Weather effects for the sake of having them. No.
"But other games have them!!!"
So? Why are we trying to be like everyone else? We should be different as much as possible.
"But what about Ultra Mode? That doesn't do anything for the game!!"
Ultra Mode doesn't do anything? Uh huh... It gives the graphic level a much needed kick in the pants, and brings the game away from "this is old-looking." It gives people a chance to use more of their high-end graphics cards. It allows the art team to design better costume pieces. It lets them design a city that looks more like a city should look like. Ultra Mode was necessary. Weather is not.
If the game gets weather effects, as long as they're not hard on the computer, and look well done, I wouldn't complain a bit about them. If they continue to do other things and leave it on the "we'll think about it" pile, oh well. I'd rather they have a reason to have weather (tying it into RL seasons, or writing missions that require them) if they're going to put it in at all. -
Quote:Well, the followup is that Lightning McQueen is racing in the world circuit now. The spy stuff is just what's going on in the background. Makes sense to me for a sequel.Oh I know. It's just not what I would have thought would follow after that first film.
Looks great. -

Constructs are also something he'd have to learn how to control, so being able to do a lot of them right off the bat wouldn't make a lot of sense. They didn't show much of Oa, and that's where you'd see more constructs being made.
Everything looks fine to me so far. I'll still be watching this the first day. -
Keep in mind that if you don't change them now, you can't lock in their powers as-is, so that if you ever do a respec for something else down the road, you're gonna end up with inherent fitness anyway. Kind of like people with legacy costume bits that aren't available in one of their slots can't ever change that costume or else lose those bits forever. You won't be able to pull out IOs to sell them, you'll have to live with whatever power tweaks come down the road, etc., if you want to keep your build the way it is.

Played the story earlier this evening. I like the idea. It wasn't too hard or too easy for my solo blaster. Had a couple of spelling/typo errors in the NPC dialog, but other than that it was good.
Be prepared: It's set for lvl 1-20 enemies. -
Yeah...getting hopes up about getting additional enhancement slots is a fruitless endeavor. I'm not sure how many times Castle and others have to say "No more slots" before people understand that.
Incarnate abilities are supposed to, among other things, allow you to keep your current power levels with less enhancements, since their abilities affect ALL powers. That should allow you to free up a slot or two from something you'd normally slot more heavily and put those slots in the three new powers that Inherent fitness frees up. It may not work this way with just the Alpha slot for every powerset and AT, but I'm sure that's a design goal for the near future. -

Patrol XP is the norm now. You can minimize it by playing the character every day, which will limit how many bars of patrol xp you start with, or giving yourself some debt by dying, which will subtract from your Patrol XP amount instead, or you can play while exempted, which will slow you down some too.
The way the game is set up, it's either all or none. -
It's next week, folks!
Will we see any fallout from Dr. Mrs. The Monarch and 24's kiss?
Will someone else die?
Now that Hank has gotten some, will Dean finally become a man?
Can't wait to find out. -
Quote:Only if you subscribe to the idea that the way Bug Hunter is doled out is broken and needs fixing.I would actually argue it the other way around: Unless you have a time machine you may never get some of the anniversary badges. Time travel is probably outside the purview of what the Devs of this game can achieve. On the other hand they actually do have CONTROL over how they award Bug Hunter or more generally how they would choose to reward players for finding game-breaking bugs.
I would submit that since the Devs actually have CONTROL over Bug Hunter yet choose to continue to allow it to work the way it does alone makes it a "worse" situation than missing anniversary badges. The Devs can't change the passage of time, but they COULD reform how Bug Hunter works.
Don't count it as one of the badges you "need" and you won't have to lose any sleep over not having it. It's the only non-trivial badge there is. Changing how you get it would push it into the trivial camp, and would make it worthless. -
GG, aren't you usually one of the first to jump on others that post "I heard this, so it must be true" posts that have no links or proof of validity attached?
You know better. -
I can't believe it took Disney this long to make a theatrical Pooh movie.

If it were me, I'd spend a little bit more to get a computer that you didn't have to go upgrade for a while, since paying more is what you're stuck with. You might as well get quality rather than pay more for something you're not happy with.

All you need is to drive a car with an Autobot or Decepticon insignia on it and a "My other car is an X-Wing" bumper sticker.

Quote:I know a lot of folks that got tired of being on Freedom and transferred when they got the chance. Also consider all the folks that DON'T switch over to Freedom and Virtue. They obviously have reasons besides game performance for staying right where they are. Not everyone wants to be where "everyone" is. I have yet to roll a character on Freedom and I probably never will. Nothing bad against those that have, but I find plenty of teams and things to do on the servers I choose to frequent. For reasons other than server performance issues with higher population?
I ask as I went on to mention perceived server performance issues as a reason for moving to a less populated server.
It's interesting news to me if people moved because they actively wanted to be on a server with lower population but not due to perceived performance issues. Is that what you're saying people have done, according to anecdotal evidence? -
Quote:If you think the game is harder, that's your perception, which isn't necessarily what's happening, much like the people that swear that accuracy gets nerfed every Issue, or the people that think the drop rates keep changing.
Well that's not true. It might not affect non-50s, but it certainly is tying up future Issues with Incarnate bonuses over other things for people who don't jump into the incarnate system. People say the same thing about the enhancement system we have now, but how many times have you run a mission at lv50 (enemies being anything) with your enhancement screen 100% empty and landed a hit, had it do noticeable damage, or kept from endcrashing lol? The current invention system might not have meant to make the game harder but it did, at least for content after it came out (which now at issue 18 live, is the majority of it), people purpled out complain things are too easy and the devs make new stuff harder, so it is literally impossible to survive on an unslotted character at level 50, or any of the high ones(not saying I've ever tried it, or that "on the perfect team" it would matter, but solo? Yes. It did cause changes to the core game.)
The Devs might be "ignoring" regular content to put in Incarnate stuff, but that's only because they've been "ignoring" end game content since the game came out. They decided that now is a good time to rectify the situation. And if you've noticed, they've put in content at several level ranges for the last few Issues at least. I don't see that changing anytime soon, even if the Issue's theme is Incarnate stuff. -
I would rather they delay the issuing of the second respec than making them stackable. They give us ample warning so you know how much time you've got to use one. Free ones are not meant to be saved, since the only time they give them out is for major tweaks to powers. Make your plan ahead of time for how you want to take powers and slots, and the respec process doesn't take that long, even if you've got a lot of characters to fix.
-
It was even worse before they lowered rent significantly and made many items cost lest.
If you're a small or solo SG, roll up some alts and get them invited into your group. You get a pretty good bonus up to the first 15 (I think), and as long as they stay there, you keep the prestige. It's meant to be seed money to build up a decent base. -
Thanks.
Vilhjalmur looks awesome. I like the mix of different pieces.
Desert Owl looks good too. -
I think news about I20 trumps anything else they'd be working on, especially a little old booster.
We just got one. They're not going to say anything about the next one till next month at the earliest, and probably not till January.
