  1. I bugged this in the Test Server, but I'll post it here as well.

I watched the Combat numbers as I turned on and off the Steam Jump. According to the info, it's supposed to grant a +fly speed bonus, but there wasn't anything added to my total. Only the jump height bonus was added, and visible in the numbers.

I wasn't on a character that has flight, so I don't know if that makes a difference, but the other IO bonuses I have for +fly show up.

Can anyone verify that they're flying faster with the pack active? I know it's easy to hit the flight speed cap, so it would be easier to see on a low, unenhanced character.

If it does indeed give +fly, the combat numbers should be reporting it. If it doesn't give +fly, either they fix it so it does, or remove that part from the description. Personally, I find it odd that it would grant +fly to begin with, since it's Steam JUMP.

Once again, in case you or anyone else forgot:

If a power is currently operating OUTSIDE of it's planned parameters, fixing it so that it obeys the rules is NOT a nerf, no matter how much people wish it was.

If a power is obviously OP when compared to similar powers, choosing to play it despite knowing it's broke and will likely be fixed at some point is at the player's own risk. Might as well complain about the Devs closing exploit loopholes while you're at it.

Rain powers =/= nukes, and they never should come close, even with Incarnate buffing.

Also, out of curiosity, how do consider /dark and /storm not support? It's basicly all they do. Maybe we just have different definitions of 'support'.
I don't know about /storm, but /dark doesn't really have any team buffs at all. You throw down tar patches, hit the biggest target with a toggled debuff, shoot off some Fearsome Stare, maybe some Tentacles, and pull out your Dark Servant. All you can do to directly help anyone is heal, and that's only if they're within it's radius if it hits.

I use those things on my Ninja/Dark to help me first, and by extension everyone else. They get to ride the wave. Support should be concerned with keeping themselves alive as much as their teammates, especially if they're the only ones that can rez people. What good is a face-planted buffer/debuffer?
  5. Hard to judge the whole movie based on one out-of-context clip.

Liked the cars he had in his building.
  6. Just a few quick things I noted while looking at the costumes and aura:

    1) Victorian Steampunk hat 01 (male) has a large gap underneath the goggles in the front that goes all the way to the brim. You can see the head (and hair) underneath the hat through the hole. Classic Steampunk does not have the hole.

    2) If you pick Classic Steampunk sleeves, you cannot get the colors to match the shirt underneath the vest. In some cases, the colors are way off.

    3) The bow tie on the classic shirt is nice, but you can't make it go away if you'd rather have something else. The usual neck options are layered underneath the bow tie when you select them. Could we have an option without the tie, so something else could be put there instead?

    4) If you have long sleeves, the straps and buckles of the steampunk gloves clip through the sleeves. Looks bad.

    5) You can only pick one color for the Clunker aura, so if you'd like brass gears and springs flying off, you have to have a light-colored oil. There should be a secondary color for the oil if you have the trail + body part option selected.

I really liked the costume emotes, as well as the other emotes, and the steam jet travel power is very nice. Note that it kicks off at 30 seconds no matter if you're just hopping around in small jumps or taking one long jump.
  7. Another Fan, I'm curious as to how you think getting a respec would help with Incarnate slotting issues, when Incarnate powers aren't locked in to a power like an enhancement would be. You can take it out.

Craft a different one. That takes more time, yes, but what else to you have to do before the new Incarnate content comes out?

Honestly I've already bought 6 of these boosters, and I can't justify yet another one just because you finally got around to making a decent full dress for women to wear. When are you going to offer some new costume pieces for free, and quit nickel and diming us into submission?
    Look at it this way:

If it were "free", you'd still be paying money (your sub) to get them, and most likely they'd be attached to a large Issue release, so you'd be waiting quite a while for them.

With boosters, you trade a little bit of money for getting your hands on things much, much sooner. They also don't necessarily have to be tied into whatever other content is being added. They can be a separate thing.

Y'all are gonna get Thor on the list of things we can't discuss if you keep going on about Norse Mythology vs Christianity. Just a word of caution.

You would probably be kept for observation. If you objected, they would bring in someone who could enforce the medical decision. And there's always someone who can make you stay, no matter your level.
Do you feel the same way about healing powers while in a fight? It's interesting that, by the way you put this, that there could be instant healing in some cases, and in other cases, like going to the hospital, there is not. Are you ignoring healing powers, or asking people not to use them on you? Do you use inspirations? What about being resurrected while inside a mission? How do you explain regeneration rate?

Not that awesome like the devs pretended to be (At least to me of course)
And to others it was just fine, much like every Issue they've tossed out.

It would be boring if everyone liked everything all the time.

    Teaming Question

Funny thing is, that person would probably start a thread about how much of a control freak YOU were being.

Life is too short to worry about such things. All you had to do was finish the mission, leave the team, and be on your merry way. Anything you do beyond that doesn't really help your cause.

The first X-Men movie made $296 million (foreign and domestic) over it's entire theatrical run.

Thor just made that much in less than two weeks.

I think it's gonna do ok.

I could have sworn the servers are in Mountain View. The job I linked to is for Mountain View.

As much as the idea of working for CoH appeals to me on a theoretical level, I don't think I want turn my happytime into worktime.
You wouldn't want to get paid to do what you'd do for free?
  17. There's been confusion about this on our server, so I'd thought I'd link to the latest from Avatea.

    It's still Posi

Several had said it was Sister Psyche earlier today. Just want to make sure everyone's on the same page in case people ask, and they will.
  18. Voted again for you.

Half those girls aren't even trying, by the looks of the photo they chose to submit.

For every one of you that didn't want more slots, there's an equal number, if not more, of people that did want more.

Believe it or not, but the way they chose to do this really does affect the least amount of people, and is the least amount of work both NCSoft and the players have to do to make it work.

Actually, it still does. They wanted us to try to break the server. Breaking it at 1000 players is just as useful to know as it would breaking it at their goal of 2500, or even higher.

All you have to do is log in to get the badge on the 27th, the actual Invasion part is just giving all those people something to do so the server actually gets its stress test.

NOBODY is saying "make it so that every single person can attend." But some of us *are* saying that a single 3-hour window in the early afternoon on a weeknight isn't sufficient.

And as far as alts being "scary"... maybe some of us like playing our mains. Maybe playing a level 1 isn't all that enjoyable for many of us. Maybe we really don't want to spend the next couple of weeks leveling an alt up on another server just so we can participate in this event, only to have the character stranded on that server that we never play on. Maybe we enjoy teaming with our friends on our home servers.
Zub, the event time frame is limiting because it's not a scripted invasion event like the Rikti Drop Ships. There are actual Devs running things, dropping mobs on folks, etc, so there's only so much time they have available to do so. If they could fire and forget, we'd be seeing waves and waves of invaders for a week.

The time they picked is the most convenient for them, and at the same time hitting the majority of people's window of play (more people work days and have evenings free). There isn't a time frame that's better, or will catch more people, unless they chose to have each server be invaded twice, once in the day, once in the evening, but that would mean even less time for their people to actually do some work.

I crash on entering trials about 1 out of every 10 times. There are giant lag problems with any league over 16 in the BAF. The warehouse room in the Lambda has giant lag/slideshow/lockup problems with it. I can barely help get one crate there in 5 minutes, some cannot go there without full system crash.

Every one of these issues has been brought up to the Devs. Like the lag in the ITF valley, I fully expect this to never be fixed.

Need another example? Ritki mothership raids.
Thanks for your non-help. That will definitely get the problem fixed faster.

I ran on a couple of Lambdas yesterday. It was laggy for me all over, but especially inside the grenade collection phases (either one). No crashes, though.
