Rrr...
my last two picks both lost by one vote. sigh. -
From what I read in the rules for the contest, you don't have to draw well at all to win. All the winners, including the Grand Prize, are drawn randomly. The only things needed to be eligible for the computer is to a) be at least 18, b) live in the lower 48 States somewhere, c) have a ZAM account, and d) submit any kind of hand-drawn picture of one of your characters (no screenies). There's no mention of a panel of judges looking at your artwork, or anything.

Quote:If they managed to come up with something that everyone found fun, they should patent it and go buy an island somewhere and retire, drinking a mixture of vodka and their competitor's tears (with a twist of lemon). If it's meant to be a "fun give-away" then surely there should be some aspect of Fun attached to it in some way?
Why is it that people insist on every contest, promotion, etc., being aimed squarely at their personal "fun zone?" If this giveaway doesn't appeal to you, so what? It wasn't meant for people that already have all that stuff in the first place. No big deal. You lose nothing. -
Quote:It's not a specific all-SG task anymore, but the leader of each team has to be a member of the same SG that has a raid teleporter to get to the CoP map. It's like running the Silver Mantis used to be before they moved her outside. As long as the leader had a base with a computer to access her, you didn't have to be member of that VG to run it.CoP's not going to be a specific SG trial. It'll be like a normal timed trial that a team of 8 joins, with a choice of merits or Incarnate drops. IoP's are gone baby gone, the Incarnate drops will start whenever they get around to re-adding lvl 1 to the Incarnate abilities, or maybe when i19 hits...

Quote:I like to use the following screen shot of Hami when thinking about these things:
I thought it might be useful to look at things from this angle, because it gives you a really good idea of the spacing of the mitos.
I never noticed that the mitos were set up in a pattern like this. From the side, they always seemed to just be randomly placed. Huh...
I don't play tankers, but I'm finding this outside the box strategy discussion fascinating. Please carry onI'm all for doing a raid different, and hopefully some of these tactics leak over into regular raids.

Quote:What if all you got was "We're aware of the situation, and we're working on a solution."? No explanation for what's going on, no timeframe for when it will get resolved...nothing but a canned response. Would that be enough? Doubtful it would be enough for most.-_- this is soooooo lame. *Yells a HELLOOOOO at the rednames, or anyone that can say something about the situation.* Sent my pm's and even begged.....apparently it wasn't a good enough beg, and we shouldn't HAVE to beg for a response. meh...
i miss my globals *nodnod*
which are...FOR NOW...just back up... don't think this excuses the lack of response from you silly people.
If they don't know what's causing it, there's no reason to say anything out of turn. I'm sure they're just as frustrated (more so, even) as the playerbase about it. Wonky connections and servers don't help anyone.
If stuff gets lost, they've been pretty good about getting the problems resolved. It's not going to be 100% playable every day for the rest of the game's lifespan. That's just reality. All they can do is strive for it, and if that means it takes an extra bit of time to respond to us about it because those people are actually working on the problem, I'll take it every time. Us knowing about what the problem is doesn't make the problem go away any faster. -
Quote:Well for #1 I watch some your matches.#2 Help totally said you a was a dumb !@#. That they would have done better. That why they had play taunt tank.#3 only reason you was a d8 was cause you made team. Anyone could have brough a team could been in a d8.#4 at the end of the league there were very teams left like 3-4 teams.#5 there two reasons people even like you, first is cause your a female and second cause you host events.#6 being in a old old pvp test team don't make you good now.#7 Did you have the chance to tell everyone how I wreck your toon. If your a team players get some friends to help u get a team and run some team matches. I hope you don't have pay players to help you.
And for me not being a good team players... I wonder why I usually get first and most time have the highest kill count. Hmmmmmm explain? And I won few of your events team or solo. Don't call me decent..cause I have several players that would tell you different.
Did it ever occur to you, Elf, that maybe the reason you seem to do so well on TEAM PvP is because of the team and not you? Kill counts don't measure skill. Anyone with half a brain can jump into the middle of someone else's fight and finsh off someone who's about to die. Also, if you're the only one on the team set up that's a heavy hitter and not just a buff bot, of course you're going to have a high kill count. No one else CAN get kills.
Take you off the team you usually play with, substitute another player, and see how the team does. I bet the results are similar with or without you.
Not saying you don't know how to PvP at all, Elf, cause I have personal experience that you do. Just saying that your conclusions don't necessarily follow from the evidence you present. -

Finding myself voting for ones I voted against the first round. My original votes that are left should prevail, though, so I'm not worried -
Good job, CL.
And a special shout out to Those Who Know Who They Are:
Thank you for making sure that Safe Rock was safe. It takes a special someone to stand there in the face of danger and do absolutely nothing. -
I believe it's Sif, played by Jaimie Alexander

You'll get it back when all the support servers are up and running. The extra slots are tied into them and when they're down, they can't be verified, so if you delete a character in one, it temporarily locks out that slot.

