Quote:The only auras that are combat-sensitive now are the costume auras, as far as I can see on the costume editor. Those aren't the kind of auras that are annoying.
there is an option now for players can have their power's auras off while out of combat... problem is few a are taking advantage of that option. -
Quote:You're comparing being over there maybe twice a year for a couple of weeks to living there every day? Now that's funny, and very condescending.Ironically enough I can actually speak to this point. Even though I live in Florida I do a lot of international travel to places like Japan and Singapore. These areas happen to be in the same general time zones the OP claims to be from in his "location" setting. Out of several dozen trips and maybe 30-40 play sessions overseas in the last several years I think I've only been "inconvenienced" by the weekly maintenance once that I can remember. Not too bad really.

Pro tip for whoever is moderating this thread:
If you're gonna delete a post, you might as well delete all the posts that have quoted from it. The stupid still got through.

@White Hot Flash
Interested in both sides. I have blasters/scrappers and a PB at 50 that are blueside, and a Ninjas/DM and Crab redside. -

Hey, Teldon. Fix this link (close the bracket at the end) in your last updated list, if you would, please. -
Quote:I don't know...I think this one has been way more constructive than the other one. Probably still gonna get locked, but eh.red rover red rover please send mod 12 on over.
this topic has more than worn out its welcome.
If anything, it removes any doubt about how people intend on operating in the future, so that people new to the "game" know the score. -
Quote:Too long of a process? Seriously? Do you want to just insta-change alignments? How about an 'I change' button instead? The whole system is annoying overall because of this. It makes it where low damage ATs are less likely to want to convert their characters unless a team is doing these. Personally I wont be doing this on any support ATs until they add a streak breaker. Its already too long of a process to have tips to be this way.
Damage doesn't mean a damn thing. Random numbers are random, no matter what you observe. Do it long enough and it starts to converge to the average it's expected to be at.
I've been able to get 5 tips in a few hours, if not sooner, every day I've tried, at lvl 50 and at lvl 32. Never gone more than one mission or a few mobs of street sweeping before getting the first tip, and usually getting several more tips during a current tip mission. -

Can't believe a Dharma Van sold for almost twice as much as Hurley's Camaro.

The Final Season box set comes out TOMORROW.
DVD, Blu-Ray, and, if you've got the cash, the entire Series box set.
Unfortunately, I don't have the cash right now. Probably have to wait till my birthday the end of October. -
Quote:I see this excuse come up every time this topic comes up, and I have to wonder: Even on the higher pop servers, how often does a Numina actually get interrupted? I really think it's way less than people make it out to be.
Don't get me wrong, I would indeed like the Defeat X to go away. They are just tedious, and outright maddening when a Rikti Raid chases the particular group out of zone(Happened to me during a Numina's tf. Needed just 2 more Warriors in Talos when the Rikti came; no Warriors for 30 minutes! Stopped us dead) -
You must not play Redside much. The Cap BM is probably the busiest place in the entire Rogue Isles, since it's so close to the Ferry, the University and it's crafting tables, a Vanguard door, and a relatively close Vault. There's only three people to interact with, whereas all the Wentworths have 4.

