We're just a minority (albeit a large one; introverts are about 25% of the population.)
Being introverted is an excuse, and a poor one at that. It's not something game developers should have to design around. There's nothing wrong with having to play by a set of rules you don't particularly care for, or that aren't catered to your every need.

Being physically unable to play in a style that being on a team requires is a different animal, but that's not what you've been describing.

If Gardner didn't have respect from the Guardians, they never would have made him an Honor Guard, and they wouldn't be letting him do what he's doing in Emerald Warrior either.

Kyle's pretty good too, but he's still got much to learn from Guy.

    Purple IO Cap?

I'm not worried about it either, but some defense is always better than none, especially if you team a lot. You never know what evil your teammates have perpetrated around you when you're not paying attention to them. Deaths may not mean much to you, but they might to your teammates. Sometimes blasters are the only thing keeping a team from a complete wipe.

It just seems to me that you'd rather fill in an ATs (or a power set) weaknesses with IO bonuses whenever possible, rather than just keep piling on to what they already do well, especially with the Incarnate boosts.

    Purple IO Cap?

No one else is wondering why he's ignoring defense/resistance bonuses on a blaster, that probably needs all it can get?

    Maybe it's just me...

And what exactly is terrible about them, other than being old?

People were saying how great the AE system was gonna be, but it still had to have rewards (or bribes, as you put it) for the majority to play it. The die-hards keep saying that if you reduce or eliminate the rewards, the farming will go away, but people just have to have rewards or it's not worth doing. Everything in this game has incentive attached to it. What do you think XP is? Or extra costume slots?

I've never run anything for just the reward. I run it when I feel like it, and not before, no matter how many merits they want to throw at me. When I do run it, I enjoy it. The Freedom Phalanx TFs are not excluded from this, nor are the Shard TFs.
  6. Guy Gardner.

Of all the main character Green Lanterns, he's the one that's stirring up the pot the most. He says all the things the rest of them wish they could say, and still gets respect from the Guardians at the end.
  7. No matter what TF they have us doing, you'll still get a Notice of the Well. That's really the point of doing these. You can get shards anywhere.

I have a feeling it's got more to do with DVD sales than anything. They can get busy selling them and making money if they can crank out the seasons faster by making the seasons' broadcast time shorter.
  9. I must be missing something. What's with all the aversion to "padding" when it's been inherent since Day 1 of the game?

There are instant gratification rewards, and there are some that you have to work for. Sometimes that work is just waiting the proper amount of time, and sometimes you have to have so many widgets to make a cog. This thread is making it seem like the Devs have just swerved in an unexpected direction. From where I sit, it's par for the course.

If there's nothing to use an Ultra-rare slotted lvl 50 on (and there isn't, besides just doing something lesser toons can do, but faster), and there's at least a couple of months to wait before there might be something (don't know for sure at this point) to do, what does it matter if it's 24 hrs or a week or two weeks before you get your shiny?

If you read the dialog in the Ramiel arc, you'd know that it's gonna be a long, slow journey anyway. He told us that getting to full power in one shot was dangerous, and we'd be stuck doing it the hard way.

I'd rather the content be waiting for me to kit out my characters, rather than have uber-50s waiting on something that's challenging to do. Making the process of upgrading be non-trivial makes sense.

So you know what part of the world the storm is in. Hurricanes are always in the Atlantic, heading toward North America, and Cyclones are always in the Pacific or Indian Oceans.

    Otherwise they're the same.
  11. Geez, Sho... that's quite the pull list.

Mine will have that many, but only because I haven't picked them up in a month....

I would really love to see a redname quote with this information. I'm betting you won't find one.

This used to be my absolute favorite mmo but it's no longer innovative or even fun. It's depressing how many bad choices have been made and how the very life of the game has dimished. I really looked forward to it. Hopefully change occurs again. So sick of the term "pugs" when there's people who play at some hours that will always just get that if they are even lucky to see another player online (even on the most populated servers.) A lot of us just don't have tons of friends in this game (or games in general) and have a busy life and job and realistically can't develop those friendships needed for some content. I wonder when developers will get this, or even care.
If you're basing your notion of "there's never anyone around" on actually seeing a player character go by or standing in Wentworths, you're not getting the whole picture, since this game is so heavily instanced. Get on server chat channels. Every server should have one dedicated to finding TF teams, and there's always..ALWAYS at least enough for one team, if not several, if you just ask, or even better yet, start one yourself. Yes, there are people that no longer play, but there's still new people starting up every day to take their place. The server I play on the most seems to be holding steady in number, if anything, and that's about as much as you can ask for an almost 7 year old game.

Making sure you have friends is not the Devs' concern. If you can't find teams, you're either playing at the wrong time or not looking hard enough, and sorry for being blunt, but that's really the way it is for everyone. You are in control of both of those things.