Elf, if people are going to hijack one of your threads, what makes you think reposting the same topic with a different title is going to throw them off the scent?

Having an info window pop up when you hover over each power icon would be nice. Probably should post what Stalkers get, since it's not the same as what's on the site.
I realize tweaking is still being done, but there's more information to be given that's not going to change during beta testing. -
Ok, my brain is hurting after looking through various google searches for several online companies, brands, vid cards, etc., so I thought I'd see what the good folks in this game could recommend for the novice computer buyer.
Here's what I'm aiming for (and feel free to recommend that I set my sights higher or lower in different areas):
Cost: Ideally, less than a thousand for the whole thing, but I know that's pushing the bounds of reality. I was looking at towers in the $500-750 range on a couple of sites, which came with keyboard/mouse, and they'd combo in Office for a little more. I plan on buying a monitor on my own, so no need to worry about factoring in that cost. I'd rather not buy something and then have to immediately spend more money upgrading various parts.
Specs: Looking for a desktop PC. My search was mainly under the ubiquitous "Gaming Computer" parameters. I'm an admitted novice when it comes to comparing various Vid cards, processors, etc. I read so many reviews for things where half the people loved it, and half said it wasn't worth the money, so it's hard to know what's real. I don't need "blow my eyeballs out" top of the line, but I don't want something that's crap right out of the box, either. Something solid, plays CoH (in ultra mode, preferably) as well as other PC games (looking into SC2, for example), but I don't really use my PC as the sole means of gaming. My only experience with computer gaming has been on laptops, so a decent PC will be better than anything I've seen up to date.
Where to buy it from: Now here is the tricky part, and the main reason I've come to this forum for advice. I was looking at NewEgg.com, which had a couple of different brands in the price range I mentioned, but reviews for those brands were mixed at best, as well as for NewEgg itself. Some of the reviews I saw were several years old, so I would assume the customer service would improve since then, but I've never bought from them so I have no personal experience to fall back on. I also took a look at TigerDirect, but they have different brands completely than NewEgg. Where do you guys recommend buying a prebuilt desktop? I know that buying parts can be cheaper, but I've had dubious experiences with having a computer built by friends in the past, so I'd rather get it ready to go out of the box.
Basically, what I'm looking for you guys to do is put yourself in my shoes. You've got around a thousand dollars (less if you can) to order a solid gaming desktop. I don't need an awesome case (as long as it cools properly and has room for expansion, I'm good. It can be an ugly block of plastic and metal). I'd like for it to be upgradeable and give minimum problems. I don't care about overclocking, or any other tweaks. An example or two would be most appreciated.
This forum, and the folks that frequent it, gives lots of great advice, and generally has very helpful and honest people in it, and I'd like to thank y'all for doing your best to help others get the most out of their gaming experience. -

I think keeping the shows in categories for voting makes the most sense. I'd rather compare shows that had something in common besides being short-lived.
At this point, there's no sense in doing it differently since we've already had one section of voting.
Quote:How does having three choices in one group lessen your chances? Unless your lament is more about picking personal favorites vs picking something others would vote on. If anything you've got more of a chance in this category than anyone else.Worst of all (for me), three of my choices are in this category which really reduces my chances of getting a show to the final four. If I'd known we were splitting them up like this I'd have picked one show for each category, just saying. -
Quote:Trim the roster down so you don't have more than one with the same powers, or if you've got an abundance of one AT, keep the ones you play the most. The thing is, I've got so many characters running around that I felt the need to prune back. Adding more characters to fill the spaces will just bring the same problem back. I don't see how or why creating more when Going Rogue is Live is going to be a good idea... :/
There's going to be more stuff to do for lowbies in the near future than stuff to do for 50's, so why not go with the flow for a while. -

1. Trigun. I really liked the characterizations, especially Wolfwood.
2. Invader Zim: Afro is ok, but I really didn't get into it.
3. Neon Genesis Evangelion. Never watched either one, so I'll go with the one I've heard of before.
4. Outlaw Star. Freakazoid was fine, but Animaniacs did it better.
5. Dungeons and Dragons. A nod to a childhood of Saturday mornings.
6. Inhumanoids. Didn't watch the other one.
7. Big Guy and Rusty. The theme song has been in my head all weekend. This particular Spider-Man series is probably the weakest of all of them.
8. Cowboy Bebop. Good stories, but the music pushes it to the front with ease.
