Once you can see the Closed Beta forums, you're in. Usually the email notification takes longer to arrive. There's really no rhyme or reason to how they pick the initial couple of waves. The same people have been in first wave in one beta, and third (or not at all) the next beta. Going Rogue beta is the only one they've told us up front how they're letting people in. I17 will follow the usual methods of selection.
It's best not to worry about it too much and just keep an eye on your email box and the forums to see if the CB section is visible. -
See, there you go. All you had to do, OP, is ask BillZ. :P

Quote:Since you weren't there, you can't be sure of that, can you? I've seen you mod a conversation before it even got started plenty of times. So much for that idea.Ironically enough, if I was online, I wouldn't have moded the conversation. So much for that idea.
Quote:And yes, it does need active moderation. I've received more 'thank you's for keeping the channel on topic than people gettin' all butt-hurt that they can't follow the rules.
Quote:And no, it's not just BMT, because I won't moderate game-related conversations. But I'm sure this faults whatever point it is that you're tryin' to make, so you'd fail to mention it.
Quote:Honestly, if you don't like the moderation in there, and this isn't the first time this has come up, nor will it be the last, just leave the channel.
Unless you just need somethin' to gripe/complain/moan 'bout. -
Quote:Does it really matter now? It's not going to work in AE anymore. No, they didn't say anything about a bug the first DXP with AE, when AE was getting doubled.
They then said, during the second DXP with AE, when AE was not getting doubled, that it was a bug. This means it was not WAI.
Besides, if it only happened the first time, and none of the times since, the outlier would be the bug, and how it's been the rest of the time would be its intent. -
You just made my point. The channel doesn't need active conversation moderation. Most of those that caused the channel to be private in the first place aren't around, and the rest of us just want to find teams. If there's 6 mods (or however many there are) and only one of them cares enough to open their mouth on a regular basis, many times before anyone has a chance to complain (or not), perhaps that one person isn't acting on behalf of everyone anymore. The channel does its job (putting people with other people doing the same task, or giving information) all by itself, and it does it best when there's a lot of people in it. It's called BMT, but that's not ALL that it needs to be.

Very nice, slacker. Try a Tarantula Mistress next

I think you're thinking about it too hard.
Let's all drop the pretenses that Champions United or BMT Redside are in existence for any other reason than someone getting upset on the playground and deciding to take their ball and go play somewhere else.
The best channel would be the one that has the most people, period. Every time a channel divides, for whatever reason, it reduces in effectiveness. It's simple math, folks.
Here's a sample shot of how the channel can work without being heavy-handed:
Last night there were folks that wanted to start up a Kickball match. They talked about it for at least ten minutes before they started, and answered several questions about it from a few new people. They got people to show up for it, and the whole thing was perfectly civil. No one complained "OMG pvp talk in BMT! That's not what this channel is for!" (never mind that there are pvp badges, which came up in conversation) No one complained that they couldn't find other teams because the channel was talking about PvP and drowning out their requests. Someone advertised a match, they talked it up for a bit to get interest, and then it stopped...all by itself. This happens every day. People can conduct civilized conversations all by themselves, even when the teacher is out of the classroom.
Let's try to do more of this. -
The map where you fight the Jade Spider is Siren's Call.
I think all the industrial maps, like the factory building where you fight Siege up at the top, or the mish Ghost Falcon gives you, are all Crey's Folly, or at least look like they'd be in there. -
Because of what comes next....comedy gold:
Quote:your a nobody dude my book and I don't consider you a lame player.
Quote:I think your more known for being a forum Celeb then actually playing this game good. I mean last time I saw you in RV you were getting wreck and left the zone pretty quick with your tail between your legs.
Please teach me, oh wise one, your secret base camping technique, so I can be a good player. Maybe the classic butt-kissing of an SG leader so you can feel important. That seems to get you far as well. -
Quote:If you had the ability to argue, you might be right, Elf.BMT(hero) rug rats backing up coltbells... so cute! Im telling you why argue with these forums cool kids... there only mad cause there channel is losing numbers..
No one's backing up Cobalt. Personally I'd rather he put down the Hall Monitor Badge for a while and chill, but in the end, life goes on, and people get teams. Keep telling yourself that telling fart jokes and talking about what you ate for dinner is worth having a separate channel for. The adults over here will be enjoying the game. -
He wasn't refering to the email transfers. The original example was using the current method of cross-server transfers through the market, which eats up the fees for doing so.

