After reading through this thread, I've come to the conclusion that many of you need to figure out what "Teaser" means.
Srsly. Your blood pressure will thank you later. -

Quote:He's saying you're reaching a bit with your reasons for not liking a random buff. They have a short duration for the most part. They wear off before you'd be done with the majority of hunting mishes in this game, unless they nailed you with a buff toward the end. Does killing a mob in 5 hits instead of 6 or 7 really constitute being markedly easier? That isn't the point.
What is your goal in this discussion? Do you think you're going to bring me around and make me change my mind about how I feel about drive-by buffing?
You have your reasons. Doesn't mean they're not silly compared to what else can happen to you in this game.
And I'd rather not have your QoL suggestion. We've got too many pop-up boxes cluttering things in the game as it is. Maybe if it were just the ability to remove buffs (which I thought was already in the game, but maybe that's just the empowerment buffs I'm thinking of), but otherwise, no thanks. -
I've been asking around in-game, but no one seems to know for sure, so I'll ask here:
I'm wondering if there's a way to see the last 5 transactions of an item that isn't currently for sale. For example: I have a lvl 42 Thunderstrike recipe. I go to look it up in the crafted enhancements section, but that particular level isn't listed. It might have one at 40, and then the next one is 45. Is there a way to see the last 5 of the lvl 42 (so I know what to sell it for) without just throwing it on there and making a guess? I'd hate to lowball it and get way less than I could, or put it too high and waste the listing fee.
I don't generally mess with the search settings on the interface, so it's looking for anything lvl 1-53, both for sale and buying. Normally, if there's a recipe or enhancement that's only one level higher or lower than what I'm wanting to list, I can make an educated guess, but some of the stuff is either scarce at mid levels, or gets sold as soon as it's listed.
I know I've seen listings on the market where there's bids but none for sale, but I'm not sure how or when it shows those and when it doesn't.
Anything you guys can tell me would be great. Thanks. -

Quote:All the unhidden folks, yeah, but not everyone.Top 100 does make it easier to recruit.. I know cause i have recruited for SGs in the top 10 and ones that are not near the top.. People like being in the Top...
The only reason I made this post was to point out to the Devs that free server transfers did make lesser populated servers lesser populated.. It wasn't to cause a BIG Debate. The only people who really can give truthful and not theories on weather or not it is a good idea or a bad idea are the DEVs. Maybe I should have put this in a diffrent area of the forums as I am new to this.
and you can check how many people are on a server by doing a search it will search all and tell you how many are on. LIGHTEN UP PEOPLE!!!
People like being in an active group. Active does not necessarily mean being in the Top 10. A group of four friends that have their own SG and play with each other all the time is active. A huge SG that's been around a while (so it's in the Top 10 because it's old) but only has maybe 6 people on at any one time is not active.
For future reference: If you start a thread, not everyone is gonna agree with you. Welcome to the internet. Overreacting (which you're doing) is only chumming the water. -
Champion isn't one of the top two in population, but we've had at least as many come to our server as transfer off of it, if not more. It's not all doom and gloom. Not everyone wants to play on Freedom or Virtue, or they'd have been there already.
Global SGs sounds good in theory, but in practice sounds more like a headache. What if you have two characters with the same name from different servers that want to be in the base at the same time? Now you get into server merger problem territory. No one wants to have <name>Freedom. Plus, if you were allowed to share bins cross server, or simply pass things from a character on one server to one from another, the markets would get wrecked (IE, they wouldn't get much use).
I'd rather they make the start up costs for building a workable base lower, or give us a way to copy/paste the design of a base like we can now with costumes, which would lessen the impact of switching servers. Prestige is just a number. It doesn't mean your group is great because you're on a list, it just means you've played the game in SG mode more. The people in your group are what makes it great (or not great). -
"End Game Content" to me would be things that can't (not shouldn't...big difference) be done with anything less than a 50. You can already do everything this game has to offer without getting to the end cap. Just adding another high level TF, or some kind of high end raid won't be enough. This content should be the answer to the question "So I got my character to 50...now what?" Up until now, the answer was "Run the same content you just did to get this far" or "Go use flashback to run all the arcs you skipped on the way up to 50," or "Go roll a new character and start over." These answers may be fine for those who haven't played long, or might only have one or two 50's, but it's time to have some stuff for the level capped characters to do that's just for them. Constantly creating new characters is one way to keep customers paying, but it doesn't have to be the only way, and at this point in CoH's lifespan, it shouldn't be the only way anymore. There's a large stable of 50's in this game collecting dust. It's time we gave them more love.
I look forward to seeing what Positron and his minions are up to. -
Quote:Either they got the powerset name wrong in the bio, or the wiki has the wrong powers listed, cause they don't jive. I always thought he had the same powers as Statesman, just named differently. He got his powers from the Well, so that would be magic. Incarnate would refer more to his powersets, since he technically has three, with his lightning strikes.Just something I've noticed on Tyrant's new bio:
Secret Identity: Marcus Cole
Origin: Magic
Affiliations: The Praetorian Empire
Archetype: Tanker
Powersets: Invulnerability / Super Strength
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 225 lbs
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Brown
Distinguishing Marks: None
Shouldn't his Origin be Incarnate rather than Magic, like Imperious, Statesman, and Reichsman? And also, Super Strength? So his Energy Melee attacks will be removed for Super Strength instead? -
All he has to do is stand there at the bottom of the stairs in front of Ms Liberty and watch all the freshly minted characters pop in. I guess paying for all those accounts per month is worth standing there hitting the same bind over and over again....eh. Easily fixed.

