Quote:CO is already out, and by most accounts, not worth worrying about.I really think they do Going Rogue a disservice by not allowing fans tidbits bi-weekly.
It's hard to stay interested at all.
Surely the advertising marketing people are not worried about stuff like DCUO and CO...
DCUO hasn't given out much info lately either. Until they do, they're not worth worrying about.
I'd rather get the info in a big chunk than in little tid-bits, which would most likely be no more than teasers. With a potentially lengthy beta period, why would they start telling us things that will most likely change in some way before the majority of the playerbase got to see it? -
A couple of things:
1) Just because you point out a bug, even directly to a Dev, doesn't mean the fix is obvious, nor easy. If it's not fixed yet, it's more likely they're still working on it, rather than just ignoring you, like you've suggested. Paranoia, or a persecution complex, doesn't help anyone accomplish anything.
2) People, even you, are allowed to talk about perceived slights in certain areas of the game. Unfortunately, those conversations devolve into making false claims about the Devs' motivations, false assumptions about how they do their work (or how they should do their work), taking conversations out of context and extrapolating conclusions that no sane person would make, given the information, etc. Rather than continuing to bring up topics that are guaranteed to cause problems, why not just PM the appropriate people, and let them do what they do when they've got the time and resources available to take care of it. -
Quote:Here's the problem (and one that's as old as the game). Your definition of real content is not the same as mine, nor is it exactly the same as anyone else, including the Devs. You get bored by things that others have been looking forward to for years, and vice-versa. It happens. That won't make Going Rogue come out any faster.

Quote:Isn't that a movie's job? To tug at heartstrings and get an emotional response of some sort? Aren't we supposed to care about the characters enough to laugh when they tell a joke, or cry when something bad happens to them, or cheer when the nerd finally gets the girl?
Yes, the movie like so many of James Cameron's films was shamefully emotionally manipulative (thinking of frozen, floating babies in Titanic), but it worked so incredibly well I totally forgave him for it. Grown men and boys were in tears in my row. There was a particular sequence that was highly evocative of the terrorist attack of 911 that literally had me clutching my chest. I knew I was being totally emotionally manipulated, but I was loving it!!! Well played Mr. Cameron... Well played.
I'd say Cameron is the best director out there, if his films can all do that, as well as be visually stunning. -

There was a period when these new boards went up where you'd be logged into some random name, until you logged out and back in again, but I've never seen that issue with the game itself, or the NCSoft page.