Are you sure you didn't create a second account by accident by installing the game a second time? By your wording, you bought the box, installed the game, then applied the code. I would check your master account to make sure you don't have two on there (apparently it happens rather frequently. People hit the wrong button by mistake and make a second account when they meant to just upgrade).
I ask this because it sounds like you didn't upgrade your main game account. If you applied a code and it accepted, you should be able to play immediately. When I bought my box, all I did was enter the serial code after hitting the Upgrade Account button.
If you did create another account by mistake, CS will fix it. It will probably have to wait till Monday, though, being the weekend. -
Quote:You do understand the difference between an expansion and a sequel, right?Keep deluding that CoV was made from scratch, it wasn't. Everquest and Everquest 2 are standalone games, CoV was an expansion onto a pre-existing game. It is absolutely irrelevant to the design and development that you could buy CoV or CoH without having to buy the other, since they used the same gameplay mechanics, same servers, same graphical interface, and you installed all the content regardless of what was unlocked on your account. It's completely fair to compare GR's quality at retail release to that of CoV's quality at retail release.
Sequels are also built upon the original, but they STAND ALONE. They can be played without having the previous titles. An expansion, which GR is and which CoV wasn't, cannot be played without it's parent game.
If you didn't have CoH, and just bought CoV, you couldn't roll a hero, and you only had 8 character slots. That's not what expansions do. It doesn't matter if they share the same engine, servers, costume bits, or anything. How the two games interact with each other does nothing to change what CoV's original intent was.
Going Rogue was never marketed as a stand alone game, with content that could be played without CoH/V already on your system. The fact that buying the Complete Edition gives you an install disc with the entire game doesn't change what Going Rogue is. -
Quote:This is going to happen regardless, simply because it's TMNT.The live-action part leaves me wary, although I suppose they probably wouldn't be able to get away with doing this kind of interpretation in animated form (movie is released, stupid parents take their kidlets to animated movie despite it being rated PG-13, parents complain).
I wonder why writers/directors feel the need to always reboot something that already has its origin story on film. If all they're going to show us is 4 turtles crawling around in radioactive ooze and being trained in martial arts by a mutated rat, that's been done. Why not pick a story down the road and assume the audience already knows who all the main characters are? -
I see your epic fail robber, Judas, and raise you one Epic-level FAIL performance on the part of the parents who gave their child a fake XBox 360 for Christmas.
If I were the kid in this video, I'd save it, and pull it out every time my parents gave me crap about anything. They ought to relive the joy-turned-heartache for the rest of their miserable lives.
Bonus fail for the brother on the camera who was telling him to look at the camera and cry. -
Yes. They changed how these kind of procs work. They now turn off as soon as you turn off the toggle power they're in, like sprint, and no longer give you 120 seconds of stealth after you stop running.

Got my next pick ready...just waiting for my turn..

Quote:Because you don't start building a new house by starting with the roof. The question for me is, did they have the resources to do both at once but did not, and if so, why? Or is it possible that the upgrades to their tech required to make the new content took more of their resources than it otherwise would? Or do they just not have that many resources?
This game hasn't had any attention paid to content below 20 until the Posi TF got redone and the Hollows got its revamp, and that was just recently. It's way more overdue than worrying about end game content, if you had to choose between the two.
What we're seeing isn't exactly a "choice to do one or the other" either. Posi and his team were working on the Incarnate system, and it wasn't ready for prime time. If it had been, we'd see content for low and high levels. What we got now wasn't their original plan. -
Quote:I'm sure your annoyance level is nowhere near what it is for everyone around you and others like you that feel like they need all their auras, shields, auto firing hasten, and pets all out while they market.Okay, is there some way to implement power suppression so that it's actually JUST suppressing powers NOT SWITCHING THEM OFF?
Sorry! I'm getting mightily annoyed at hitting the trading house (or another suppression site) then coming out and having to waste time turning all my toggles back on again.
Small price to pay, methinks, for some peace. It takes all of ten seconds to turn on everything again, if that. Is your time that packed that re-toggling things throws your whole schedule off? -
Quote:I think it's sad that people assume a thoughtful discussion can't be had about video games in general without citing specific examples and doing compare/contrast.Well, as much as I would like to discuss the implications of this, discussions of any game other then City of Heroes/Villains itself has been banned. Such a shame, too, as I would have loved the discussion behind this.
On the other hand, I WOULD like to state that it is perfectly acceptable to discuss non-CoH related gaming news on Paragon Unleashed, the fan forum for CoH/V that includes all the naughty words, gaming news, and partial nudity that one has come to expect from any worthwhile discussion.
The lawsuit points to a particular game only because it has to. The thoughts behind the lawsuit, however, can be applied to any game, and behind MMOs in general, including ours. -
Since the only way I access Facebook is from my computer at home, the only place I'd be shown is at home.
Sometimes it's a good idea to unplug oneself from public purview. I wish Foursquare would go away as well. I really don't care that you "checked in" at the McDonald's down the street. -
Quote:It is free right now. If someone wanted to buy City of Heroes that never played before, they'd pay 40 bucks and get access to everything.I guess it doesn't really matter. Eventually GR will be free anyway, just like CoV was...
Good job on the dismissal of your own topic when everyone who responded proved you wrong, though. -
Quote:This one's gonna disappoint someone that thought they had a real shot at a Bug Hunter badge. They were gonna test something out with being able to go to the hospital and be in Nova without finishing the tutorial.
# Precinct 5 tutorial: If you somehow manage to die in the tutorial and select ‘go to hospital’, you will resurrect next to Officer Flint.
I kind of figured they weren't the first to find that particular issue.
