[/ QUOTE ]
If you're not being an ebil marketeer, you're just wasting slots anyway. -
If I'm back in time, I'll join that Pingu team....put me on reserve, though.

So, I just realized my name is in the study. [censored] fantastic.

We wrote it up as a full proposal for the next round of proliferation, since all the work had already been done...and, here we are.
[/ QUOTE ]
Dark Manipulation for Blasters. Someone should write up a full proposal. All the other work is already done.
Put it in for I16; Dark Blast can come later once its issues have been resolved.
1) Gravimetric Snare (it needs a name change)
2) Shadow Punch
3) Smite
4) Soul Drain
5) Dark Consumption
6) Shadow Maul
7) Midnight Grasp
8) Cloak of Darkness
9) Fearsome Stare

An awful lot of melee-ranged powers for a blast set. -

Will I be able to finally take the yellow out of Hasten?
[/ QUOTE ]
Didn't see mention of any pool powers being included in the customizing, but I only read through the announcement once so far. Looks like it's just primary/secondary so far. -
[ QUOTE ]
Nothing about it really interests me that much. More zones, more content and more new powersets would, but such is life.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why would they put work putting all that in this Issue, when we know that all of the above is going into the Expansion? -
QR-
Why are we wanting to make an easy process more complicated? There are global channels for anything and everything that work way better and faster than any menu feature the devs could come up with. All you have to do is ask. -

As long as this lets me solo TFs as well, I'll be more than happy.

*Sets self for Team Size 8 with seven others, clogs up The Hive*
(Not gonna happen but...)
[/ QUOTE ]
You joked, but that might potentially be an issue. Does this new feature only apply to missions themselves, or if we set ourselves to be seen as a team of 4, let's say, does our character count as 4 people in the zone itself? Imagine the nerdrage if you could kill a Hami Raid just by having a couple of people set as a team of 8 get in the zone and camp. -

I feel like Praetoria will be the only mixing zone for existing toons.
[/ QUOTE ]
While I won't comment on the mechanics, I assure you that existing characters will be able to "Go Rogue". I fully plan on running opposite faction content on my existing characters.
[/ QUOTE ]
Can we force everyone that still isn't convinced that GR will allow sideswitching to put this in their own siggy, so they can be reminded how wrong they are? -
[ QUOTE ]
Do we know yet when Going Rogue will be released? Approximately?
[/ QUOTE ]
There will be an official announcement thread about it, stickied to the top of the list, put on the updater, plastered to the home page of the official boards, etc etc. If you see none of those things, than no, they haven't said yet. -
[ QUOTE ]
This booster pack is a total rip off. They are charging $10 to do something that should have been built into the tailor to begin with.
Frankly, I don't see how you guys can stand for this.
The costume sucks. The animations are cool, but the gender change? THat should have been available all along.
MC Soft = Sony now I guess...no, wait...at least Sony gives you a bigger world with each paid expansion...and more levels.
RIP OFF for a a bunch of suckers.
More and more, I'm disliking the way things are turning in htis game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why do you care what other people want to do with their hard-earned money? If anyone's a sucker, you are, because you gripe about the game with every one of your posts and yet still pay to play.
If you're gonna rip on the company, at least get the name right. -
Yes, it's a PvP zone. Enter at your own risk. You may not be able to do what you want to if there's opposite faction folks that are in the mood to fight, etc etc. We all know these things. Dolly knew these things, as much time as she spent in that zone. Yes, she should have probably found another way to level fast and been the better person instead of continuing to feed the Twixt troll. All that being true, Twixt still crossed a line. When it comes to "he dropped whatever he was doing the moment I walked in the zone and hounded me till I left, every time I was there" there's something wrong. Folks defending the virtues of the PvP zone keep deflecting what the real issue is. Twixt went too far. End of Story.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Just because they post it in a thread does not mean I read it or even come here much anymore. I pay to play like everyone else, a simple email warning would have been nice.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why bother with having official forums then, if everything has to be emailed to you to be worth paying attention to? Do you realize how many changes happen? Do you really want them to flood your email with 90% of things you don't care about and 10% of things you do?
You play to play, but it also comes with a free message board. They post it once, so that everyone can read it, not just the lazy ones. -
Not necessarily, but if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, you have to jump through a few more hoops to prove that it's not a duck, but a chicken.
Err on the side of caution, and you won't run a-fowl of the rules. -
[ QUOTE ]
Someone asking that, with a high post count, has obviously been around for awhile, and is probably being sarcastic.
Someone with a low post count, is much more likely to be asking a sincere question.
[/ QUOTE ]
And if you knew who it was that said it: a guy that's been around a while and just took a sabbatical from the game and came back recently, then his post count is meaningless. -