Quote:Extra bacon, please. This thread needs a BLT sammich.
Off topic, not like this thread really should stay on topic anyways how the heck do you add a tag and furthermore how do I check the rep comments people leave me again?
NM finally figured out the tag question, just need to know the rep comment answer plzkkthxbye
They turned off the rep comments feature, as well as finding out exactly how many points you have. Apparantly, some folks got butthurt by all the anonymous "u sux" comments and complained to the right people, cause their meter wasn't green enough. -
Quote:So...giving someone warnings about using the channel that has a specific purpose (it's even spelled out in the name of the channel for your convenience) for going on and on about something that isn't included in said purpose, and then silencing them for TWO MINUTES (not kicking them, mind you. Just a slap on the wrist silencing) is now classified as "repressive cronyism?" I think you just jumped off the map with that conclusion. Is the job of a channel operator to help keep the channel civil, and focused on the job at hand, or to find justifications to silence or kick members ? ...and the "rules are rules" arguement doesnt really wash with me, as I have seen how some get a pass while others get silenced or kicked. He is welcome to moderate his channel as he might see fit, and if others dont like it, they are welcome to leave that channel. Just quit trying to justify their repressive cronyism. I know what I saw going on in the channel, and my attitude towards it isnt based on my friendships, or sg affiliation, or some secret plot to rule the server. I oppose bullying, censorship and oppression, and if that makes me uncool, than so be it. Hang out with the Thought Police all you want to, I will keep my friends far far away from them.
You might be on to something if the channel were the only means of global communication in the game, but guess what? There's as many channels as you'd like to make, and you can go share your knitting secrets and talk about the weather and if Dirk will ever love Janet again after that affair all you want in one of those channels.
This isn't about being cool or uncool. It's about how much stupidity one can tolerate. The people that got booted exhibited an uncanny amount of it, and were justly rewarded. The rest of us have learned to adapt and move on. -
Quote:So...you're saying that you couldn't handle getting picked on by people, so you went and sat at the feet of the biggest people this side of Stryker. Does Bud take you for walks and brush your fur too? I bet he even "lets" you speak without being spoken to in the channel, too.LoL They keep saying about rules... but I have been around BMT where some peeps was selling stuff IOs and they were kick or silience. I heard several time that there have been off topics in BMT and no operator has done anything. Like I said before i wont join that channel even if they offing free PLs... I can form teams, task forces, and etc by my self or through Champion United...
Not sure why you're even here in this thread, Elf, since you're not in BMT anymore and only heard Bud's side of the story. Do you really need brownie points that bad?
Portions redacted -Mod08 -
Love how you conveniently edited out the rest of the story, Bud.
He was asked more than once to take his conversation about a television show to tells, and didn't listen. That's when he got silenced. You opened up your mouth (God knows why you were even in the channel to begin with, since most of your buddies aren't in there either), and action was taken to make sure you didn't derail the channel any more than you already did. You also left out the part where you put a message on the channel recruiting people to come join your channel. That's no different than SG recruiting on the channel, which is also something frowned upon by everyone in the channel (but you, apparantly, but we all know you have no shame when it comes to recruiting practices). Please don't push the martyr act. You're far from it.
Bottom line: You and the person you don't wish to name have a serious hard on for each other, and rather than let it carry on in a channel where the vast majority have no dog in that fight, the bud got nipped (pun intended). You made CU a while ago, so what exactly did you expect by staying in a channel you actively slam at every opportunity? -
Quote:If people say they've never been on a failed raid, they're lying, or they've been lucky on the one or two they showed up for. If you've done enough of them, you WILL fail at least one, especially if you're trying a new tactic.
Like most of you i have never been on a failed Hami-Raid -
Quote:If you've got the stones to call people out to the carpet, shouldn't you also have the stones to read the responses? It's not like there was a ton of them. Why should anyone read any of your posts if you don't do the same courtesy and read theirs?
Ok, i did not read all the replies nor do i intend to.
Or better yet, think before you spew. -
Don't limit yourself to just teaming within a supergroup, because most of them aren't that large, to be honest. There are a few mega groups, with several branches in their coalition, but there are many more that consist of just a smaller group in it's core with several more folks that come and go, or even smaller groups that are pretty tight-knit, or even just an individual and all of their alt characters.
Join one of the many global chat channels, and you'll find teams just about any time you want, doing just about anything you're looking for. There are several channel moderators on these forums that would be more than happy to shoot you an invite to a channel, if it's a private one, or you can just do a channel search by right clicking on TAB in your chat window, and joining a public one. SGs are good for consistency once you get to know a few folks, but for general teaming, I find that channels are better. Your SG mates aren't always on, but there's always a sizeable group on the chat channels...plus they work cross-server, so if there's folks that have alts spread out across the game, you'll always find someone to play with. -
Quote:So....how does the "Guilty till proven innocent" tact work in reality? How does one prove themselves innocent when they're silenced from the start? Are the people on your server or in this channel so juvenile that they need to go through some sort of audition in front of the channel mods before they're allowed to speak?
a Public Channel that everyone is AUTO-silenced once joins and only a mod can unsilence them, and also tripled the number of mods on at any given time - there was at most 1-2 mods on at any peak hour (EST) some times none and after was a minimum of 3 and during weekends upwards of 8. This allowed the "Solo-artist" to join without having to, well, participate and they get to hear some social aticivity and more importantly can left click someone's global and send then a tell if they want in on something advertised. It also disallows those trying to get in to spam as they MUST be unsilenced by a mod and those mod's usually only unsilence people when they are going to be on for a bit so can see this person's intial chat
And since you brought it up, having more mods around isn't a good thing. That's one of the reasons BMT of Champion went private. Mods on the old channel were promoting anyone and everyone to mod status, which gave booting/silencing power to people that were too immature to handle it. This was before they put in the code being able to see which person was doing the promoting or booting, but even still, that just sounds like trouble to me.
I'd rather not join a channel that didn't allow me to speak until someone decided it was ok. Thanks, but no thanks. Let someone prove themselves to be a jackass before you do something about them, not assume everyone is one before you find out they're not. -
Quote:Those two cases have nothing to do with this. Weapons Customization and Power Coloring (not customization) were thought to be technically unlikely given the current staffing level and priorities. The Devs never said they were impossible.I suggest that you go back and reread all of your "There will never be Weapons Customization!" and "There will never be Power Customization!" posts. Then ponder the irony of this post later as well...
What this particular argument is about is totally in the realm of concept and "should they do it", not "can they do it".
Try again before you push the fail button. -

