Quote:Last time I checked, it's still a game about super heroes and super villains. Time to get over the past, cause it's not coming back.
Hmmmmm so what im thinking here is if they would have left everything alone.... Then we would have a game about actual SUPER HEROES and SUPER VILLIANS.
Shocking.
Quote:
They take away AE, after giving it and FULLY KNOWING what it was capable of producing. Yet they have done nothing about purple Io's that sell for 250-500million each.
Shocking.
Quote:They have cut the effectiveness of farming down to the most minimal impact possible. thus cutting the influence earning potential for the purple io's mentioned earlier, But still did nothing to effect market values.
Shocking.

Soooooo I guess bottom line is this.....
Wouldnt it be great if the DEVS, mods, owners, stock holders, or whoever it may be, just took the time to LISTEN to some of the people with the suggestions.... and not just the ones suggesting PINK IMPS -

And I had another one arrested for assault (she was trying to rip my clothes off in my front yard while screaming at the top of her lungs for me to have sex with her) -

Quote:sojealousritenao.Wouldn't It Be Great If...
The Devs worried more about this game than a the brown-nosefest that will be Hero Con? Maybe just a little Going Rogue info or something?
They won't be beta testing GR for a while yet, so why bother giving out more info than they already have about it right now? It won't kill anyone to wait a couple more weeks. -

How about "Weathered the Storm" ?
Or "Witching Hour" ? -
Quote:Zombies do indeed come out as well. When I logged in the first time there was a Zombie invasion ongoing.I gotta say, cool new event, but is it going to be too much?
I saw the new Apocalypse event, Eochai, and ToTing all going on in the same zone. I never saw it, but will the Zombie attacks also occur during this? If so, it may be too overwhelming to figure out what to do, especially for badgers trying to get all the badges!
That said, at least Snaptooth is nowhere to be found. -
Yeah, Mastermind pets have always functioned this way. There is no power that says you get pet #2, it just goes by what combat level you are as to how many pets get summoned.

Quote:The timer for the event is in the Nav Bar UI when you're close to a banner. It won't be visible otherwise. I believe it starts at 15 min (could be mistaken). When the timer gets to zero, the banners disappear and the apocalypse is over.
The description in this post mentions a timer, but I didn't see one. Is there a visible timer for the event? If there isn't, I strongly think there should be.
Question about the new stuff:
When the banners are defeated, are the Aspect GMs going to be spawning at one of a few set points, or is it totally random? A waypoint on the map, like the Steel Canyon Fires, or what pops up when you find a key for a side mission in a mayhem/safeguard would be nice, or even something on the Event Channel like "The Aspect has been spotted in (Insert name of neighborhood)" would help us narrow down the search, especially if it can be so easily defeated before the majority of teams can find it.
ToT was more fun. I like that the costume salvage drops from the tricks, not from getting a treat. Once I got used to how the trick mobs spawn, it wasn't a problem. I got several treats right off the bat, then a long run of tricks, and then a few more treats, so I guess the ratio is about right. Saw plenty of ghosts, so those seem to be spawning as they should.
Suggestion for the Aspect: If Eochai and Jack are still going to be spawning like last year, is it possible to not have them in the rotation of Aspect GMs, to avoid the confusion? This way, if we see Eochai, we know for sure it's not the Aspect. -
Quote:So you must be working for Cryptic to know this stuff for sure?Wrong! This game would probably never see power colors for another mmmmm nine months if it wasn't for CO coming out with it first, try again!
At the time CoX came up with the idea of power customization, Cryptic was still around so it was Cryptic who threw around the idea and they were the first to put out a game with power customization, not CoX.
Cryptic might have been the name of the company, but Jack was long gone from the project, and the vast majority of the Dev team that's been working on the game stayed with the game when it got bought out by NCSoft. What was your point again? -
Apparantly the Devs just love to hear whining. Or maybe the EU folks just love feeling persecuted and continue to subscribe to the game to get their fix.

Quote:Seriously...If this is the thing that you staying around hinges on, you might as well hang it up now and move on to Champions, if you haven't already. An exercise for extra credit:
If The_Coming_Storm quits will anything of value have been lost?
(Please show your work with your answer.)
This also applies to anyone in general, as well. If you're frustrated enough at the game that ONE LAST STRAW remains before you quit, just save yourself the angst and quit now. It's a win-win for everyone. -
People with low end systems would have lag no matter what was changed, and they'd have no idea what was causing it besides having a crappy computer.
Saying it's the Power Customization is just the obvious choice, and as we've learned with various bugs and things in this game, the obvious isn't usually the reason why something doesn't work right. -
Damage snob, I suppose. Just can't get into tanks or trollers/fenders much.