Or, even easier than anything else said so far: Avoid Atlas Park. That's really the main place for the blind invites like that, so why subject yourself to it when you can go to Galaxy from the start? There's no reason to hang out there just to hang out when you can go to other places.

Quote:The update about GR is that they've been so busy with it and the other things that they've been delayed in getting us information about it. Basically a "we haven't forgotten you guys" update, which is fine.P.S. Can this thread have a different Title? As of this post, there's not a single piece of new Going Rogue information. The team updates are good to know, and it's nice to see that they are moving things forward. Right now, that's the only thing that should be in the Title.

Did they do their weekly maintenance this morning?
-
Good job, Witty. Now, back to the hold with you! That rum doesn't bottle itself.

Mine got fixed a day or two after I sent in a ticket to support.
Trial time counts as well, since all you're doing is switching its status to full, not creating a new account. I started my trial Christmas Day, and that's generally when I get my year anniversary badges, though this last one was one I had to petition for. -
-
I saw another person in the forums (don't remember who) that figured out it was cheaper for them to get a second account rather than buy more slots.* Is that not an option?
* This wouldn't make sense if you just wanted all the slots for Champion only. I think the person wanted slots on more than one server. -
While advocating more power-specific IO sets, we should also be asking for some of the redundant sets to be removed. There's too many useless sets floating out there, clogging the drop pools and personal inventories.
Do we need all those snipe sets? All those pet damage sets? All those confuse or sleeps? Is there a way to make a more generic group that enhances multiple buff/debuff aspects, like Blessing of the Zephyr does for travel powers?
Implementing a revamp would be hard, but that doesn't mean it's not necessary. What do you guys think? -

He got on the game for a couple of minutes last night to say thanks, and then left again. Not sure about today, but he'd better be staying off the computer.

Others have shot down the rest of your argument, Rial, so I'll just focus on this one part:
Quote:If you consider the fact that the only people who haven't gotten into beta by this point will be the players that a) didn't bother paying their sub between the dates in question or b) don't play anymore, the reward isn't so major anymore. I only have 4 years in this game and couldn't go to the Con, so I'll have to wait till this wave to get into beta. I don't consider it major at all if I'm not much different than just about everyone else. This is a major reward for such a minor accomplishment
Your mountain just got trampled by a fat mole.
And learn to spell, please. It makes you sound more intelligent. -
Quote:I use it this way as well.
Dink is in this instance an ANGIEISM that means dork, moron, someone with less than stellar intelligence as any one will let you know that plays with me since I use the term often and with much enthusiasm. -
Heh. Might as well have read : I saw what you did there. Visit this link or else!
