  1. Description: Murky Cloud loop
    Folder name: powers
    File name: miasma_loop.ogg, whirlwind_loop.ogg

Note: miasma_loop.ogg is used in a lot of the various "Dark" power sets for both powers and their FXs.
  2. Really, they either need to do something about the looping sounds or let the players take care of it themselves. I was trying to play a dark armor brute today and Dark Embrace is driving me crazy, not to mention giving me a headache.

But I suppose someone will just say I don't really need smashing/lethal damage resistance so I should just leave the power off.

You and me, States, One on one, mano-e-mano.

I just need one shot. Just one. Go ahead and clobber me after that.

    Right in the jimmies, Jack!

For destroying Tankers and everything they ever stood for.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Its the player not the skill set every tanker I know is fine

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Don't know any tankers, huh?

With Enhancement Diversification comes a benefit for ALL City of Heroes powers.

Every power, across the board, is getting a 13.33% reduction in its Endurance cost.

See this kills me why didnt he put that in his original notes. Not that by any means does this make me less angry at how the devs have handled this whole situation, but it would have soften the blow a tad bit.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Probably because they didn't plan to do it until today.

Citadel = Luminary - just seemed appropriate the 2 androids were a team since they are the only 2 who probably can have a conversation on the same lvl

Consisting entirely of 0's and 1's?

    [ QUOTE ]
With that info it isnt a big leap to think as the SideKicks have matured that they would end up forming a team and be heros in their own rights

    [/ QUOTE ]
At least they didn't call them the Teen Titans. Originally the Teen Titans were entirely composed of Justice League sidekicks: Robin, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Speedy,...seems like there was a fifth but I can't think who. Not Supergirl, I know.

    Scorus

    Aqualad of course.
  6. Despite having technically not survived, Numina is definitely a member of the Surviving Eight considering that she was the winning entry of the "Design One of the Surviving Eight" contest. I suspect they aren't counting Statesman because he's counted as being on a level above everyone else, i.e. he is the best of the best.
  7. Doesn't the Unity Plague arc have you distribute the antidote to the Surviving 8? Only that doesn't include Statesman. The 8 you visit are; Ms. Liberty, Back Alley Brawler, Positron, Synapse, Bastion, Sister Psyche, Manticore, and Numina. I believe the Surviving Eight are the members of the Freedom Phalanx that survived the Rikti War.

I don't think I like the whole "everyone in the zone loses their powers part". What kind of spell can stop EVERYONE's powers regardless of what their source is?
Turns off a mutant's genes, stops a tech hero's armor from functioning, strips the power from magical artifacts, keeps magic heros from casting spells, somehow keeps the changed body chemistry/whatever of science heros from functioning, strips kheldians of their natural alien abilities....

So we get the cop out "a wizard did it".

    -_-

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah I didn't quite get that etheir. So a natural AR/Devices blasters Guns and Devices stop working? a Natural MA/SR scrapper just gets weaker and slower? da hell? Oh well, besides that, and the hellion/outcast thing, I thought it was pretty cool, having Manticore as the main character (at least...it seems to be focusing on him) is kinda neat, and the artwork is awesome.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Of course its quite possible that naturals were completely unaffected by the spell but with everyone else losing their powers decided it was time to beat feet anyway. I mean, what generally happens to a team in mid-combat when it suddenly loses 80% of the team? And with the teleporter system out? I could see it quickly turning into a rout.

You find the preview here: http://www.newsarama.com/Top_Cow/CoH/CoH_01.htm

Those two covers look so good I wan't them both!

    [/ QUOTE ]

There's also a third cover by George Perez, but I have yet to see it anywhere. My guess is it will contain a lot of heroes and villains on it, should be amazing.

The comic definately looks promising too, I can finally put some personality behind all those who train me and send me on my TFs!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually all three covers are previewed in the article. Its just that the Perez cover is up at the top of the article instead of down with the others. You can still click it to see a large version of it. I'd have to say its my favorite of the three.

Top Corner. Right hand side. The Shocker, floating above the gunners, firing a blue bolt. After The Spell has gone off.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm still inclined to think its a mistake on the part of the artist rather than the writer. Every other gang member we see is using either a gun or a sledge hammer. And we're explicitly told that when the spell goes off it messes with the Clockworks as well as the heroes which would make me seriously question why it wouldn't do anything to the Outcasts. I'm really inclined to think that the script called for a group of Hellions to be drawn in but it didn't get explicit and the artist drew Outcasts instead. It wouldn't be the first time something like that happened in a comic book.

I do have to wonder about the guy with the sledge on this page since he appears to be flying. Then again I also wonder why Synapse isn't in a running posture in the next panel.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
I do wonder what happened to all the Natural origin heroes there. I'm pretty sure the AR blasters would be quite capable of wiping the floor with the mislabelled outcasts and a few failing clockies. Unless they made the rifles magically disappear too?

Um... any martial artists in the house?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I had similar thoughts, prompted by Manticore's notes about being a guy who was good enough at archery to hang with the Freedom Phalanx.

As for the gang, they're dressed like Outcasts but they didn't seem to have powers like them. Unless it was the worlds' largest gathering of Outcast Initiates. If they had been Outcasts, they would have been just as screwed as the heroes were. So it seems more like a problem with the artist drawing the wrong gang than it is with the writing.
  12. I think letting multiple players complete the same mission at the same time is a good idea but I also think it would have to be restricted to people who actually have that mission in their mission list, not just those who have a contact with that mission available. Otherwise you have the potential problem of people completing missions they haven't reached yet in a story arc. Imagine joining a buddy to help him take down an AV and at the end finding out that you just completed an arc you hadn't even begun yet. Though I suppose the proposed "flashback" missions would allow you to go back and do the rest of the arc.
  13. I'd be very surprised if they put in anything to reduce transit times like a transporter system. That's one of the tried and true methods used by MMOs to slow down leveling because the faster a player levels, the sooner he/she is going to decide they've beaten the game and move on to something new.
  14. I actually spent most of level 49 in the Rikti Crash Site soloing after I3 went live. The changes to fire tanker status protection made it possible and exp was very good thanks to the bump given unpopular mobs.

The main reason people don't like the Crash Site isn't the psionic damage (though Chief Mesmerists can really dish it out now) so much as the fact that every Rikti spawn includes 2-3 controllers that are quite capable of locking down anyone who doesn't have some form of status protection.