Quote:This is what I'm thinking as well. Mirror Spirit is too cool a character to not use more, especially how her powers work.Praetorian Mirror Spirit!
1. She can match you 'blow for blow' because either she reflects your attacks back at yourself (like Confuse, but you can only attack yourself), or, she summons a mirror image of you as a pet that has your powers.
2. The new foe will appear in the revamped Posi TF which ends up in the dam in Faultline... where Primal Mirror Spirit is!
3. The new foe will appear in level 20-30 missions, and Primal Mirror Spirit is in a level 15-25 zone! -

Quote:Does it mention anything in my previous post about me being better than you, or anyone else?I am sure at some point in time you weren't like this, When CoV came out I was busy for like 2 years playing it. The guy in the OP asked everyone here a question. Not just you and your friends. Had he wanted to know just your opinion he could have send you a PM. I answered the question from our point of view. I am sorry you felt the need to say that stuff to me again. Its not the first time you have said that to me. If you do not like what I type you can ignore me, or skip it. But constantly coming at me with the I am better than you, thing is getting old.
Please stop trying to get me to quit. "Chase me away". This game needs more and more subscribers not cherry picking less and less. When they add decent amounts of content, yes we are all over it. As others have mentioned in this thread, they also wish for more content. I dont see you quoting them, and saying all this about ADD or "not fun for you" crap.
If it seems that I'm quoting you a lot, it means you've been saying the same thing over and over and over in many different threads. Once again, I suggest that this game no longer holds your attention the way it once does, and most likely no longer will. You aren't the only one that feels that way, I'm sure, but you are definitely one of their flag-bearers, and if you don't like people quoting you, say your piece the first time and go do something more fun. I'd rather play with people that are having fun than spending their game time /wrist-ing and trying to bring others down to their level of misery. There's plenty of people that have been playing as long as you or longer and still enjoy the game very much.
If you're saying the negative things you generally say to try to build the game up, that's one thing, but sometimes it's hard to tell with you if you're being constructive or just a whiner. They're not the same thing. -

Quote:Funny. I've found something new to do with every issue they've put out. If anything, they spent so much time putting content in the game in the early issues that they ignored the features and QoL stuff, and now they've swung around and filled in many of those holes recently. It's cyclical. It happens in every game.My husband and I discussed this at great length yesterday. His opinion is we haven't had an actual good issue since they brought out purples. My opinion is I havent had anything new to do that was fun in over a year.
The fact that they are hiring all these people and cant seem to get free issues out the door that have actual stuff to do created BY THE DEVS, IMO is hurting this game something severe.
Perhaps if the game is no longer fun for you, it won't matter what they put in. You'll burn through the new shineys in a month, and be right back to being bored and complaining about not having new stuff fast enough. It seems MMOs are not good for your ADD. -
Quote:You'll still be able to start one from the computer, if you really want the nostalgia.Hooray! Positron Task Force update is about three years overdue.
On the other hand, I actually don't like that you'll soon be able to do a Silver Mantis SF without a mission computer. It's the only thing that that blasted SG base item is good for.
I'd rather they make more use of the tech, myself. It would actually fit more with their original idea, where all your missions came from a computer. -

I'm sure they'd give people a headsup about a change like that. The sound of people running from the game permanently would be thunderous if suddenly they were out several billion inf.

What NetMinder said.
I'm wondering if people will even be able to attempt to do a raid with the shiney set to 11, cause I know the Mothership would look pretty awesome with all the extra goodies, but if it's a slideshow, why would you do it? -
I'd just like to say that I enjoy seeing features on these lists that haven't been mentioned or hinted at. It's nice to still be surprised about things being added, with all the speculation and people desperate for hints and information about upcoming things. Thank you Devs, for keeping us on our toes.
-
The Devs have changed merit rewards on TFs before, and have said they'll continue adjusting should the need arise, which means if people continue to whittle down times they'll lower merit rewards. Hami could see similar changes as well, but I'd imagine they have bigger things to worry about for the near future.
On a side note, but related to Hami Raids: I wonder how Ultra Mode will affect Hami Raids (or mothership raids)? Will anyone be able to run those kind of graphics without choking their computers? -
Not putting down your channel, but I'm just wondering if the need for yet another channel is really there. Is splitting up the people even more really a good thing, when you're trying to find teams?
