how they got the powersets done as quickly as they did as well as they did.

I think the quote says it all.

Get tired of carrying that grudge yet? -

Not enough money.
And, provide a list of the purples you have that will be in this random selection.
Picking one Fortunata Hypnosis from a stockpile of sixteen isn't all that enticing.

Going to have to retract my offer for this. Had some friends call me asking to go out with them.

Wait a minute...this is a superhero/villain MMO. You can't possibly have any friends in RL. Didn't you read the fine print in the EULA? -

The irony in all this is that hes still getting to people, and people are feeding into it, further perpetuating his observations.

I think at this point the only ones still stirred up by it are the ones offended by his "scientific method" and presenting his findings in a less-than-truthful manner. People got over his actual in-game antics long ago. -

Wow. Some of you people sound like you're jaded beyond enjoying the game anymore. Myself, I've only been playing since January, and I can't wait to see this. I get all excited when the sky turns red or green...
[/ QUOTE ]
Me too! Sky turning eerie and then crowds of players pumping up to take them down the min they arrive... I love it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, but wait until its there are a few more, then a few more, and then another is announced.
A few more will be posting that it gets tiring to have the same "special event" happen over and over again.
[/ QUOTE ]
Quick, without looking it up, can anyone name the last time we had an Invasion event? These things don't happen very often, and even during the event, as someone else pointed out, you'll only see the invasion once every three hours, unless you change zones alot and catch more, or hang out in a zone that doesn't have them and don't see any at all.
At least the badges you get from the Rikti Invasion give you something halfway useful. -
good to see it's just a weekend now, and not a full week.

Granted, during a TF/SF things are not always so easy to reproduce considering the actions of others, and the pace of activity. But the more info included in a bug, and more importantly, steps to reproduce are extremely helpful when trying to get someone else to recreate the same issue.
[/ QUOTE ]
This. Every time the issue of "Are the Devs even reading the forums?" or "Is it worth /bugging?" one of the rednames comes into the conversation and asks us in no-uncertain terms to please give as much information as you possibly can about what you see, so that the bug can be tracked down (if it is even a bug at all, and not just some sort of sync issue). They've even provided us with templates with which to convey said information, because people kept asking what information the Devs wanted when we posted about these bugs.
If you're not being as helpful as you can be (giving detailed information, possibly trying to recreate the bug yourself and documenting what happened each time), don't expect your bug reports to go very far, even if they're posted on these boards. They'll start with the ones that are either gamebreaking or easily reproducable, and the bug will only fall under catagory two if they have the necessary info. -
I don't think Castle, nor the other Devs, would be doing their jobs to the fullest of their abilities if they didn't keep track of threads and topics that pertain to their areas of the game. For one, we don't need our requests or gripes filtered through a representative. Things get lost in the translations, and neither side wins. There is also a lot of dead time, as projects that need to be dealt with by several departments get passed around, so it's not unreasonable for Castle, et al, to be on the forums during normal working hours, killing a few min while they wait for someone else to do their job.
Thanks for choosing to spend your downtime with us, Devs. The vast majority of us appreciate it, though some have a hard time admitting to it. -
I just have to LOL @ the name Team Butter.

Had he limited himself to actually physically attacking player himself he would have received completely different results as well. for one he would not be very successful. Additionally since he was putting himself at risk he wouldn't have generated the anger he provoked.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. If his goal was to "win the zone for the heroes," he could just as easily have picked the "I'll actually go up to a villain and attempt to defeat him head on, or with my team (before he was a paraiah)" and gained some respect, and maybe some help in his quest. Instead he chose the low road. He could have rolled up another character that played it straight and compared his experiences (which he probably should have done, to make his research more valid), but he didn't. Instead, he chose to pvp the players behind the characters, as well as the computer-generated pixels in front of him. -
Reading the comments to iltat's response, Mr Myers has the whole mechanic behind RV wrong. He keeps repeating that you have to "Kill Villians= Win the Zone". I could go into RV right now and not touch a single person and still win the zone. Taking pillboxes is the only way. Now it might be that in order to take said pillboxes, you might have to dispatch of some opposing forces, but that's just a speedbump in the real primary objective, if that was his true objective all along.
If he really wants to be taken halfway seriously, the facts need to line up. His don't. What he wanted to do was grief, and see the consequences. He played the game long enough to figure out what griefing might mean to others, and then proceeded to play within those "guidelines." Mission accomplished, sir. You learned how best to be ostracized in this game, and then proceeded to do it, on three different servers, no less. GG -
That, and by crafting the commons, you earn the badjez that get you extra salvage and recipe slots. Start with the 35's.

Happy Birthday, blue boy. I hear that Cakemaster has spawned in Atlas Park. If you take him down you get the Spank Machine badge.

I've been watching the History channel all day. It's a series on the Revolutionary War. Very cool stuff, for you history buffs.

If it's a villain dropship party, you can go to Grandville at any time and buy raptor packs, so it's even easier...now if we could only get the numbers.
-
Here's an example situation:
I was in DA today going around killing masks, because I just happened to be there doing a mission and I always spend a few min in there looking for masks if I have time (never in the zone at the appropriate level for actually farming drops). During my rounds I saw Adamastor, so I called for help. Cobalt was the first to respond (which he usually is). Why does he come to help? He doesn't need the badge, he doesn't really need just two merits, more than likely, so maybe it's to help out other players get their rewards. I've never seen him come kill a GM and not congratulate everyone else on their new shiny badge if they just earned it. If the reward is so small, or non-existant, can it really be considered farming? To me, and probably to Cobalt, it's about helping other players get what they need.
Farming, to me, and to some others, is all about what 'I' need. 'I' invite more people to join me because it will bump up the mob numbers and get more bosses, etc. I'm doing it because 'I' need the inf, or the drops, or the tickets, and I can't just wait to get those things by doing arcs with a team. If anyone else gets stuff because they happen to be tagging along, that's a bonus for them, but doesn't affect me.
YMMV. As other's have stated: I try not to care what others do, unless it's affecting me. Farming doesn't affect me unless I choose to let it. Most of the time, it doesn't.