Also, making things "Team Friendly" does in no way mean they're going away from being "solo friendly." All that content you enjoyed is still there.
  14. Has anyone tried slotting a Rare after the TF/SF is done, and then running a second one and seeing if the issue persists? It would differentiate between just having the enhancement slotted at all, or if it's the act of creating and slotting it while inside the TF that's doing the crashing.

    What an odd bug.

    The Cape 1-31-11

I agree with the show needing more fighting between the antagonist/protagonist. Perhaps their budget is restrained, so they can only show so much of his cape doing its thing.

    Loved this line:

"Do you always have to interrupt me when I'm drinking?"

    "You're always drinking..."

Considering that a TF/SF is only the Weekly Target when it's designated as such, I would venture a guess that you're only accumulating credit for these badges by doing the Weekly Target, and not previous ones, or other ones entirely.

If you did the same TF 4 times a week when it's the Target, you shouldn't have a problem getting the 50 badge before I20 drops, though I would imagine they won't be turning off the feature, since it represents an alternate way of earning required components. I don't think I20 is as close as you think it is.

If anyone is saying that someone doesn't deserve rewards because they're disabled, they don't represent anyone but themselves and their own ignorance. There are plenty of examples in this very thread of people that are more than willing to work with just about anything you have to throw at them if you simply inform them at the outset. Communication, and treating people like adults and giving them the common courtesy of letting them know why you'll be spacing out on occasion, cures a lot of perceived ills. There isn't anyone in this game that hasn't had to leave the keyboard at the drop of a hat for whatever reason and leave their team in a lurch.

There are, however, people claiming that being shy or being an introvert (I was very introverted, but I got over it to a large degree. It's not permanent unless you allow it to be) is some sort of hindrance to getting what they want, and are trying to garner pity for themselves. If they can manage to post on a forum regularly (and be quite vocal and verbose while doing so), they can deal with teaming with strangers for as long as it takes to gain a reward. Many of them seem to have found a Super Group, so they've already taken steps to get out of their self-imposed shell.

No one is asking them to quit soloing and switch exclusively to teaming, but it sure seems that way based on some of the comments that have been made. End game content, however that's defined for you, does not necessarily change the rest of the game on the journey to that content. All those story arcs are still there, and will still be there, waiting for you to solo through them at your leisure. This game will still be as casual or as hardcore as you want it to be. Having to wait for content to be catered to your desires is not a bad thing, and if it never comes, that's not a bad thing either. It's just a decision. They're not passing judgment on how you choose to play. They're not telling you to either get with the program or leave. They just decided to put in content of a particular variety, with a particular way to play through it. Either play it or don't.

There are two options to make this situation more fair.
I'm not discouraging your suggestions, but I am curious as to what you mean by "fair." Fair to whom? Is there some advantage/disadvantage that doesn't apply to the whole team? Are there people that don't invite Rogues to teams because they take a bit longer to get between mishes? I team with people that have slow loading times due to ancient computers or crappy internet. They take just as much time to get from place to place.

What exactly are you fighting? In a mission, or street hunting? Teamed or solo?

I seriously doubt an account would be bugged like that.
  20. I've bought the hardback of a graphic novel, and then a few months later bought the paperback version, not remembering that I had it already until I finished reading it and figured out why the story was so familiar....

If it's a bug, it wouldn't just be on Liberty and it wouldn't just be with villains. Random Numbers are random.

I was getting tips regularly. I went a couple of mishes without getting the Morality mission, and then I got it the next mish.

I've played several level ranges of characters since the patch, and they've all been getting tips.
  22. Anyone else not getting a sound when shooting X-Ray Beam? I have a Rad Blaster and every other power fires off as normal with normal sounds. I think I can make out a faint noise before the beams actually fire, but every time I fired it off, it was silent when the beams actually shot forth. I like knowing if my power worked by the sound it makes when there's a lot going on. No sound, to me, means it got interrupted or didn't fire off at all.

    So far:

A failed ITF with an all-Villain group (didn't have enough damage for Nictus Rom)

A couple of levels on my fire/shield scrapper.
  24. If you have a valid in-game reason to have all your toggles and pets running while standing INSIDE a building with no enemies, feel free to complain about the suppression. There is no powerset that takes longer than 30 sec (and that's a large guess. I bet it's faster) to turn on everything you want without pets, and pets don't take that much longer when you can target one pet to train them all.

They should do it at every market in every zone in the game. Ask them to find a solution that doesn't involve permanent de-toggle instead.
  25. Three weeks for something that has nothing new to it seems a bit much, but I'm not complaining. I guess it gives people with Praetorians enough time to get all the costumes/badges on those new characters.