I spent more than a couple of nights during later 2006 in real tears over some of the things that Twixt did to me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't you feel a bit silly about this part?
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't read the wall of text but this part caught my eye. I don't find anything silly about it at all. This may just be a game but people have feelings, people get attached. People make friends.
This game is an investment of time. I remember back in the day when I invested so much hard work, planning, and time in to hami raids and a certain individual seemed hellbent on making that experience suck, while I never actually cried tears I can remember being extremely upset several times , about a video game. Emotions don't go away when you log in. People are people regardless.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hobbies are always an investment of time. One you are supposed to enjoy. When your hobby has you crying real life tears, it may be time to take a step back and assess what is really important in life.
[/ QUOTE ]
And that doesn't change the facts of the issue, which were that Twixt was, for lack of a better word, stalking her. How she feels about it are irrelevant. You're actually defending his actions because "it's just a game"? -
[ QUOTE ]
I should have guessed that was sarcasm by your post count.
[/ QUOTE ]
What does that have to do with anything? -

Marketing filters are bad enough. But beyond that the only standard I require from a Dev is that they not joke around with us so much that we never know if they are being serious or not.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, what you're saying is, you have no sense of humor whatsoever. You want bland, straightforward "I can't answer that" kind of answers for everything that might even remotely be coming down the pipe or not.
You'd be right in line with the folks complaining that the Devs don't tell us anything, and you know it.
Personally, it's kind of fun watching BaB and the others play their mindgames, just watching how one little pebble thrown into the pool makes all kinds of waves. I'm sure they'd love to tell us everything that we want to hear about, but they're not in charge of what info gets put out, so they do the best they can. If you grow weary of it, stop reading the Dev Digest. -

It still hasn't been denied that I16 is the synchronization patch for Going Rogue.
As was pointed out in a different discussion I6 was not City of Villains, it was Along Came a Spider which added 3 PVP Zones to the Hero Game and included a graphical update.
[/ QUOTE ]
It hasn't?
[/ QUOTE ]
To be fair, BaB, you were a little ambiguous there. A little more clarity would have helped...

Please, for the love of all that's holy, tell me you're joking when you said this. -

Not when BAB says it.
He may be a good Dev (in fact I know he is) but basically nothing he says in this forum about things happening in the future can ever be completely trusted 100%. He has a bad habit of having "limited" credibility in that area whether on purpose or not. *shrugs*
[/ QUOTE ]
Why bother believing any redname, then? They are all subject to the same marketing filter. Can any of us, with 100% certainty, say what's going to happen in the future about anything? High standards, much? Sheesh. -
One thing I noticed while we were begging folks to bring some kind of holds to the party is that there just aren't a lot of folks that even have those type of characters that were either a)around or b)willing to help. There were plenty of people that had some combination of Brutes, MMs, Stalkers, or VEATS, but at the point we were at, those weren't what was needed the most.
Some things we were struggling with can be remedied with better strategy, such as making sure the mitos directly in the path of the pet stream getting taken down first, but just not having the numbers of certain powersets can't easily be fixed.
We need to put our heads together and figure out what's going to bring more numbers. Strategy is nice, and all, but if you don't have the butts in the seats, it won't survive first contact with the enemy. If that means that we try a different night than Saturday, we might need to do it. Maybe we can alternate weeks on Sundays with the Hero raid. This suggestion is not a knock on the leadership we have in place so far for villain raids, but if their ability to attend or not attend on certain nights is what's holding us hostage to having them on the worst night of the week for doing anything that requires more than a couple of teams of folks, the raid will never get further than what we've got it to at present. A villain raid will probably never be as fast as a hero version, but redside raid newbies are comparing the length of time to what they know. We need to work to get it reasonably close, or the casually interested won't attend. -