Quote:Here's the skinny from Pohsyb:I do wonder what was causing it though. My testing seemed to be showing that for +0 and +1 x8 I got almost normal drop rates (15ish versus prei16 20ish) but +2/x8 gave me vastly reduced ones (like 3-5 instead of 20ish)
Quote:This was caused by an uninitialized variable, in this case specifically it was a structure declared locally when awarding a drop table.
About four function calls deeper, something was using a member of that structure to determine if you were fighting something grey (no drop). Uninitialized variables can be anything, but often have tendency to be zero, which would not cause a problem (actually any positive value would not matter).
This bug as been in since Issue 9 and was not caused by specifically by anything related to I16 (Whenever code is changed the tendencies of uninitialized variables can change). I suspect the changes made with I16 caused drop rates to be closely scrutinized. -
There was another thread in the Technical/bugs section that had the same problem. Short answer is that since the store is down, any purchased or vet slots are unavailable. Once the store is back up, the slots will be reopened. There's some kind of cross-checking that takes place to make sure you're supposed to have the extra slots you have open, and when the store is wonky, that check doesn't happen, so it temporarily locks the slots out.

Quote:The odds are very small that your number of drops on each character compared to the next will be the same even if your kill counts are similar. We are talking random numbers here. If they were the same, I'd say there was something wrong with the code. Keep playing and you'll see the numbers get closer together.Dear Synapse and Pohsyb,
Please check into PvP recipe drop rates as well. They seem awfully low and drop inconsistantly per character.
Just as an example, I have 2 toons with roughly the same kill count but...
Hero- 5 PvP recipes.
Villain- 1 PvP recipe.
Something is definately wrong or this is just additional proof that you hate Villains.
Thanks! -
Agreed with Stray. I began noticing more hiccups in the connection, mapservers, rubberbanding, etc weeks before 16 went live.
MS raids were a lagfest before, and they'll continue to be one now. -
Quote:Here is the thread that's dealing with the borked drop rates. If what you say is true, you're an odd case. Personally, I never got a ton of recipe drops, outside of common IOs, before I16 anyway. I've not done anything but regular mishes since the new issue and have noticed a few less recipes than normal, but nothing to scream about. YMMVI run my demon farm set at 0/8 and generally have to visit the stores to sell salvage/recipes/enhs after each run.
I see no borked drop rate at all.
Maybe those who do believe its borked are just running crappy farms/missions. -
Quote:This. Elf, you just said that you wanted to challenge yourself by fighting all bosses. The game still lets you do that. Your reward is the challenge itself, however, because there are folks that are not challenging themselves. They kept making green mito farms, or other non-threatening mob farms because they don't want a challenge, they just wanted an easy payday.Notice, you still have complete control over the content. What they never said one way or the other was whether you would have control over how much experience anything gave.
There are too many other ways to make quick cash in this game to allow folks to use the AE in that way. -
Quote:As far as I could tell, none of the above was happening. But Champion has CCs and Rikti Invasions fairly regularly, due to lots of LGTF runs, and it doesn't affect me. Like I said, I was just soloing a lowbie in KR. I only mentioned it at all because of the odd behavior of the pop up boxes. When HASN'T it happened for me?
A good question to ask is where you are during this. Are you near Wentworth's or AE? If you're in Atlas Park and heading towards City Hall, is there a costume contest going on? Is there a Rikti Invasion or a Zombie Apocalypse?
A quick way for me to get mapservered out of play is to simply go to Wentworth's while five or six idiots are running every buff and debuff power they have in a continual loop ('cuz it looks so kewl!) while you're just trying to sell some of your salvage. And you'd like to do something that would violate our little online code of conduct, but by the time you finish typing in "PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR FRAGGING BUFFS!" you're back at the login screen.
So any of that going on for you? -
Quote:Don't remember them saying you could be God....anyone else?A.E. was promote like create your own missions, minions, and etc as you want. They went months and months promoting how one can create mission how they want. I bet they sold alot of copies of players biting the concept that A.E was there to play god and created a missions of your dreams. This was a lies basically they set rules on how should a mission should be. Guidelines and you have to add this. A.E was a lie and a total bust. BUSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!
Without rules and guidelines, Elf, you get broken content. Either it's unplayable, or so skewed compared to the regular content that it needs to be reigned in. We encountered a little bit of both. For those who are using AE to tell stories, it's running just fine. -
Since we're in waiting mode, can we please put the tinfoil hats and conspiracy goggles away and stick to the facts until rednames do more investigating? There's no good thing to come from flying off on the handle and accusing the Devs of intentionally ruining your Christmas.

I'd log this in-game, but I can't stay in long enough to finish a sentence without being mapserved, so it's going here.
Normally I'd just shrug off the mapserves as they come and go, it seems, but things were a bit weird tonight. When I finally got kicked off and back to the log-in screen, the pop-up box that normally says "lost connection to mapserver" or other message, was completely empty except for the OK button. Then, on the character select screen, the box that popped up saying the store was offline would occasionally be empty as well.
I was also getting half a box of text when zoning into missions for the first time. The text looked like it was shifted up, as I was only getting the tail end of the text. This happened on every mish I was able to run, even the side mishes of the Atlas safeguard. I was able to log this particular bug in-game.
Anyone else experiencing this? This is just for curiosity more than anything.
I was on Champion, heroside, around 9pm central time while this was occuring. Was also getting some wicked rubberbanding occasionally.