Quote:I think that "making a profit" in this fashion would be tedious, and probably not worth the effort. In the time it takes to make the transition, you could probably make as much inf selling other things on your own side.First a question, why is selling stuff in this fashion bad? If a person takes the time to buy something in one faction, then do whats needed to switch. Why shouldn't they be allowed to profit?
Also your idea is flawed and would require unnecessary coding. From what I can make out from your post, you also mention something about respecs. The respec system is find as in and requires no major changes IMO.
You seem to hate both making profit and sharing things between toons. I have 34 level 50 toons across two accounts, personally I like sharing things. The market is basically a second hand store, people sell what they don't want. Your idea would eliminate the market from existence.
Have you really thought it out?
Sharing items with alts (and not selling them) would probably be the only thing worth doing in the long run. -
Quote:To be fair to those who run the channels that require an invite (at least the ones I'm in), you don't know the reasons why those "hoops" are necessary. There's been some channel hijinks in the past, which resulted in new versions of older channels being formed (for example: Champion BMT was first, but then BMT of Champion was created and made a private channel (though invites aren't hard to get) because of said hijinks. Most folks migrated to the new channel and life went on as normal, minus a few loose nuts.
With the free server transfers going on -- making someone "jump through hoops" to try and get into any channels / try and get to know you all definately makes other places more attractive.
Needing an invite to a chat channel is no different than joining most SGs. All you gotta do is team with some folks and let them get to know you a bit. They'll hook you up soon enough. If that's not what you're looking for, you're welcome to try something else, but the way those channels are run isn't likely to change anytime soon. -
In order to have a raidable base (which is also a requirement to raid other bases), you needed the raid teleporter (the big giant one) and 6 dimensional anchors, which meant at least that many rooms that could hold an anchor, as each room can only hold one. You also needed a Mission Computer/Oracle, and a Vault room (that could be empty). This was the bare minimum needed to make a raidable base.
IF they bring back raids, they will most likely be totally different than the old way of doing them, as bases no longer follow the old rules for building them. Anchors couldn't be blocked by other objects in the room, and there was no overlapping of objects like there is now. There's been too much time and effort put into redoing bases with the new rules to force them back under old raiding rules. -
One can reasonably assume that by choosing to go Rogue or Vigilante, you are leaving your past behind, including your SG/VG. The question becomes "At what point does this happen?" Is it the first time your status changes (once you run the appropriate arcs/mishes to complete the first transition), or is it when your hero becomes a full-blown villain (can't go back to Paragon)?

Champion has blueside raids every Sunday, if weekends are preferred. Redside raids have been once a month on a Saturday (3rd Sat I believe).

There won't be any Supernatural events going on in regular City zones while the winter stuff is on. There can't be two events simulaneously, and since there's always presents on the ground, WL or not, it will cancel the Supernatural stuff. Therefore, it will skip to a zone it can go to, like the Hollows. Once the winter event is done, it should resume it's normal randomness.

Cobalt's not the only mod in any of the channels he's in. Just get someone to say something in the channel you want to get in. Most of the mods are usually busy playing the game and don't pay attention to the chat as much as others do.
