    "I'm not that short, Cap'n."

"Don't go all Vegeta on me."

    Jurassic Park.

"Everyone asks whether or not we can. No one asks whether or not we should."

Abandon? Hardly. Positron and his small group are the only ones working on the Incarnate stuff.

We've been getting arcs at lower levels, TF/SFs, and all kinds of QoL fixes that have nothing to do with Incarnates. Just because you don't like it doesn't make that stuff imaginary.

Stop listening to all the Dooom-criers that paint the future as Incarnate-only. No red name has ever said that would be the case, and they never will.

So are we categorizing all content that requires teaming as "hardcore" content now?

No wonder people are so confused.

    Teaming =/= hardcore.

    Soloing =/= casual.
  6. Since you and Venture are together on thinking the writing in Tips could be better, Sam, I'd like to pose a challenge to you both to actually rewrite a particularly heinous (in your opinions) example into something more tolerable. Perhaps some of us aren't exactly grasping what you're looking for. Not just one line, but the entire setup of the Tip.

I'm willing to bet that your rewrite won't have the same punch, but then generic things usually don't.

What I have said is that so many players focusing heavily on the all mighty end game to exclusion of all else is not good for new player retention. That's all.
Every new bit of content has seen a major swing toward doing said content at the expense of older content, and it's always been temporary. People have managed to stick around for years, through many Issue updates. Issue 20 and beyond will be no different.

The Devs threw a rock in the pool. The water is rippling right now, but it will calm down and be glassy once again. People will go back to doing what they normally do, if they haven't already.
  8. Ideally, you're not even supposed to wash with soap or shampoo every day. It sucks all the moisture out of your skin and takes the good oils out of your hair. Unless you sweat like a pig, you don't have to do much more than spritz off with water. 2 minutes should be plenty on the off-soap days.

"Sadly" to whom? You're not solving the perceived problem just by taking out a pronoun. What you're really shooting for is:

'He's been blinded by his anger at the system.'

No qualifiers, no judgements, just facts. Heck, even the 'he's been blinded' part might be too much:

'He's angry at the system and resorting to acting as judge, jury, and executioner.'

I don't see Tip Mission writing any different than any other writing in this game. You as a player (or your character) needs a reason to be doing the task you've been assigned. The game is supplying you one. You can ignore it, as many do, or you can immerse yourself in it. The only thing different in the Tip writing is an attempt to distinguish between the two paths you can choose. Heroes act different than Vigilantes, and Villains act differently than Rogues. Sometimes they have a different point of view on the same situation, and that's what the writing is trying to convey.

When I went to summer camps, one year we got put into a nicer cabin that had it's own bathroom (instead of trudging halfway across camp to the communal showers). There were a dozen of us, plus a couple of adults, and we had to make the hot water last. Perfected the 90 second shower that week, soap, shampoo, and all.

I would rather they do this on Thursday as advertised as the designated maintenance window.
You do know what "Hot Fix" means, right?

They put it on the live servers as soon as it was ready. It wasn't ready Thursday.

Maintenance is exactly that. They can patch whenever they have to. The two are not necessarily the same.

Here's your bigger problem. You're trying to use hotel internet to not only play the game, but download a patch. Good luck with that.

Too bad it's all the way at the end of the summer. I hope I still have money to go by then, with all the other movies I want to see coming out first.

  14. Some comments are very close to calling the Devs out for willfully screwing people (for lack of a better term) with this reward system. Until we know differently, we can't assume it's anything but an innocent mistake, or not thinking through every ramification, which is bound to happen. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt on this one that if there is something wrong, it was unintentional and it will get fixed. We won't be getting a WAI answer.

Whatever you presently think about the Devs, and what they seem to be doing in the future, let's not let that bias creep into this. There's a big difference between intentional design and "it looked good on paper."
  15. Small clarification:

You have to have any two out of the four T3 in a tree (not two of the same, nor any two from different trees). Each combination has it's own recipe, which you can find by scrolling, plus there's a recipe for using Threads and other components from the Trials, as the others have said.

You also need to have 4 Notices. Two for both T3s, plus another two to craft the Favor you need for the T4. If you've got more than that from running WSTs, you can convert them to shards and get 4-6, I believe. When I made my T4, I had two extra Notices, converted one and got 5 shards, which was exactly the amount left I needed to craft. If you're really anti-Trial, which sounds to be the case based on you saying you need a million shards and how long it takes you to get them, I'd still say it's very worth it to at least run the WSTs just for the Notices. One a week saves you a ton of Shard hunting and a lot of inf.

  17. I'm failing to see a problem here that's unique to Energy Melee. On teams, it's rare for ANYONE that's not support to make use of all of their powers if a team is rolling good. Mobs go down so fast you're lucky if you can get more than a couple of attacks off before you're on to the next one.

In my book, this would be a good problem to have. It means your team knows what it's doing.
  18. Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't there been instances in the past where players have insisted that something was wrong or bugged, the Devs kept insisting it wasn't, but in their analysis of the code and data they found something related to the "problem" that really was messed up, and wouldn't have found it if the players hadn't been wrong and brought it to their attention?

I feel like there's been a time or two where this has been the case, but I can't think of specific examples. If I'm right, it would be a good example for not ignoring what the players are saying, wrong or not. The data doesn't lie, but sometimes we're asking the wrong questions about it, or making the wrong conclusions because we don't have all the information and resources the Devs do.
  19. First off, I'd wonder why a team of four could only handle one power a month...

I would put two people on #1, two on #2, and get both of those problems solved. Unknown to the population problems are still problems that would most likely cause a ripple effect on newer content if they weren't fixed. I would also keep in contact with the small but dedicated group that is affected by #3, to assure them that the problem is known. I would probably get that fix in with a smaller patch when it's done, but it wouldn't be a high priority unless there were no other pending big problems.

What Zombie Said. I've always had to pull Red Caps that were just inside the neighboring zone where they spawn into the zone I'm supposed to defeat them in.

At least the number you have to find is relatively small.
  21. Being a vet player, you should know better than to ask for timelines from the Devs about anything, even if they're nebulous. You should also know that it's not the Devs that don't tell us things, it's Marketing.

Stuff comes when it comes, and not before.

The tone of your post would suggest that there is no correct answer for you that won't validate what you already believe to be true.

Asking "when can we expect X, Y, or Z" questions is definitely NOT fair. If they remotely replied with some sort of half answer, people would claim they were promised things that were never promised, they'd be filling the forums with Doom threads and trying to rally the villagers to riot in the streets over things that are only speculation from players, and taking comments from red names WAY out of context and putting their own slanted spin on everything.
  22. It will most likely be some sort of trial and error bit, where she goes out in different combinations trying them out until she finds one she likes.

Superheroes always tweak their look until they settle on something.
  23. Thank you, Paragon.

Hope you've scared out most of the server bugs with all the extra attention this week.

Options you don't like =/= no options at all. Too many people are confusing the two.

You can get shards running the new TFs, just like you can doing anything in the game now (after unlocking your Alpha). Whether that path is worth it to you is totally in your own hands, not the Devs.
